Called several heating and AC services to get my air conditioning fixed. We've just entered a significant heat wave (90 to 100 degrees each day). My usual company would not commit to any kind of timing... and clearly there were putting new people on the list in front of me. Canella recorded my call, and kept my place on the list. As a result, they were at my place 2-1/2 days of my call, where my usual provider would not commit to any date.
I got a call from their scheduler telling me when the service tech would show up, and there he was. He clearly knew what he was doing and had us up and running in a short time. He did offer a service plan... which in hindsight, is probably why my regular provider kept on dropping us down the list... we don't have a regular plan. So I will sign up for a plan... with Canella.
My wife interacted directly with the service technician, said he was a very nice person, and very professional.
By the way, the problem was a burnt out capacitor. So breakdown was $85 for the call, and ~$80 for the part + tax.
thank you, Canella!
Removed the old, leaking heat pump.
Installed the new heat pump.
Installed a new thermostat (at no cost).
Tested everything.
Left the place spotless.
Called the next afternoon to be sure we were happy.
They also do my semiannual checkups and cleaning.
Always put on booties when coming into the home to be sure they don't track in any dirt.
Before they arrived, I had the heat on by opening the line and having the furnace drain into a bowl. They arrived and after looking for 2 hours reported that the line was frozen inside my garage wall. They handed me a bill for $79, I wrote a check and they left.
I went to the hardware store and got the parts for a temporary bypass.
I then, over the next several days, installed a proper drain permanently that will not freeze.
I don't ever want them back. They installed this system in July of 2012. Contrary to York's installation manual, they used my
existing AC drain line as the drain for the York furnace. AC drains aren't insulated because they don't run in the winter. The furnace has condensation in the winter and must be protected from freezing. On a job worth over $7400 they saved about $50 and cost me over 12 hours without heat, about $50 in parts, and many hours labor to solve this problem.
I didn't realize the amount of work replacing the systems would be. When comparing various quotes, I thought pricing was the only real concern. I have learned that is not true. You don't want just any company or any product. Canella has been in business for many years and will, I hope, continue to provide their quality service for many years to come.
