Tom at PC Crisis has been taking care of my computers since 2013, when the company was located in Cornelius. He has assisted me with backups, setup and data transfer to a new laptop, Windows issues, and most recently handled an extremely tedious and time consuming motherboard replacement in my laptop under warranty by Dell. Tom is honest and reliable. He takes the time to provide updates and explain technical issues in a way that I can understand (NOT an easy task! :), and provides quality service at a reasonable price.

It went superbly, as usual with Tom. I have relied on Tom for over ten years since I moved here. He came highly recommended and I highly recommend him to others. There isn't anything that I have ever asked of him that he couldn't resolve. He even built me a new desk top computer for my home. He is readily available and returns calls promptly. He comes to my house when necessary to fix whatever problem I might have. I have always followed his recommendations and have always been happy with the results. This time I moved to a newly constructed house and he came here to fix what he called a network wiring issue. As usual, he homed in on the problem and solution within minutes. He will come back another day with the necessary small parts to computer card to make things function well throughout the house. His prices are more than reasonable and his knowledge and expertise are top-notch.

Tom did a great job with the replacement and installation of a mother board in my HP All-in-One. He was upfront with the options I had available to me, detailing the pros and cons of each option. He transferred the data from my internal HD to an external drive just in case the MB install was not successful. I later asked him whether he'd be willing to build a computer to my specifications. He offered that while he would be glad to, it would not make make much economic sense for him/me to do so and instead suggested another option. Tom has a great work ethic, takes care of his clients, and really is a straight-shooter when it comes to the service he offers.

I thought I had a virus on my computer. I took it to this company and had inspected. The rep was very good and informative. The price was very reasonable.

I DREADED the thought of replacing my computer.  Tom made this transition a breeze.  He armed me with all the specifics the new machine should have which made my shopping experience easy.  All of my data, photos etc was transferred and Tom spent TIME explaining the new set up to me. 100% satisfied.

Magnificent! Computer up and running after binging it in at 5:15PM Tuesday the17th, and back Wednesday the 18th at !;00 PM. Tom had to work many hours Tuesday night to restore and repair all problems especially for an old dinosaur when it comes to computer literacy! Thanks Tom

Tom used his advanced diagnostic equipment to quickly determine that my hard drive was failing. He imaged my entire hard drive, replaced it with an even larger one, and cleaned off all of the malicious malware and viruses like it was child's play. My old desk top is running like a new machine. He also gave me numerous helpful tips about PC maintenance and security. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of computers--the guy's amazing. Thanks PC Crisis.

He's always very helpful and gracious about answering questions I have. They always perform the work the way they say they're going to and the estimate's are always accurate. If they are going to go over the estimate they've called me in the past.

As usual with PC Crisis, the repairs went wonderfully. We've used PC Crisis off and on for years, and always have been exceptionally happy with service, cost, and personality.
When we dropped off the computer Thomas, the owner,  listened to the problem, examined the computer and gave us a best-case/worst case scenario, along with a cost for each. One of our pet rats had eaten into the battery charger, and Thomas said he'd try a refurbished charger, but told us the cost if he couldn't use the refurb.
Several days later he called to tell us the computer was ready, and even offered to stay late for a bit if we couldn't get by that day. That's the kind of company he runs.
When we picked up the laptop, everything worked fine, including the refurbished charger he'd suggested (which saved us about $40).
Thomas is great at what he does. He and his employee are friendly  and affable (But not obsequious. I HATE obsequious), technically outstanding, knowledgable, and reasonably priced. As an added bonus, the store doubles as a small museum of computers and electronics from days past.
Highly recommended.

PC would not boot. Found PC CRISIS on Angie's List and called Thom. He gave me best case and worse case scenarios and ball park figures on my first call. Dropped PC off on Monday and he had a diagnosis within a few hours - hard drive was dead. They replaced it, recovered the data and installed a wireless card. Picked it up on Wednesday and it is running great. Terrific service and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend them.

