WE AT GUESS ROAD CABINET ARE ONE OF THE OLDEST FAMILY OWNED BUSINESSES IN THE DURHAM N.C. AREA. SINCE 1951 WE HAVE HAD A REPUTATION OF PROVIDING OUR CUSTOMERS WITH QUALITY MATERIALS AND SERVICE. WE ARE KOWN FOR DOING THE SMALL JOBS THAT MOST CABINET COMPANY AND BOX STORES TURN DOWN.AS A MATTER OF FACT THEY USUALY SEND CUSTOMERS TO US. FROM A SINGLE HINGE TO ENTIRE CABINET REPLACEMENT WE WILL STRIVE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH EITHER THE PRODUCT YOU SEEK OR TELL YOU WHERE TO FIND IT. AT THIS TIME WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR ESTIMANTES UNLESS THERES A DISTANTS OF MORE THAN 10 MILES, OF COURSE THAT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH FUEL PRICES THE WAY THEY ARE RISING , USUALY WE REFUND THE COST OF THE SERVICE CALL IF YOU PURCHASE THE JOB. THE DISTANCES THAT WE TRAVEL RANGE FROM VIRGINIA TO SOUTH CAROLINA FROM GREENSBORO TO HARKERS ISLAND AT CAPE LOOKOUT N. C.. WE DO NOT TO INVOLVE OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS WHEN IT COMES TO OUR CABINET INSTALLATIONS. I BELIEVE THAT QUALITY CONTROL CAN BEST ACHIEVED THE LEASET AMOUNT OF INSTALLERS USED. Wayne Harris operates this one man shop with a relative assisting with installations. Getting him to return my calls was a
challenge (even before there were problems) and he never brought a shop vac with him -- leaving me to clean up after his many visits.
After discovering and questioning the MDF panels, Wayne claimed he didn't know they were made of MDF and that he had ordered solid wood. He then sent us a letter that basically said MDF is made of wood therefore we got what we contracted for -- solid wood doors! The contract didn't just say solid wood, it said "no MDF".
The issues we had were many and we had to threaten lawsuit to get some of our money back. After waiting years and saving for a kitchen remodel we ended up with cabinets we are not happy with :(
On a happier note, we love our floors and counter tops -- contracted through someone else.
