J.E. Ladd & Son Transfer

I have moved many many times in my life and JE Ladd was absolutely the very best. They were extremely thoughtful, careful, pleasant and prompt. They went above and beyond expectations in all phases. I would never use anyone else.

EXCELLENT!!! The JE Ladd team were the BEST!!. They moved me from the 3rd floor to another 3rd floor unit. Everyone was nice and friendly from the time I asked for a quote and during the move. It was a very warm humid September day but they got me moved and made the process fun and easy. I will definitely be using them again for my next move, I would be crazy not to. I didn't eat breakfast that day and like I said it was very warm and humid. I ended up getting dehydrated and got sick. The supervisor for the team that day stayed with me to make sure I was okay and even checked on me later. That is why I would use them again. They are Good People!! Thank you JE LADD!!!

Will definitely hire Jay + crew again. He handled every item with care and showed utmost professionalism and respect for our belongings and house. Clearly set expectations too of what would happen the day of the move and pricing. Awesome job!

Jay and his crew moved us into our new house in April 2017, and they did an excellent job. It was clear that they knew what they were doing. Our new house was new construction, and the closing date got moved out to a later date. Jay was very flexible and understanding, which we greatly appreciated. He also helped us secure storage for our things with Triangle Mobile Storage because we weren't able to change the closing date on our old house, and we were "homeless" for about a week and a half. The final price was slightly higher than originally quoted, but it was completely understandable since they ended up having to make two trips out rather than all on one day as originally planned - and I felt it was still very reasonable. They made moving less stressful, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

They made good their assurances 100% and amazed us as to how they kept track of each and every item, no matter how small, so that all were replaced in the same condition in the exact same locale. They were truly amazing and performed all of their services in a warm and friendly manner exhibited by absolute dedication to their customers needs and a level of professionalism seldom found these days. I highly recommend them without any hesitation whatsoever! Many thanks guys!!

Perfectly. Super nice in an authentic way people, rather than a scripted-by-company-policy style. A true family business. Excellent and communication and flexibility about plans that were changed by ice storm. They were willing to do a small amount in a situation where I was able to move a lot of the stuff myself. They did not require a security deposit, which was helpful..

The crew impressed me right from the beginning, when backing their truck into our driveway. They set the tone for the day, as far as their communication and professionalism. For just three people, they were incredibly quick and efficient, and because we packed their truck to capacity, they gave me ideas for consolidating items or putting them in my car to save time and money. Jay Ladd is a great representative of his family's business, as are the young men he worked with that day. I love all of their photos on the web site from the "good old days", and was very proud to learn that we were moved by the oldest moving company in NC. Can't say enough about this positive experience!

Jay and Harold performed a packing miracle! I hired them to pack a truck that I was driving to another state and I had miserably misjudged the amount of furniture to be shipped. Not only did they get it all on the truck but it was done with extreme care and speed. I'm absolutely positive that any other company would've told me that it wouldn't fit. That would have meant a second trip costing more time and money for me. They were also the most economical of all the companies for which I requested quotes. If you want quality, i highly recommend them and will use them in the future!

Pleasant, cautious, considerate movers.

Everything was moved very professionally, and the movers were very careful with everything, and nothing was broken (we have many glass tables) or scratched. They showed up on time, and their estimate was close to the actual expense. They helped us place items in each room, which included moving some a few times.. Plus they provided free of charge, several wardrobe boxes to pack our clothes in plus several large (2x3)plastic containers to move household items, which they picked up from us a few days after our move.
Overall, we'd highly recommend them.

They are particularly good with pianos. I used them because I had another mover who is well known for moving pianos, antiques and things like that. He really does an excellent job of moving it and I needed the piano moved and he didn't have the time to do it at that moment so he sent me to Ladd. It was another mover that recommended Ladd. I've used them several times. They have a system that they use concerning the move asking how many steps they are and how much distance they have to move. They have moved some other stuff for me too, but I've used them 3 times to move my piano. They show up when they say they are going to and move for the price they say they are going to. They are just rock solid, honest and hard working people and I like that. I will use them again in the future without any questions.

They had two guys come and do the moving for me. They were a little bit late; they said they were going to be here at one time but they got here maybe 30 minutes late.

I HAVE MOVED MANY TIMES AND USED THIS COMPANY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THEY ARE FAMILY OWNED AND DO A GOOD JOB. THEY SHOW UP ON TIME AND HAVE NEVER DAMAGED ANY OF OUR FURNITURE.

THIS COMPANY WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS DONE RIGHT FOR US. THEY WERE NICE AND COURTEOUS AND WORKED VERY HARD. THEY EVEN STAYED LATER THAN USUAL TO HELP US FINISH BEFORE THEY LEFT.
