He did really great work. He tried not to disturb me.

With my wife 7 months pregnant with our first child, we discovered extensive water damage along the entirety of one of our home's external walls. and lt;gulp!and gt; The solution: complete reframing of the wall! and lt;double gulpand gt;
A friend of ours, a respected and high-priced general contractor, recommended that we use his and quot;framing guy,and quot; Francisco, and we couldn't have been happier with the work. Over the course of four days, Francisco and his crew tore down and rebuilt the whole wall. They focused on doing things the and quot;right way,and quot; and Francisco frequently showed me where corners had been cut -- as well as what he was doing to rectify and improve the situation.
The highlights:
Work quality: I'm no carpenter, but the rebuilt studs and joists were clearly far more sturdy than the existing ones. Francisco braced everything. Where one 2x4 or 2x6 had been doing the job, he put in multiple boards AND reinforced everything. He communicated how his approach was superior to the existing state of affairs, and he emphasized the importance of doing things the right way.
Communication: Francisco went to pains to explain everything that he was doing. He identified problems and described his solutions to them. He was always patient in explaining technical details to me and my wife. As mentioned above, he was proud of the quality of his work, and he would invite me to look at everything he was doing. He also speaks great English, which I know can sometimes be a concern for folks.
Attitude: Francisco was a pleasure to have around! He always had a smile on his face, liked to crack jokes, and was frequently singing on the job. Singing! He was great with us, our dogs, and anyone else around the house and work site. He was the kind of guy you'd like to have for a neighbor, in other words.
Cost: I don't know how to compare this, but we've been told that we could have paid twice as much for the project we did.
Quality of Life: This project threw our home into chaos. A quarter of our house was opened to the elements as ceilings and walls disappeared. On top of that, my wife was nearing her delivery date. Francisco worked extraordinarily quickly, showed up early, worked late, and was highly respectful of our interior space -- his crew cleaned up after itself and did things like putting up plastic sheets to keep work areas separate from our truncated living area. He really helped to mitigate the chaos of a highly stressful situation.
Overall, Francisco was great to work with. I would hire him again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend him.

Francisco Murcia is terrific. There were a whole lot of things I needed doing. The cost was much less than I expected, which is always good! He is very good, very meticulous. He is hardworking and does what he says he is going to do. He never overcharges and does a beautiful job.
