Crain Brothers Painting

Tim and his crew did an overall excellent job. They painted several rooms, both upstairs and downstairs including a two-story entryway and 2 stairwells. After wall prep (some small repairs in spots) they did outstanding work painting walls and trim. I have also used Crain Brothers in the past for exterior painting (entire house including screen porch) and their quality workmanship and attention to detail are superb. They use high-performance Sherwin-Williams products, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Crain Brothers Painting for both interior and exterior work.

I've used Tim Crain Painting a few times in the past few years for interior jobs and they do top quality work! They are very professional and thorough, and clean up well afterwards. Tim and his brother always checked with me before adding additional items and suggested ways to save money when appropriate. The crew are friendly and work very well together. I will definitely hire them again in the future.

Things went well.  Tim Crain came and gave me an estimate in writing, and we decided to go forward with the work.  He had an opening soon after and his team started the work.  As things progressed the guys fixing the walls and ceilings found some shoddy work, showed me the problems, and fixed things quickly.  I was very happy to see that the project was still on schedule.  The rooms all look great now, the paint is beautiful, the joints are straight, and there are no drip marks like we had before.  My wife even comes into the room now!

They were fabulous.

Excellent; they worked really hard in some tight spaces between the deck rails and the screen. Quality job in difficult circumstances.Will use these folks again...

Tim estimated the job about a month ago and set up a time to do the work. His estimate was quite reasonable and very accurate. He showed up with 2 others within minutes of the appointed time. He went over the work with us and his workers. Then he went to get the correct paint and other supplies. While Tim was getting the paint, the two workers got all of the tools (ladders, brushes, lights, etc. out and began to protect furniture, etc. When Tim returned with the paint they were ready to go. They were here 6 hours and did an outstanding job. When they were finished, the cleaned up everything and left the remaining paint with us. They could not have done a better job.

I hired Crain Bros. based on a neighbor/friend's very enthusiastic recommendation. Tim and Tony were very nice and attentive at our initial meeting to go over the needed repairs, they noted various trim, siding, and window work that they would do. I agreed to their estimate of $2035 and once they got started Tony finished the work in about a week. He found additional work that needed doing, bringing the total to $2555. He didn't get to one final job of repairing the woodwork on an interior window but we agreed I would call back to schedule that. I finally called in June 2010 to have that completed. Almost immediately the window work started going bad and mold appeared on the outside of that window. I also was noticing that some of their work done in January wasn't holding up - caulking and painting was splitting and separating. After a few attempts at reaching Tim, I got him to come back out to look at my areas of concern. (There was some additional siding that needed replacement that I was also hoping to get an estimate from him for). He explained that some of the areas they repaired may need more extensive work and recommended another company since it was beyond Crain Bros. expertise, but agreed that he would take care of the porch post that was twisted and separated, some other painting spots, and come back the next day with his ladder to see what was wrong with the gutter and window they had worked on. That was July 21st, 2010 and I have yet to hear back from him. I have decided not to continue to chase him down. It has taken me numerous messages for him to eventually call me back to schedule appointments for the window repair and then the follow-up issues. Looking back on my experience with Crain Bros., I would say that they are very nice and polite people, but unfortunately don't stand behind their work, which doesn't hold up like I would expect.

I’ve used them before and I got a quote from them recently but I thought they came in high this time. When they did the small job, the quote was high but I thought it was fine because it was just a small job. They delivered what I wanted though it wasn’t a super detailed job but I didn’t but much pressure on them either. They came on time and they did an average job. The first time they came, the price was very good.

Tim and one of his brothers came to do the estimate. They were prompt and courteous. I scheduled the job for a week later. The job took two days to complete. One (or more) of the owners were on the job supervising. The painting included painting over some very bright colors, very high ceilings, and intricate angles. They did a lot of sanding of rough areas before they painted and repaired cracks. The job looks great- no spills, bleeds, all items were handled with care. They cleaned up most of the mess. The crew were hard working- the owners were all very pleasant to deal with and professional. They really want the customer to be satisfied. I really liked that they were very punctual.
