I had my car towed to a and quot;recommendedand quot; repair guy. After keeping my car for 48 hours, this guy said I needed a new motor. Panicing, I joined Angie's ' List and found Wickens Automotive Repair.
I called Wickens to find out if they worked could work on my car. The owner was very responsive and diagnosed the problem over the phone! He asked me to try one quick fix. This did not work. I had the car towed to Wickens and he repaired my engine that day. I did not have to buy a new engine.
Mr Wickens was very professional and mindful of the repair costs. I high recommend this repair shop.

I can not express enough how satisfied I am with the level and quality of service received. Wickens consults with the customer on every step of a repair before it is done. There will be no surprises when it comes time to pay your bill. It is difficult to find a quality, honest mechanic whose first priority is not seeing how many things they can convince you need "immediate attention." Wickens Automotive will inform you what needs to be done and why. What is critical and what can wait. YOU are in control every step of the way.

Took vehicle in for pre-travel check. Reported that it had been using more coolant than normal but had not been overheating. Bryan found that the radiator had crack in it, likely due to age on the 1999 vehicle. Replaced with new radiator. Also replaced water pump at no charge (under warranty) because seal on water pump was oozing. Note that the water pump was put in 1 1/2 years ago and even though the shop's warranty on the work expired, they replaced it anyway. Bryan stated that they have since implemented a 2 year warranty on their work, as a sign of the quality they provide customers. They also found a transmission hose that had a bit of seepage and replaced it.
Wickens Automotive always provides very high quality work with attention to detail. Repairing one's car is a nice situation to have a perfectionist on the job!

The experience was horrendous! I drove up to what I thought was a clean, well-run garage only to have a nut case behind the desk that stated that he was, indeed, the owner of the business. I told him what had taken place so far. I had an estimate given to me for work to be done on my car which included a front brake job and front struts. The dealer that routinely does my oil changes told me I didn't need struts, thereby leaving me confused as to what the car needed done or not. I asked for an estimate on the brake job and to let me know (unbiased) what I needed or did not need done. I expected him to tell me the cost of doing the estimate and how long the wait would be. Instead, he informed me, after having an intense conversation (mostly with himself) that he did not like the way I did business, that he had enough business to keep him busy, and he probably wasn't going to get the job anyway so why bother. I told him I was a little confused as to how asking him for an estimate of needed repairs was and quot;an odd way to do businessand quot;. He promptly retreated to the back of his front office and crossed his arms shaking his head.
I think I dodged a bullet by not having him touch my car.
If he reads this, he should know his competition is receiving my $900 business thanks to their being courteous, professional, and providing me with what was needed.
Word to the wise, AVOID THIS PLACE!

Brian is very detail oriented and thorough. He is dedicated to quality and honesty. If something needs to be done or doesn't need to be done, he will tell you plainly. He knows his business.

They are very good at what they do. I find them to be trustworthy. Sometimes they can be a little pricey, but the work is good.

Performed thorough evaluation, asking careful questions. Shop appears clean and well organized. Work performed as promised within reasonable time frame. Appeared to give high value to quality and workmanship.
