"As also mentioned on Google: Communication with the client ([Member Name Removed] L. and her daughter [Member Name Removed]) has been extremely difficult and very dishonest. As stated on our website, a move out cleaning is of an empty home. When we arrived to the property, we noticed that the home was NOT empty at all. In fact, there were still several areas that had items that needed to be moved out. As we have always done in situations as such, we told the client that we would start in the emptied areas and strive to work around everything else (within the amount of time purchased). It is very difficult to ensure the integrity of the job when the property is not prepared as expected (in this case a completely empty home). I also recommended to the client ([Member Name Removed]) that it would be of better judgement to skip the vacuuming and focus on the cleaning, since the carpet cleaners were to arrive shortly. Professional carpet cleaning services have machines that pick up small debris (dirt, dust from ceiling fans, etc). Thus, we left our vacuum in the car and proceeded to clean. After telling the client ([Member Name Removed]) that we would not have time to clean the garage or the areas that were still full of her things , she immediately called the office to complain (while we were still there cleaning). I later realized, she left a voicemail indicating that we did absolutely nothing at all, and that she wanted another team to come out and clean her home. As stated on our website, http://www.dirtdoctorscleaningservice.net/cleaning-service-prices.php, Your cleaner will only be prepared to work UP TO the amount of hours that you choose. Should we arrive and determine that more time is needed, you will have the option of bumping up to the next time block (if the cleaner is available to stay later). If your cleaner is NOT able to stay later, you will need to schedule another appointment in order to complete the job. We not only stayed for the time purchased, but also additional time. We did this in order to get as much of the cleaning complete as it was their moving day. No one responded to her call because we were still in her home cleaning and our office assistant was gone for the day. After 9.5 man hours of cleaning, (she only purchased 6 hours) we left her home. The next morning ,after hearing all of her voicemails & reading her email, I responded. I let her know via email that I (the owner) was actually there cleaning (with another cleaner) and I will not be sending anyone else out to her home because I know the work that was done before we left. Both she and her daughter were there speaking with the carpet cleaner when we left the home. She was simply unaware that the owner was also cleaning her home when she called the office to complain. She received 9.5 hours for the price of 6, and I felt this was more than fair. Quite frankly, I am disappointed that we were unable to satisfy our client. We at Dirt Doctors take great pride in caring for all clients and strive to make our clients whole. Our goal at Dirt Doctors is to make sure that our clients are so satisfied that they refer us to new clients. We invite you to try Dirt Doctors and not be discouraged by this very dishonest review. "Hi (Member name removed), It was a pleasure servicing your home and we look forward to servicing you again in the future. You actually had 4 cleaners that day but we have made certain to put that you prefer no more than 2 for the next time. Thank you so much for your business and Happy New Year :)"
"Hi [member name removed] and thank you for submitting this review about your experience with our company. I am unsure as to why we received this negative review since I (the owner) was there and both of us (you and I) walked around to check the home after we were finished. We also spent extra time cleaning (free of charge) as to make sure we got almost everything on your list. Once the time limit was up, we explained that there was only 2 areas left not mopped. You indicated that it was fine and told us we did a great job. You received 3 people for 3 hours (including myself) for a total of 9 man hours and we cleaned your entire 4000 sq ft++ home except mopping a few areas. Not only did we walk around with you after the cleaning, we also sent you a follow up email asking for feedback. There is no feedback at all on record. Thanks again for the opportunity to service you."
The ad said that this was DEEP cleaning --- that they would reach all visible surfaces, get the cobwebs out of corners, really do that hard, deep scrubbing that a routine house cleaning doesn't do.
When I called to schedule, they said that they can't always do a full deep cleaning of a whole house in 6 hours, so I should leave a list of priorities -- things to do first. So, I left a list of what I wanted done, in general priority order, including cleaning the inside of the fridge and oven, then rooms in priority order. What I found was that they did a "light" clean of only the things explicitly called out on the list, then left early.
The did clean the inside of the fridge, but not the freezer (they are side-by-side), which I figured would be included. They did clean the oven, but required I provide disposable rags (good thing I was home) and didn't do a great job. But the real bummer was that then they only lightly surface cleaned the rooms. There was NO deep cleaning -- in fact it was less thorough that my usual cleaners. Light vacuuming (even though I'd just vacuumed) with absolutely no attention to the edges and corners, and straightening of papers on my desk (even though I said to leave them alone) and remaking my bed (even though I said to leave it alone). When the cleaners left, there where still cobwebs in the corners, the baseboards were dirty, backslashes dirty. Outsides of appliances weren't cleaned. And I know they didn't run out of time, because I came home just as they were leaving 15 minutes early, saying they had finished everything! There were three of them, so that's 45 minutes that wasn't spent cleaning even though none of the "deep stuff" except the fridge and oven had been done. If I had just wanted light sweeping, vacuuming, and straightening, I would have had regular cleaners come in. I had to spend hours after they left doing a deeper clean on all the rooms. It's like they took the list, did a bare minimum job on just the things explicitly listed, and then left.
To be fair, I have to give them credit that they did do a couple of non-standard things I asked for: washing the outside of a couple first floor windows, and hosing off the porch. But, they didn't do a very good job of either, leaving streak marks on the windows and large patched of pollen missed from the porch. I had to redo those, too.
All in all, I feel like I paid $165 to have half the inside of my fridge cleaned, my oven cleaned moderately well, and a light sprucing up of some of the other rooms in my house. Perhaps my expectations were off -- but I had my house pretty clean at a surface level, and I did not want it "straightened up" I wanted it deep cleaned.
Also to be fair, they did call and email me afterwards to ask for feedback, but I was traveling and did not have time to give it to them (esp. after having had to spend hours doing the actual deep cleaning myself, since I would soon be showing the house).
"Thank you so much [member name removed] for your review about your experience with our service. While we always encourage feedback (negative and positive) from all clients, I must be honest that this one has me a little puzzled. This is the absolute first time that we have heard about your unhappiness with our services. I guess this is so surprising since we go through great efforts to make sure that all clients are satisfied (as you stated) through telephone or email (with you we did both) directly after the job is done. Immediately after each job is closed out, you are sent an automatic email that asks about your visit and encourages feedback. Had there been feedback given (telephone or email), we most certainly would have sent the team back over (as our 200% guarantee on our website states) to fix those areas. There is no record of a response from you at all (telephone or email) and it is now 30 days after your cleaning. Often times clients are not aware how long it actually takes to properly clean a surface or area in a home. This is why we encorage clients that are leaving a list to put the major time consuming areas (kitchens, bathrooms, inside of appliances, inside windows, etc) at the top of the list. As stated on your service agreement, this doesnt guarantee that your entire project will be completed in the allotted time (6 man hours) but your team can give more focus to the most important areas. Pretty clean on a "surface level" can be completely different once the cleaning has started, depending on how much actual soil build up is underneath that surface level. Not saying this was the case but soil level does affect the time needed in one area vs another. Please know that we are not taking your concerns lightly and we will definetily use your review to better our training practices. If there is anything else that we may do to better assist you, please dont hesitate to contact me directly @ 919-323-6882 or [email protected] ................Thank you for your business!
