The problem is in followup. The first year we asked for him to return to move some of the heads that were causing some trauma to our bushes, and he did not. We had the system turned off and drained that fall, and again at that time asked him to move the heads, and again he never returned.
Since then we have had our system activated at the same time we have our back flow inspected and honestly I will likely have to call another company to drain the system.
Rico is an awesome guy and does great work, but he himself admits that it is hard to get and keep reliable help and as a consequence he is stretched very thin. This is a shame, because he really does do great work.
I initially contacted Falling Rain summer of 2011 along with several other contractors to quote out an irrigation system. The quotes I received were all over the place ... from ~$3000 to over $8000 for supposedly comparable systems which frustrated me to the point that I put off the decision until 2012. I decided to go with Falling Rain for two reasons: 1. Price and 2. An "A" rated Angies List landscaping company gave an excellent recommendation when I called around to check references.
I was NOT dissappointed. Rigo and his crew were very professional and did a wonderful job on irrigation installation. On all outcomes, he ensures that you are a fully satisfied customer. My father had a concern with the placement of the backflow preventer and Rigo had his crew out the next day to move it (mind you it was just a 3 foot move ... most would have responded that the move was not necessary). His pricing is so fair and work well done that I did not even go for multiple quotes when determining I wanted to add landscape lighting. Rigo was out within a week of me contacting him and had the landscape lighting installed the following week. I would highly recommend them for irrigation and lighting and will definitely use them again if needed.
