We were relocating from another state and not totally familiar with our new location. Sue was the only real estate agent who listened carefully to our needs up front. We specifically asked for a non-exclusive buyer’s agent agreement and Sue didn’t hesitate to provide us with exactly that. It wasn’t that we didn’t want an “exclusive” buyer’s agent; we just didn’t like the terms of the standard NC exclusive buyer’s agent agreement. We preferred the terms of the “non-exclusive” buyer’s agent agreement in NC. Every other realtor in NC told us something to the effect that it was simply standard practice to sign an exclusive buyer’s agreement, which signified to us that every other realtor wasn’t listening to us from the start.
We were pretty sure of the location where we wanted to live and we were ready to buy and Sue didn’t waste any of our time showing us property outside our preferred location. Sue listened to us carefully and we closed on the perfect house within 60 days from the time we engaged her services.
Sue was responsive to every question or concern we had throughout the entire buying process. There were three of us buying the property and we had a lot of questions. She responded in some way almost immediately and we felt confident that no matter what concerns we had, Sue would be representing our interests in full force. She was prompt at every appointment we made for viewing property, for the home inspection, and for the closing. In fact, she always arrived early. We never had to wait for her. Simple and thoughtful things like that reduced a whole lot of stress and alleviated all our anxieties.
She didn’t pressure us in any way to make a decision to buy or to look at property that didn’t meet our needs. She advised us appropriately during the negotiation process and we are very satisfied with the outcome.
Sue gave us an outline of the buying process so that we knew what to expect. Sue arranged for the closing attorney, and that particular experience was “frosting on the cake.” It was one of the best experiences ever! The closing attorney had both sides—the sellers and the buyers—smiling at each other! We would not hesitate to recommend Sue as a buyer’s agent. It was a delightful experience for all three of us.
