Description of Work: He Had my truck for 1.5 months could not find problem , transmission dealer found the problem in 1 week. I left it there for so long because Angie's list had him rated so high

Description of Work: My son was finishing his 5 year committment to the Army and his 1990 Toyota truck died in Fayetteville, NC (Fort Bragg), thinking it might need an engine rebuilt, I rented a car hauler and went and picked it up and brought it home to Charlotte, NC. After charging the battery and trying to start it, it seemed like it wanted to start but would not. I took the vehicle to Murrays Auto Works in Cornelius where Graham Murray and I talked about it. Because my son didn't need the truck I told Graham he could work on it when he could. We both thought that the timing belt would the first to check and go from there. Graham said he would look at it a week later and he did and call back with good/ bad news. The Timing belt had burned and melted and that to know how much would need repair (if it could be repaired) we would have to dig deeper and fix the timing belt and other yet to be identified items and once the timing belt was properly fixed, we could assess what else (valves, pistons, etc) would be required. We agreed and off Graham and his mechanic went to work on the little Toyota. Once properly timed, belt in place, new water pump, bearings, idler bearings, wow these bearings were destroyed, locking up causing the belt to just rub (versus rolling) and melted the belt; They started it up and all ran great, what luck.

Description of Work: This is the best place to take your vehicle if you need any kind of servicing. I own a service company and between the 5 work trucks and my personal car, my wifes car and my step sons car, we have used this place many times. They are great to deal with, and more importantly the prices are fair and HONEST. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. As far as I'm concerned they are the only mechanic shop in town.
