There was some delay with weather but if they scheduled something everything was done as promised.  If a subcontractor suddenly decided to change they way they priced a service, they found another subcontractor who would work with us in a timely manner. Only problems were when I wanted to add to project and they handled these very well.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate and when the date/time came no one showed up.  I received a phone call after the apt time stating he "forgot and must not have set his technology right and to call if we wanted to reschedule."  There was no apology and no urgency to want to reschedule.

Allen David served in the general contractor role in remodeling my kitchen. A previously prepared designer plan I had prepared two years earlier was used for the remodel. The entire kitchen was gutted and rebuilt and, in addition, one half wall that separated the kitchen from the family room were removed. The kitchen was rebuilt with all new appliances, lighting, backsplash, flooring and cabinets. I was pleased with all the contractors that Bruce hired except the flooring contractor. Bruce let the flooring contractor mess up the kitchen floor 4 times leaving hairs, swirl marks and debris dried into the poly seal. The process of redoing the floors after each failure put the job a month behind. I finally fired the flooring contractor myself and hired one that did the job correctly the first time. I was pleased with the quality of Bruce's work but wished he would have done a better job of cleaning up the work area each evening.

We met with Bruce Ingwall, the owner, several times over several months during our selection process to pick a general contractor and decide on a design.  Bruce offered the best design ideas, flexibility and products.  He provided a very detailed schedule, showed us finished projects for reference and was very flexible in bringing us samples or meeting with us in preparation for the project.  His subcontractors were very friendly and easy to work with.  Their work was very high quality and everything came out with a very finished and professional look and feel.  He was able to stick with the schedule and with the exception of a delay in the inspection, was able to complete the project as planned.  Our only suggested area of improvement is to increase the communication on progress during the execution, but that was minor and we tend to over communicate.
We had our master bath remodeled two years ago by another contractor and if we had it to do all over again, we would pick Bruce for that job in a heartbeat.
Overall we are very pleased and we love coming home to our new kitchen every day. We would recommend Bruce as a contractor for any remodel project.

They did a wonderful job, and I was just very happy with everything. I was also very happy with the price.

He was knowledgeable and patient.  He delivered everything on time and did high-quality work for a reasonable price.

The overall experience was excellent. Bruce immediately returned our call for a estimate. He had great ideas and listened carefully to our requests. He supplied us with options on cabinets and countertops. He provided a cad rendering of what the completed project would look like along with a schedule of when each portion of the job would be complete. He gave us options of doing some of the work ourselves to save money. His price was very reasonable compared to other estimates we received. He was there everyday someone was supposed to show up to be sure everything was done correctly. He stayed right on his schedule and was always available for questions that arose. We were very impressed with the quality and would definitely hire him again..

They didn't do the work for us. He was very professional. He had a very professional approach for what he did for us but we just decided to go with another. He was on time a little late occasionally but nothing too big. He is very professional. I might not use him again because I found an excellent contractor who does an excellent job. I am going to have an additional job done in my bathroom and I would be going to him for it. It is not that I dislike Allen David.  I am sure I would have got a good deal from him but his prices were higher. We found someone else who was going to give us a good or better job on the cabinets for lesser money.  

Anyone considering a project of this scale should be careful to hire someone they can trust and someone with patience. You can trust that Bruce Ingwall will do high quality work, in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. Bruce is also incredibly patient, as he continued to redraw our kitchen plans as we changed our mind and he never once seemed annoyed at my daily phone calls. I interviewed 8 big name remodelers in the Charlotte area (all from Angie's list) before choosing Bruce. By picking him, I got better quality at a much better price. I would encourage anyone considering a project of this scale to give him a call.

After finally talking my husband into a major kitchen remodel, I went to one of the big box stores. Unfortunately, their idea of assistance involved handing me about a dozen cabinet catalogs, and a paper grid, along with instructions to measure every inch of my existing kitchen. With my head spinning, I turned to Angie's List. I discovered Allen David Cabinetry and called Bruce Ingwall,the owner. I was honest and told him I did not think my budget would allow using a designer. He said he would be more than willing to come out and look at the project and work something up, free of charge or obligation. What I really liked about Bruce was that he listened to what my goals were, things that I liked, and disliked. When my husband and I met with Bruce to look over the finished drawing, I was delighted. The price was very much within my budget, using the exact cabinetry that I had in mind! I was able to have some little luxury details that I never thought we could afford. Bruce explained how we could save some money by doing the demolition ourselves, which we did. He also coordinated the counter top selection, eliminating having to deal with another contractor. Bruce could have done the whole project for us, coordinating trades contractors, but I wanted to handle that myself, to save money. I will be adding a tile backsplash and new flooring to the kitchen, but even without these, I am still proud to show it off! Every time I called Bruce, I was able to speak to him immediately, or he called me back in a short period of time. This is very important to me. There were no hidden charges added on to the project. His cabinet installer, Scott, was awesome. He was even more picky than I am! During the counter installation, there was an issue with my undermounted sink. I called Bruce and he was at my house in 15 minutes to solve the problem, saving the installation for the day. My new kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, and everything I dreamt it would be. The cabinets are beautiful and obviously quality-made. When we re-do our baths, I definitely plan on calling Allen David Cabinetry to help.

Bruce was with us every step of the way overseeing the process of planning, demo, and renovating to final completion. He supervised the entire process and even caught a few errors the sub contractors had made - correcting them before they became a big problem. We could not have had a more positive kitchen remodel experience (and we ve heard horror stories from friends). The end result is a spectacular new kitchen that our family will enjoy for years to come, not to mention it will add tremendous value to our home. Allen David Cabinetry comes with our highest recommendation! An important and rare quality (especially in the construction business) is a contractor s prompt responsiveness to a client s questions, issues or concerns that may arise; with Bruce, this was never an issue. He was always available to return our calls and willing to work around our schedule as needed.
