Hinshaw Custom Tile, Inc.

Our GC brought in Hinshaw Custom Tile to install tile flooring in 3 bathrooms and in 2 showers. Richard was great to work with regarding design and planning. Greg and Ricardo were the installers. We very much enjoyed having them in our home and they did an amazing job! Greg is a true artist when it comes to layout, cutting, and installation. His attention to detail was much appreciated as he treated the job like he was doing it in his own home. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and highly recommend Hinshaw!

It went Great and with minimal interruption to our daily routine. They told us it would take 1 week and they were true to their word. Started on a Monday and finished end of the week. They worked closely with us getting the proper decorative tile placement.  My husband and I each had our own thoughts as to what we wanted.  They gave us time to look at placement of special tile pieces to create what we expected. They laid them out on the floor overnight so we could look them over.  Never any pressure on us.  Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable when we asked our questions. They are very precise in what they do. We depended on their knowledge to help us make any decisions that came along. We feel we got top quality work and would highly recommend them to anyone needing tile work done. We will use them again for our other projects.

Richard Hinshaw was suggested to us to do the backsplash install by our general contractor. He was very professional, responsive and clean (important with little kids)! When we had an issue with the design that was made in the backsplash, he fixed it immediately. We did have a small issue with the estimate -- he did his estimate off a general white subway tile although I'd provided him with the specific tile details that were more expensive, so the final pricing came about almost 2x as much as expected. But the quality turned out well and the backsplash looks awesome!

Hinshaw is the tile company my builder uses. When it came time to tile the bathrooms I had a discussion with Richard over the phone and I sent a few pictures of what I had in mind. We wanted to see samples of the 'default' tiles for the guests baths and he said he would drop them at the build site. When we went to look at them they weren't there - I was told that they didn't make it onto the truck that morning, so we had to go back later. I went to select the master bath tile at Florida tile in Raleigh and had Richard place the order with them. When the bathroom was completed, the tile layout on the tub was incorrect even though we had discussed the layout and I provided examples. I called Richard and he said he would have it fixed ASAP, which he did. The foreman also noticed some sloppy grouting where perhaps a tile should have been cut to fit the spot. He asked that it be fixed and it was. Once we moved into the house, I noticed two tiles that were chipped but installed anyway. There was also sloppy grouting around some edges and corners and streaks and smears all over every tiled surface in the house that had not been properly cleaned after grouting.
All this being said, Richard was very polite and responsive and I do not think he installed the tile personally, I think it was one of his crew but it should have bee reviewed more closely.

Henshaw Custom Tile, Inc did a great job. Out of 3 bids the man came in lower. And the work was just beautiful. He was able to match the new tile with the old tile. He was very accommodating. He cleaned up after himself. I will use him again in the future.

They showed up on time, worked quickly and well, offered useful advice, kept their work area clean, and left us with two strikingly beautiful bathrooms -- all for a very reasonable price. Richard uses top quality materials and the latest and best techniques; he really knows his business. He has sources for reduced-price granite and other materials, and he passed those savings on to us. We are completely satisfied with his work and would happily recommend him to anyone. We'll be using him again in a few weeks to tile the floors in four large rooms.
