DEHAVEN'S TRANSFER & STORAGE- northAmerican

Could not have been a worse move. Issues with packing, billing, weighing, drop, storage, and in between. Waited 6 weeks for resolution before writing this but as this has not occurred, it is time. Spoke multiple times with the President Robert Long and he took zero accountability. Now the main office who he passed the buck to is not either. Lost over 22 boxes we will never be able to recover and how that occurred between packing and drop without any justification or explanation is unacceptable and unprofessional. With so many options in moving, you would be foolish to consider this company. If you are considering, ask about my move and if you still choose them after hearing of this and something goes wrong, which after my experience is very likely, you have no one to blame but yourself. I implore you to choose someone else.

There were only 2 problems. There was a picture frame from that was cracked, and we also lost a key to an old cabinet we have. Other than that, everything went very well, and I can say it was a great move. The truck driver, Jim, was a very nice guy!

They have done a great job. They provide that extra personal touch. I had to have my furniture moved to have my floors redone and they were very careful and professional with everything.

It was a very bad experience. They promised us a price without exception, then raised it. Many materials were broken. they promised our things would be put in storage, but they did not, ruining some of our posessions. They promised they would be the move out and the move in company, then they outsourced the driving and move in and lied about it until they were found out. They moved us in one day after they had promised.

The person who did our estimate was very professional, then the experience itself, including working with the same person, was very painful.

They did a wonderful job. They gave us an accurate estimate and responded quickly to any questions we had. They worked with us on some special handling requirements. They did a great job packing our stuff which varied from big pieces of furniture (sofa etc) to delicate items (table lamps etc). Nothing was broken or damaged. They showed up on time to pick up the stuff and also to deliver it. I would be happy to use them again.

I interviewed 3 companies and got quotes from each. They were the most thorough in their review of what I needed to move and their quote was close to the lowest, which they agreed to match. I chose them not just for price but also because of the care they took with every interaction I had with them from the first call I placed. And I was not sorry - the same care followed through until the moment they left after unloading my last item. There was no damage of any kind.

Wonderful. This is the second time using them and plan on using and recommending them in the future. I was quoted eight hours for the move. It only took six thus saving me $200. They said they would get to my house between 8:30 and 9:30 and got there at 8:25. They then delivered it right on time two days later. The movers were professional, quick, and friendly. They did damage one item but will get reimbursed as I paid for the full value insurance. (And it was a very inexpensive lamp.)

I have moved a lot, and it was the best move I've ever had! They were very careful with my belongings. They did give me a discount as a Duke employee and I was able to take advantage, however, their price was competitive prior to that.

Overall we were very happy with them. They were very professional and were very careful. They took longer than we had expected but the price they charged was very similar to the quote. We would definitely consider them again if we were to move. They offer discounts to those who work at Duke and the university seems happy as their trucks are always on campus.
