It went fantastic. The workers were great. It took 3 days to complete as there was plenty of work to be done. Everyone was pleasant, knowledgeable.

I called after 5 pm asking prices and when they could have someone out here. I called back at 6 pm and they had someone here by 7 pm even though I’m 30 minutes away. The gentleman (Chase) was very knowledgeable and professional. He fixed my unit, and also gave me a quote on another problem that the unit was having. The price was very reasonable. We will certainly use this company again. Highly satisfied customer.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this company. Always on time polite, professional hard working. I was initially concerned about the price but when I saw how much work was involved I understood. The owner called at the end of day one to let me know he was sending a different crew the following day as they had more experience installing the ductless system. I thanked him for letting me know. His response was” no, thank you for your business”. I can’t remember the last time a company did that. After the install I received a couple of follow up phone calls a couple weeks apart to see if I had any questions or concerns. Again better than I’d expected. Would hire them again in a minute.

First of all I am already an established customer with Canella Heating and Air. I had my basement remodeled and had Canella install a new HVAC unit along with duct-work and I signed up for their yearly $200.00 maintenance program. I am pleased with the new work they performed in installing the duct-work, and the HVAC system. I have two other older Carrier HVAC systems that supply my main floor and second level which I planned to consider Canella when those units needed replacement. My issues however are with Canella's performance with one of the old units..(first time I had to call them about an old unit problem). I basically have two possibly three main issues. 1) Exsorbitant pricing structure. 2) Technician training issues. 3) Customer treatment. I agreed to their $85.00 diagnose fee since the old unit was not under their maintenance program. After the technician arrived approximately 30 minutes late he did promptly diagnose the problem as we suspected a clogged condensation drain. He promptly fixed the issue but had to go to another job while searching for the 40ft tubing to replace the old collapsed tubing that we had also asked to replace. I was at work and my wife called me that the young man had finished his work and the price was $587.00. Prior to the install the technician did state that the charge for running the 40ft condensation line will run $69.00 for each 10 feet. That will result in a total of $276.00. He also suggested replacing the pump which would cost approximately $187.00. To clear the clog $39.00. I asked her to put the young man on the phone and I told him that I would need to inspect the job before I write a check for that amount of money. He stated that I needed to leave work now because he could not leave before being paid for his work. I asked him to wait until I made an additional phone. I called the Canella company and asked to speak with the owner. The receptionist was very understanding and the owner was on another phone call... (talking with the technician). She asked of he could return my phone call. While waiting I called home and my wife said the technician had already left. A few minutes later the owner did call me. I explained in even more detail my feelings concerning my three issues. At the end of the conversation I told him that I would be glad to write him a check for the amount after I had a chance to inspect the work. He agreed to my request. So let's review... 1) Exorbitant pricing... a). Run 40ft of tubing at $69.00 per 10 feet = $276.00. The tubing cost approximately $21.00. This should have taken at the the most 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete this task. b). Replace the pump.. $187.00. Pumps sell for approximately $50.00. It took maybe 10 minutes for the swap. c). Unclog the drain... $39.00. Parts probably less than $5.00. Probably 15 to 20 minutes. (More reasonable charge.) d). Diagnostic fee... $85.00. Probably took 10 minutes. Now get this at the bottom of the invoice... Non-MPP charge was $587.00. MPP charge would have been $426.00. Not much help if I had a maintenance agreement in this case. To add insult to injury... I have a technician standing in my kitchen at home telling me he can't leave until I pay him the $587.00 so I need to come immediately from work to inspect his work. So much regard for an already established (paid up with no outstanding bills) Canella customer who has already paid a substantial amount of money with the Company. I am not a one time event, unknown customer to Canella. I wonder... what would Mr Jenkins think about this ? (Sorry... couldn't resist the thought.)
Response from Canella Heating And Air Conditioning Inc
"Thank you for your constructive feedback. We did arrive late. Our computer software clocked the technician in 22 minutes late of our set appointment. When our technician arrived, your wife was the only one at home. Our technician went to work on solving the problems you asked of us. Our technician and your wife discussed the suggested repairs. Your wife approved at least one of those repairs. At some point you came home, asked our technician to undo the repairs approved by your wife and further discussed the details of the job. You indicted on our phone call that you agreed to the pricing the technician provided up-front for the repairs. Everyone involved knew the diagnostic charge, the repair pricing and that we would be collecting upon completion of the work. You even indicted to the technician that your wife would be able to write a check. Our technician never left "to go to another job". He left to go get the materials to complete the job you ask to have done. You left home before our technician returned. Our technician was working for you in one-way shape or form for (4) hours. I am not sure what technician training issues you feel should be improved. You told me on the phone that you did not have any problem with our technician or his work. All our dispatchers and technicians are trained to identify up-front our pricing and the payment upon completion process before we arrive at your home. As you told me over the phone, this had all been done. Our technician did not realize that there was going to be a payment issue since you had indicated that your wife would be able to write a check and you had already been home from work once. Our technician merely expected you to inspect the work upon completion while he was there, as had already been agreed to. When you and I talked on the phone, I agreed to special handling and bill out this work, but that in the future our entire staff would still follow the same processes that were attempted during this service call. Training our staff to do something different to each client is not a reasonable business practice. All of us, our clients and Canella staff, work hard for the money we earn. We merely ask for mutual respect when it comes time to be paid. The process is as simple as we know how to make it. Everyone agrees on how much the work is going to cost before it is done. When the work is done payment is received. We both have done a lot of work to develop the relationship we have. There are a lot of individuals on Canella's staff that worked hard to make you comfortable. You have spent very hard-earned money with us to be comfortable. Canella does not want to throw it all away. If you need our services again, we are here to assist. Sincerely, Curtis R Canella Service Manager/co-owner"

