Brad is a professional who took the time to fully explain all options and exactly how he would address our issue of moisture control under our house. He and his workers are very courteous, prompt, and thorough in what they do (including cleanup after the job was done). Brad is very knowledgeable and makes recommendations with confidence and experience which made me feel better about having this work done. We are very pleased with the job they did and highly recommend you get Brad to look at your house before you commit to anyone else. You will not be disappointed

Works well. Now when power goes out during a storm, the crawlspace drains when the sump pump does not work. Brad has also come out promptly, since then, to address a couple of issues that were warranted.

Brad and his crew were great! His quote was extremely detailed and easy to understand. Not vague like the other three contractors I spoke with regarding our crawl space repair. Between the extensive questions that Brad answered for me, along with the quality of his quote, he instills credibility for the services he provides and makes sure that you understand all aspects of the effort. I am not an easy customer to please and expect a lot from the teams I hire. Brad and his crew truly delivered!! He did the work he quoted, within the time frame discussed with no hidden costs or gotchas. Very up front and easy to work with! I would definitely recommend Brad to anyone that needs their crawl space encapsulated!

I contacted Brad Dehring to seeing he'd come out and just assess my crawlspace and make recommendations. He said not a problem, and showed up the next day around 7am, right when he said he would. Brad is very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. He made recommendations, and when I offered to pay for his advice, he wouldn't take it. Considering the high humidity in North Carolina, and the very average to below average "finish" of my crawlspace done by the home builder, I wanted more peace of mind against possible mold and fungus issues developing. Brad provided detailed options to resolve the issues (potential issues) permanently. I decided to hire Brad to do the work prior to me moving into my home. The work was done when I was told it would be done, I was told it would be finished before I moved in, and it was. The crawlspace was completely sealed, and Brad said optimal humidity levels would run 50-65% and would likely be around 55 or so. With the work completed nearly two months ago (end of May), the crawlspace maintains a consistent temperature of 73 degrees F, and the humidity level stays 53-55%. The work was completed to my satisfaction, and there was nothing left behind, or evidence anyone had been on or in the property to perform work. Very satisfied, and I would highly recommend Brad Dehring, Crawlspace Doctor.

I researched 4 different crawlspace encapsulation companies before deciding to go with Crawlspace Doctor, and I think I definitely made the right choice. When Brad, the owner, met with me, he clearly and thoroughly covered all aspects of the process and detailed exactly what I could expect. Once the job began, he sent me status reports regularly of what was done each day. His workers were friendly, punctual, and worked quickly. The work they did was excellent. The results were even better than I expected! My humidity levels have already dropped significantly, and I am not afraid to go into my crawlspace now that it is so clean and shiny.

Brad and his crew are excellent. I found him through neighborhood recommendations, and he still exceeded my expectations. If I bought another house in Durham, I'd hire him again to encapsulate the crawl space in it, no question. I spent many hours researching crawlspace products, potential issues, etc ahead of time, and I was pretty familiar with the options available, what they cost, what you can expect from them, etc. I had a large crawl space, over 2000 sq ft, and his crew got it done in about 3 days. Total scope of work was to install vapor barrier, foam insulation on walls, tap into HVAC line to provide conditioned air in the crawl space, install sump pit and drain, and install some vented pipe to give options for ventilating down the road, if needed. They also foamed up gaps and installed wire to help prop the insulation against the floor. No more musty smell in the house at all, and the crawl space is actually a comfortable place to be in now, and I'm looking forward to storing extra household stuff in the crawl instead of using the attic or guest bedroom closets. Radon was never an issue at this house, but I didn't know whether the vapor barrier and sealed crawl space might cause it to become an issue. However, radon levels have actually been holding around 0.7 in the home for a few weeks since install, and it had been around 1.2 in the house before the encapsulation, with the crawl space vents open. So the vapor barrier is doing its job really well - no odors, moisture, or radon getting through, and no issues with having it all sealed up.

exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, Brad was professional, on time, and a man of his word. In addition, there were a few things he found that had nothing to do with the project under the house and quickly alerted me with the problems so i could get them fixed. I would definitely use him again and recommend to anyone looking for crawlspace work.

Brad Dehring and his crew did an outstanding job. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They completed the work in precisely the amount of time and for the amount of money estimated and left no debris behind despite this being a very messy job. They removed all the old fiber glass insulation, cleaned and protected the wood fixtures, installed a new lower barrier, sealed all vents, created and inflow and outflow conduits to our HVAC, and coordinated with an electrician to install an auto-monitoring sump pump. I highly recommend them.

REPEAT Business for Second Home done just as smooth and efficient as the first. Up front description and explanation of proper treatment methods for my situation where the reason I choose Crawlspace Doctor. When asking questions of all companies providing quotes in order to gain an apple to apples comparison, Brad explained the science of encapsulation, the building code requirements, and provided options (with pro/con impacts) to meet my desired result. As a Civil Engineer / DIY type that knows enough to be dangerous and takes a lot of time to finish this at minimum time and minimum budge, I believe the three-man crew had better success, using the right equipment, materials and methods, to get this project crossed off my list. This completes my intend to using Crawlspace Doctor again on another family member's home within the one hour travel time zone around the triangle. Thanks for working around my schedule to fit this in on my needs. Cost was a middle of the road estimate, but trustworthiness and professionalize by staff was free.

Encapsulation appears to be thorough, but quality of drainage system and follow up can be improved. During installation discovered that drainage system was too shallow. Had to instruct Brad, the owner, to have it dug and laid deeper. Most customers probably have no idea how well the drainage system is installed once it's covered over with the encapsulation sheet of plastic. During the last storm, when power went out, sump pump did not work filling Crawlspace up with water. Brad would not install a replacement daylight drain without a significant additional charge. When it comes down to it, the drainage system does not work when needed most. Disappointed that he would not make this right without charging another $400.

Brad and his team were very professional, from the initial consultation until the project was complete. They were timely and worked very efficiently. My project included removing old insulation, moisture barrier and debris, sealing the crawl space, new moisture barrier, sump pump, supply air inducer, hanging wires and cables, microbial decontamination and new crawl space door. The project was completed in less time than expected, 3 days compared to 5. Each day Brad provided an update on tasks completed and a projection of tasks for the next day.

Brad and his team did an excellent work. We had standing water in our Crawlspace and needed a sump pump to get the water out. The insulation needed to be removed. They tidy all the wires and treated all the joist against mold. Sealed the entire place. Brad came back to make sure everything was properly done. The inspection came back positive but for our old water heater that needed to be replaced. Brad worked with us and the plumbing team to make sure water heater was replaced without a glitch. He also was available for advices and always replies promptly when we have questions or when needed. Thank you!

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. Every day I received a briefing of what had been done so far and what was to be expected by days end. The team completing the work were professional and picked up after themselves after finishing work each day. Upon final inspection of the finished area, it was beyond my expectations! Thank you so much for an excellent experience Crawlspace Doctor!!
