They did a really good job - a little late to arrive, but very thorough when they got there. Very friendly both in shop and when came out. Big contrast to some other pool stores in the area. Explained what they were doing well. Have used another pool store in Mebane for the last couple years with some so-so service, but have switched to this one based on our experiences so far this season.
The girl who helped me was young, so I don't know if she was just doing what she had been taught to do. I told them I'd need to talk to my husband before making a purchase that big and they said they'd put all the merchandise aside for when I came back, since they had already written all the directions on the chemical packages with permanent marker for me. Needless to say, I didn't go back to purchase from them. Upon further research, I was told from some other professionals that the calcium levels didn't matter in my pool since it wasn't concrete and it didn't have any accessories, such as a pool ladder.
I felt very misled and taken advantage of. I'm sure they'd be great if you had the expendable cash and a brand new large, in-ground pool. But for first timers, beware of B and G Builders.
"Unfortunately this customer has misunderstood both the pricing of her pool chemicals and the quality of our customer service. My employees have been trained to sell only what's necessary for their pools proper maintenance, and nothing more. Our loyal customers know how we operate, and that's why they return each and every season. This customers total of the four items we set aside for her pool came to a total of $81.27, not $157.00. Whoever the "professional" was who informed her that calcium is not necessary in a pool unless its a large concrete pool, obviously has NO concept of proper water balance. We at B&G treat every customer equally whether its a $80.00 pool, or a $300,000 pool. We genuinely hope that the post above has not created negative views regarding our company. To the disapproving customer who shared her opinion above, we were looking forward to you returning since you told us you'd be back the following Monday of your visit; after you discussed the $81.27 price with your husband. We would of loved to help you with all of your questions. Best of luck with your pool."
