The haircut cost $60, and I think that included the tip. They are one of the places who have different level of prices. I have been using them for six months. I like the way they cut and color my hair. The place is neat and clean. The employees are friendly. They have both a salon and a spa. It is hard to find the right person who cuts your hair especially into an area. This place came recommended by several people that I know. So, I highly recommend them.

Went great. Redeemed a gift certificate my wife bought for me. This type service was new for me and I dropped my shoe in the pedicure water. We all laughed and afterward the treatments went well.
Highly recommend to other fellows.

I have been to this salon for massages several times in the past without complaints. However, the recent turnover of massage therapist turned my magical experience into a complete nightmare. The prior therapist who retained my customer service left the company and I was now served by a new and quot;experiencedand quot; therapist.
I arrived for a couple's massage with my friend and we are both welcomed into the private waiting area. An older lady greeted my friend and I without introducing herself, which was already a poor demonstration of customer service. She explained the process of getting ready and immediately directed us to the dressing rooms.
After we made our way out of the dressing room, she directed us to our rooms. As she and the other therapist who attended to my friend provided individual instructions about soaking our feet in warm water, I mentioned to her that I did not hear a name introduction. She continued to talk, ignoring my comment and finished her instructions. With dim lighting, I leaned towards her and looked at her badge to decipher her name. Even after stating her name aloud to alert her that I never recieved a formal introduction, she dismissed it.
You would think that I would have left by now, but I was sorely in need of a massage as well as my friend and we drove almost 40 minutes to get there. Thereafter, both therapists removed themselves from the room with instructions for my friend and I to undress. The therapist taking care of my friend was much friendlier, younger, and seemed to be under the direction of the older lady.
After I undressed and made my way to the bed, I thought to my self and quot;something feels strange.and quot; A cool bed, not warm or room temperature. Remember this was in the month of December, cool is what I said. When I asked my friend, all was well. It was only my bed.
Both therapist returned and when I mentioned it, my therapist admitted that the bed was not working, didn't offer an apology, only mentioned that she could offer warm towels. The other therapist, as innocent and sweet as she appeared, inquired if switching places with my friend would be helpful. Needless to say, the warm towels was not the greatest idea. Imagine a wet, warm towel removed from an area of your body with cool air drying the surface...chilling, right? The lotion was just as cool and the whole situation was very uncomfortable. As soon as the massage started it was over. The therapist, mines of course, was smiling as if she did the best job ever. When she inquired, I mentioned that it was and quot;just okayand quot;
I felt very rushed, mistreated, and disrespected. The main reason I am writing this testimony is to prevent anyone else from this awful, inhumane experience. I don't ask for discounts and I am not looking for sympathy. I work hard to enjoy life. However, when I am paying full price I expect consistent service and attention that makes me feel like the only customer in the world in that moment. This business is missing the key to successful customer service, especially with this new staff. Massage therapy is not a factory run arena and will never garner business this way. I hope that this will help someone avoid this mishap.
Oh, by the way, in the past prior to this experience, I always received a survey. Ironically I never got a survey. This platform should suffice.
Response from SAVVY SALON & DAY SPA
"Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Pat Helmandollar, president and owner of Savvy Salon and Day Spa. I offer my personal apology for any service or interaction you may have had at our salon that was less than superior. I shall address each of your concerns directly: 1. The "older" lady that greeted you did not introduce herself by name. That was probably just a bad habit and maybe should be changed. They greet hundreds of guests each month upon check-in, which is an excuse and not a reason. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 2. We have only hired one new massage therapist since January, 2009. Our employee turnover rate is actually pretty low. Turns out, you may have gotten our newest hire, which has been with us for almost a year at this point, bringing with her many years of experience before joining our company. 3. "You would think I would have left by now..." I cannot imagine anyone walking out because someone did not introduce themselves formally, but every one is different. I could see it if the guest services person in question had been rude, but that did not seem to be your complaint. Once again, I offer my apology if this was below your expectations. 4. The bed warmer being out of order is our fault 100%. I would like to have the opportunity to make that right with you. Sometimes things break down and it may take us several days to get a repair or a replacement. 5. Cold massage product can be shocking upon first touch. I should think they would have warmed it in their hands a bit before commencing. Again, I would like to make this right with you. 6. Your words, "rushed, mistreated, disrespected and inhumane..." With timing we allow 1 hour and 15 min. to get a massage guest in and out for a 50 min. surrender massage, which is a very liberal amount of time. Perhaps instead of "inhumane" a better word may have been "uncomfortable", which is not what one expects to be when getting a massage. 7. We hand out a "New Guest Packet" to every new guest, which contains our own survey and it is only given to new guests. Other than that our correspondence is sent via e-mail and our marketing partner DemandForce, which you may opt in to or not. It is a great forum for doing a survey for us to use to improve each guest experience. If you "opted in", you would have gotten this within a week of your visit with us. With the "New Guest Packet" you are awarded a 1/2 price service upon completion. We only give this one out one time. I shall reach out to you in a personal e-mail in order to seek a way to turn your past service experience with us into a "Wow" experience going forward. Please understand that we view a complaint as a gift--the gift of an opportunity to correct our mistakes and to address any challenges our guests may experience. Yours in service, Pat Helmandollar President Savvy Salon and Day Spa"

