"We understand your desire to leave a negative review, but the substance of it is factually incorrect. You brought in an 11-year-old Toshiba with wifi issues. We warned against fixing it but wanted to be helpful, so the tech offered to try reinstalling the driver and you agreed. Our error #1: we thought we could help you quickly, but should have generated a check-in and waiver of liability. After the driver fix failed, the techs tried replacing the wifi card, which should be a fast, free solution. Our error #2: we did not stop and seek your consent before doing this. The attempt was made in good faith, but backfired. After swapping the card, suddenly the laptop would not fully boot to desktop. It was later determined this was due to a minor failure of the SSHD. Though you didn't know it, you were days - if not hours - from losing the ability to boot the computer already. We stopped and tried to explain the issue, and our tech's intent was to merely make it clear that the problem was random, but we had every intention of making it right for you. You began insisting that we had broken it and would have to fix it. Our error #3: our tech was getting frustrated with your refusal to acknowledge the nuance of the situation, and ended up cutting you off while trying to make a point. In the long run, our tech worked a minor miracle by managing to recover your original operating environment, complete with every byte of original data - including the things you claim that you "lost" - to a new SSD. We also returned the original SSHD to you with all your data on it. This was done at no charge. In all, you received $392.36 worth of parts and labor for free, a computer that is fully functional with no loss of data and improved performance, an apology from the lead tech, and a detailed written summary of events and failure analysis. We have reviewed and our policies in light of these events. Our apologies for any inconvenience. [This response is truncated due to Angi's character limit]"
