We had no issues or problems with him for our air duct cleaning. They estimated on how many floor vents you have. One return duct is included and then they add so many more. This being a small house, it was not as expensive as maybe a 2-floor house or 2 heating system house. They used their camera system and there was quite a bit of chunks from our remodeling work. We had 3 different companies come out. His price was the most reasonable. We talked with him extensively and I checked him out in the internet. His company has been in the area a long time and he has a good reputation. I would not hesitate to recommend him for air duct cleaning. His price was reasonable, but I only interviewed 3 companies. I might have been able to get the work done cheaper had I looked more. You look in the camera and see the before and after. You definitely saw the improvement. I was really looking to improve my air quality and that is a huge part of his business.

When Bobby Hayes came to give me an estimate, he pointed out sources of heat loss in basement, including an inadequate cover for crawl space access and holes around pipes and wires that needed caulking. We agreed to a 2-part process. The first day he came to work, he vacuumed the ducts and repaired metal ductwork. He charged $470 for duct cleaning and $130 for repairing 1 duct and sealing all the ducts. Although he had a camera and appeared to use it at first, he didn't use it later. The estimate stated "video inspection of each duct after cleaning." but this didn't happen and Bobby didn't produce any video later when I asked him. My later impression was that the camera was all for show and he got no information from it at all. I check on his progress a few times that day, but mostly stayed out of the way. I paid him $600 for this day's work. The next week he returned to insulate any parts of the air supply system that weren't insulated in the crawl space, caulk gaps between crawl space and finished basement and to frame and build a better access door to the crawl space. He brought an assistant. The assistant was too big to go into the crawl space so he mainly watched. I paid $150 for the framed insulated plywood crawl space door. This door makes a huge difference and was well worth the cost. However, there was a problem with the framing squashing a flexible duct and restricting airflow, but Bobby came back later and fixed it by shaping a sheet metal piece to run by the frame. However, the insulating job was totally inadequate. Bobby was surprised when I went into the crawl space with him. Most of the air supply ducts were already insulated. I pointed out one particular place I know wasn't insulated because of a repair that had been made to the floor above it. We also saw a few places where the floor didn't have insulation and Bobby said he would put some up. When Bobby returned to repair the compressed flexible duct the following week, I went back into the crawl space and found that Bobby hadn't insulated the part of the duct that I'd previously pointed out. When I pionted it out again, he set a piece of insulation on top of it. Then I went into the crawlspace under an addition to the house. I found various problems with insulation and ductwork. I asked Bobby about them and he said he'd had an employee the year before who would have gone into that part of the crawl space but he didn't have anyone working for him now who would. He should have let me know up front that he wouldn't be able to do that part of the job. Bobby seemed to be a nice guy so, although I felt I'd paid for top-of-the-line service and not gotten it, I was okay with it until: I felt a strong draft on the family room floor. I lifted the vent cover. The flexible duct had dust and debris in it and obviously had not been vacuumed. Furthermore, I could see light shining around the metal boot and realized I was looking at the floor of the garage below! So, I vacuumed the duct with my house vacuum, taped the metal vent boot to the subflooring under the carpet, and went into the garage and taped insulation around the vent boot. I've now checked all of my air vents for leakage of cold air around the metal vents, and taped all where I felt cold air coming in. This was what I had paid Bobby to do. Now I think I need to go back into the crawl space with insulation and tape and check all the vent boot. I'm frustrated and disappointed.

Bobby was very personable and professional and was willing to talk with me about my concerns regarding the job. He quoted me for a day's worth of work and even though it took a day and a half he stayed with that original quote. I should note that a big part of the reason it took longer was because I had so many questions along the way, which he was more than happy to answer. He has meticulously researched the equipment he uses for residential vent cleaning applications; the device he uses is very high quality and versatile. As part of the duct cleaning he also sanitized the ducts and inspected the blower unit. He guarantees his work and I'd be happy to recommend him to anybody.

I was very impressed. Even though I didn't find them through Angie's List, I was so enthused by the experience, that I had to put in a comment.

I am in the process of renovating a modular home for my daughter. After determining that the ductwork needed to be cleaned (I dropped a lot of debris in it when I was tearing out the ceiling) I scouted around for a company to do this. I was given the name of Bobby Hayes (DHT Enterprises) by a friend of mine. I called him and asked if he could come and clean the ductwork. I could not meet him there during the week so he agreed to come on a Saturday (I was pretty surprised that I didn't have to take off of work to meet). After exchanging some pleasantries, Mr Hayes pulled his high res video camera out and proceeded to remove a register. I had vacuumed out as much as I could reach with a shop vac so I was absolutely amazed at how much trash and debris was in the duct. There was also mold. At this point Mr Hayes pulled off 3 more registers. In two cases the duct was not attached to the trunk line. He also found lots more debris, mold, and rat droppings. He said he could clean the duct but it would be a waste of my money. He said with the mold, it should be replaced. So even though this was bigger expense, it saved me frome wasting $250 and still having mold present. The camera was invaluable! I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it.