BEST HAIRCUT AND BEARD TRIM IN EIGHT MONTHS! I'm a college professor new to the Charlotte area, with my first faculty meeting scheduled for the next day, and with my hair and beard having me looking like an aging hippie. (There's some truth to that, but I needed to look respectable enough to teach law students.) Over the past seven months in the Charlotte area, I have walked away from every haircut and beard trim saying to myself, "Oh, well, hair grows back and I'll try somewhere else." After reading great reviews on Angieslist.com, I called Savvy Salon late in the afternoon and they gave me an appointment for an hour and a half later! My young stylist, Lindsay, listened carefully as I told her what I wanted and then she asked questions to clarify my wants and make sure that she understood. As she clipped, she asked more questions and I "coached" her. I always coach a new stylist, because my hair and beard are a bit challenging and I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. Lindsay listened and then clipped accordingly. When I start with a new stylist, he/she MUST be coachable for me to get a good result. The others I had gone to in the Charlotte area were not good listeners or they listened to my instructions and then did it THEIR WAY. When I asked Lindsay if she was good with beards, she said, "I really don't have much experience with beards." Honesty! Amazing! Several of my previous Charlotte area stylists had said "yes" but almost as soon as they started cutting, I knew that my beard was in trouble. Lindsay asked around among the other members of "the team." A couple of the stylists said they could do a good beard trim, but they had clients in their chairs. The owner of Savvy Salon, Pat Helmandollar, had been paying attention to all of this. She came over, picked up a pair of shears (the only way for me to get a good beard trim - never an electric trimmer) but trimming a beard with shears requires a lot more skill and more time. Pat taught Lindsay as she gave me one of the best beard trims I've ever had. All of the people at Savvy were warm, welcoming, client-centered - focused on giving me the best possible service and the best possible experience. I was delighted to be there! For my next appointment, I am scheduled to see Lindsay for my haircut and then another stylist who is experienced and skilled in trimming beards. They really do work as a team!

I was extremely pleased. I called this morning for an appointment and was able to get one on the same day, almost immediately. I asked for someone who could cut curly hair. The stylist, Andrea, was very exacting, listened to what I wanted and gave me an excellent haircut. She also gave me a tour of the facility and new patrons get 1/2 oiff on a service of their choice for filling out the survey form. I will be back for color and other services..

I called Savvy and explained my situation, they got me in with Tricia LIttle for color and Adam for cut. Tricia saw that my hair was only partially processed and asked why. ?? She confidently said "We're going to have you beautiful for your wedding". Tricia went right to work on my highlights using several shades of blonde. I then got in Adam's chair who looked at my hair and said 'it appeared I had some sort of the beginnings of a cut over a once piecey, well flowing cut' That is true. He didn't want to take too much off just before my wedding so he shaped it up for me, saying on Saturday (in CA!) when they do my hair with my head piece it would work well. When I left Savvy that evening I had beautiful!! blonde hair, it still is, a month later! Thank you Tricia!!! My cut was much better, thank you Adam!! When my trial run came on Friday, the day before my wedding, the salon (Visions) in CA couldn't get it all to work so she cut my hair in a piecey, sexy wedge style, not far off from what Adam had started. I WOULD recommend Savvy to everyone! I am so thankful to them for getting me in the day before our flight and making my hair look awesome! My husband, then fiance', was happy also and is now going to get his haircuts there.

I was so sick of my hair so on a whim I called this salon on a Saturday. Just on the chance they might have an opening. They didn't, but the person who answered the phone said they would put me on a cancellation list. Literally one minute after I hung up they called back and said they switched some things around and could get me in in 30 minutes. That was the first "wow!" I had of this place. Deb was my stylist and she did a nice job. I wanted something very different and I certainly got that. Also they offer "understudies" who are very cheap and are supervised by master stylists. I am going back to get a cut and color in about 6 weeks and it is literally going to be 3 times less than my usual place. After my cut, Deb gave me a tour of their facility and I was amazed at their wide array of services. This place has a different attitude than most salons and I will definitely go back!

MY HAIR IS SHORT, AND I HAVE HAD A DIFFICULT TIME FINDING SOMEONE WHO WOULD MAKE IT LOOK SHORT YET FEMININE. I BROUGHT SOME PICTURES TO SHOW WHAT I WANTED DONE. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE RESULT. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE FACILITY. CLEAN AND EFFICIENT. PEOPLE WERE VERY PLEASANT. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS.

"While $50 may seem like a lot for a hair cut and style, but how much is a GOOD haircut really worth? How about a BAD haircut?"

MY APPOINTMENT WAS FOR 3:45. IT FINALLY STARTED AT 4:10. I WAS NOT RELEASED UNTIL 6:45 THAT EVENING. I HAD MY HAIR HIGHLIGHTED AND CUT. NONE OF THE WORK WAS WHAT I ASKED FOR - I ASKED FOR HIGHLIGHTS IN MY MEDIUM-COLORED HAIR. I AM NOW A BLOND. FOR THE CUT, I ASKED THAT MY BANGS NOT BE CUT TOO SHORT. AFTER 4 WEEKS OF GROWTH THEY ARE FINALLY GETTING TO BE ABOUT THE LENGTH THAT I ASKED FOR THEM TO BE CUT. I IMAGINE FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS A CHANGE, AND FOR THE STYLISTS TO NOT LISTEN TO YOU, THIS MIGHT BE THE PLACE. I KNEW WHAT I WANTED AND GOT NONE OF IT - FOR $175.00.
