I bought a 2012 Camry in December with 31k miles, and took it to Ingold today for an oil change and tire rotation. In order to be sure that my warranty stays in effect, I asked them to change the cabin air filter and the engine air filter, which is called for at 30K, before I bought the car.
About an hour after I dropped the car off, Ingold called me and said that they had looked at the filters and both of them looked great, and that they wouldn't feel right charging me for new ones. (Probably meant that the filters had been changed just before I bought the car.)
They called me again at noon to tell me the car was ready to be picked up. When I got there, I thanked them for their honesty, especially since I'd given them instructions to go ahead and change the filters, no questions asked. The gentleman that I was speaking with replied, "It wouldn't have been right; we don't need money that way!"
I've taken a number of cars to Ingold before; this is the kind of experience that keeps you coming back to a merchant. The next time they tell me I need a service that I wasn't anticipating, I'll have no problem giving them the go ahead.