He did sell a service agreement. I don't usually do them. But it is an older house with a older HVAC system. They will come twice a year and check it.

Canella arrived on time. I was originally told it would take 2 days to remove/install both the Heating & A/C systems. However, they had a cancellation that day, so two crews arrived & they completed the job in one day! They cleaned up and hauled everything away while the other crew tested both systems. We now have a comfortably cool home (old a/c couldn't keep up on those 90°F + days - temp inside would creep up to 80°F!) and I can't wait to see what the new furnace will do this fall. As far as savings, the A/C unit we installed had a very good seer rating. Just in the first month of use, we have had a SIGNIFICANT reduction on our electric bill w/o compromising comfort. We are very pleased with the work they provided and the equipment installed!

Great. Canella came quickly and discovered a part needed to be ordered. They quoted us a price, called when the part arrived, and installed it. The system has worked well since then.

They were nice. They got one of those portable air conditioners which I thought was really nice. They informed me that some crucial part was totally shot and that I would be better off replacing the whole system. We replaced it with a York heat pump which is supposed to be a good brand. If I have a problem, I would call them and then they would come out and take care of it. I was not supposed to have to pay for any equipment or any service. In about six months, a young man came out and serviced the machine. The next day, I noticed there was water in the bottom of it. They came back and fixed it. That happened several times. Everything would be running smoothly until they cane to service.

Installation was well explained and an accurate time frame given. They showed up on time and every installer was very knowledgeable. All of them had great attitudes and seemed to get along very well. Inspector said that he's never seen a bad install by these guys. Both units have been working well. We are very satisfied with our experience. Will definitely be life long customers!

Canella heating and air installed practically every heatpump in our development when it was built in 1999. The unit is a York. We have used Canella for all service since we moved into the house in 2000 and we have never had an issue with any work that Canella has done for us. The tech is always on time and does the job right the first time. Their pricing has always been fair and in line with industry standards. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a York system installed or serviced.

We were given an arrival time and an estimate of how long the job would take. Both times were accurate. All employees were neat in appearance and all wore uniforms (matching shirts). They would put on booties each and every time they entered our home so not to track in dirt. Employees were polite and patient with all my questions. Any time I called or had to speak with anyone at the main office I was greeted with a kind and polite and helpful office support person.

Our air conditioning went out and after analyzing it ourselves and getting nowhere, called in the afternoon. They were there the next day. The technician was professional, clean, quick, and called before hand. They performed a diagnostic analysis, replaced run capacitor, cleaned condenser coil and balanced Freon. 2 weeks later, we called Canella again when our evaporator coil started leaking. They were out the same day to diagnose and fix this as well. I am very impressed with the reliability they offer, and look forward to doing business with them again.