I was distraught when I went to turn on my virtually brand new PC and nothing would happen.  I am somewhat of an enthusiast so I tried to troubleshoot and fix myself.  It wasn't long that I realized I needed a professional. PC CRISIS is the number one rated repair shop in the area so naturally, that was my choice. I dropped the PC off on a Thursday and it took Tom less than 24 hours to diagnose.  It was a relatively new computer that I had built myself so the parts were still under warranty.  Unfortunately, it took the manufacturer a couple weeks to get me the new parts. Once they came in Tom was able to install and test.

Overall, I was extremely happy with the service that Tom provided. He was down to earth and extremely thorough in explaining my options.  I would recommend him to anyone.  There is a reason he is ranked #1 on Angie's List.

Tom is always available one way or another.  He is a computer genius and I wouldn't take my computer problems anywhere else.  Been using his services for several years.  Called and asked if we could bring the laptop to him to see why it was acting weird.  Of course he said yes and we went right then which was after 5 p.m..  He turned it on (he knew immediately we had an ad attack) and asked us several pertinent questions then suggested we leave it for the more in-depth analysis to check for possible further problems. He phoned the next day with the news that we had not only an ad attack but a virus as well plus the hard drive was "hanging by a thread", as I translated it; he said it was headed for an imminent crash at which point we would have lost all our data.  Gave us an estimate of time and dollars to get it up and running well; we gave him the go ahead and he had it done and ready for pickup at the end of that day.  Fixed ad attack and virus and got new hard drive and saved all data.  Super service always from this man !   We are using the computer now and no problems at all and it is much faster and smoother.  He saved us a bundle because anything else would have meant a new computer and that would have meant we didn't have our data; that would have been expensive and sad indeed to have to "start over from scratch."  His expertise is superb.  His prices are always reasonable.  Gave us our usual Angie's List discount.

This was a good experience. I dealt with the owner who was very knowledgable and professional and even offered me a 20% discount off the cost of his diagnostic price. He left me with the option of returning with my hard drive if I was unable to extract my files per his instructions. He seemed very passionate about his work. I plan on using him in the future for our other computer repair needs.

We walked through the door with my laptop under my arm and timing was that Thomas Grenga could look at it while we waited.  After various diagnostic test and assurances from me that I had not dropped the thing or tried to plug in something upside down, he hit upon the bluetooth adapter as the problem.  It took some time but we were able to walk out the door  with the laptop under our arm.  We were so pleased, that PC Crisis at this moment has custody of my husband's laptop for virus removal and system cleanup.  This is our third visit to them and we would not dream of taking computer equipment anywhere else.

All three of our computers have been getting slower and slower over time. 2 of them were excruciatingly slow. One morning the third one  just would not come up at all. We called Tom and told us to bring it in to his shop. He promised it would be ready the next day and it was. We then asked him to work over our other two computers to speed them up. He did it and now we are rolling again.
Tom has been taking care of our computers for several years and we are very satisfied with his services

I called ahead of time just to get a feel for their services. Paul answered quickly, gave me estimated cost for the model of my laptop for both parts and labor. I needed to get this fixed on VERY short notice. Tom, (the owner I think) got on the phone immediately to order the part which was there the next day. They called me right away and installed the new screen while I had a cup of tea next door. Super nice people. Clearly very knowledgeable, Gave me discount for first time visit and Angies List referral. Service is clearly top notch and yes I will refer them as often as I can!!!
THANK YOU Paul and Tom!!

They removed the virus and my computer performs well now.  We dropped off the computer at their shop and it was ready when they told us it would be, they were very good.  They gave me a first time customer discount because I'm an Angie's List member.

A dear friend of ours had their computer 'die'. She had solicited various family members + the Geek Squad (where she bought it) and ended up with a variety of opinions, none of which frankly she trusted. When it came time for her to call me, I immediately suggested that she take her wounded computer to Tom. He took the time to look at her computer, confirmed the death of the motherboard...no charge for the time to take a look...and offered an $89 price to move everything from her now defunct system to a new one, along with suggestions on the specs for a new one.
I have to say, Tom is as good as it gets. I absolutely trust what he does and what he says. Period.
