Not good. Speed is the name of their game! But you'll never publish it anyway, because I'm in an HOA and you only accept reviews from the HOA itself, not an individual. And of course the HOA Board of Directors aren't even on Angie's List. So this review will go nowhere. Too bad.

Terra Green did a fantastic job for us. Chris Robst the advance sale rep appropriately set expectations on when they would arrive and how long the job would take. He also worked with us on cost and timing, to ensure we had a solid plan. Brian and his team did the work and we couldn't be happier. Multiple neighbors have stopped and complimented us on the work done. Highly recommend Terra Green for this level of landscaping.

Terragreen has always been very responsive to our calls for help. In the past they have identified and fixed leaks that other landscape companies had failed to remedy. Although their cost MAY be a bit higher than others, in my opinion they are well worth it. I will call them again and do not hesitate to recommend them.

They have been responsive about my concerns. Currently they come every week to do my yard maintenance and lawn cutting. They also blow out the pine needles 2x a year, and trim as needed. Recently, they trimmed my bushes back and did a great job.

I've called Terra Green several times for help with an old and quirky sprinkler system. For me, their greatest triumph was in diagnosing a problem that another sprinkler company had missed, causing us expenses that did not solve the leaks. Terra Green found that the water pressure was too high and installed a regulator that has ended expensive water loss. Yes, their prices are a bit higher than other companies, but they really know what they are doing, they come promptly and on time, and have been very careful to explain to us just what was going on and how it should be corrected.

Mowing services were fine. Trimming of shrubs was periodic with some reminders necessary. Fertilizing,seeding, etc. was okay per company's routine. However, this and quot;maintenanceand quot; contract, suggested that there would be someone reviewing the property weekly. What we found is that the mowing crew did their thing but no one was regularly watching out for disease, insects or other potential needs to keep the property looking nice. The responsibility was then on the homeowner to inspect the yard and notify Terra Green of any potential problems. I got tired of notifying them of problems, only to have them react to fix issues that were already well-advanced, rather than to regularly inspect the yard and proactively address issues before yard became unsightly. When I made decision to discontinue the contract, our lawn had obvious disease and looked worse than many yards, where there was no company to maintain the property. If you want to have someone take responsibility for keeping your property looking nice and well-maintained, Terra Green is not the best option

"It is always Terra's Green mission to provide 100% customer satisfaction with every property we service. We are disappointed that you do not feel we have met your expectations. Last year after we began maintaining your property, you chose to include the recommended Brown Patch treatments and wrote us to let us know "the yard is looking much better and thanked us for the hard work". This year, you chose not to include the recommended treatments in your service plan. Unfortunately, in certain conditions, when customers elect not to apply the recommended fungicides and treatments, there is no way to get the grass to our standards. Shrubs have a useful life expectancy and many of the shrubs on the property had significant existing deterioration and did not respond to treatments we provided, many of which we did free of charge."

I should first mention that I know a lot about irrigation. I have personally designed and installed multiple systems. After a very high water bill, I contacted the city and was treated like an idiot and it was obvious they thought I was just an ignorant homeowner. They said I must have a leak and if I wanted to get anything done about my bill, I had to hire an irrigation contractor to resolve the issue and send the city a copy of that contractor's bill before they would look at it. So, I hired Terra Green.
First, the Irrigation expert came to my home to evaluate the system. Eddie is as courteous and professional as any individual I have ever had at my home. He took time to ask me about the problem before digging in to the system. I was treated with respect and empathy for the apparently common treatment I received from the city. He checked the entire system from top to bottom and found zero evidence of a leak. (exactly as I told the city) He went above and beyond his duty by suggesting I get the city to come to the house again and this time, he would be there to support what I was telling them. When I got lined up with a city supervisor, I left a message with Eddie notifying him of the appointment time. Eddie called me back shortly after that from his car on the way to the beach with his family. I couldn't believe he took the time to do that. He said the appointment was before he would return from the beach but he would make arrangements to have someone there with me.
At the set time, PJ (owner of Terra Green also super courteous and professional) showed up at my home and began looking over everything and getting a full understanding of what was going on. The individual from the city showed up 1 hour and 15 minutes late. PJ patiently waited with me. (I was not as patient). In the end, the city supervisor agreed that something was very wrong with the bill and there was no sign of either a leak or over-watering. The city adjusted my bill accordingly and we are still trying to figure out what caused the bad meter readings.
The bottom line for this review is this: Terra Green understands customer service and professionalism. They went way beyond the service of an average company, let alone landscape company. I will certainly hire these guys for my next landscape project.

I phoned the company because I didn't understand how to program my irrigation system. P.J. came out and fixed the settings, explained how it operated, ran a test of all the zones, and repaired one head to run in the right direction. I very much appreciated the prompt service and happy outcome for my thirsty lawn.

Terra Green is performing weekly lawn and yard maintenance for my house. The cost is about $200 per month and includes mowing, maintenance of plantings/shrubs, fertilization, weed control, etc. The company is very professional and their work is meticulous. My yard is already starting to look much better.

We originally used this company to install an irrigation system for us in 2010. They did such a great job that we used them again to replace two retaining walls in the front and rear of the property. One was along the front driveway and the other in the rear enclosing a terraced garden.The old walls consisted of railroad ties that had deteriorated over 17 years. The new walls were the interlocking stone type manufactured by Belgard. From the beginning, this was a first rate job. PJ Faust, the owner, came to our house and discussed the job in detail, including design suggestions. There were a variety of color schemes to choose from and we went with alternating red and gray stones. Scott, Lorenzo and the entire crew arrived on time and worked long hours for 3 days until completion. After the walls were in, they reseeded and put down pine straw where needed. The entire site was cleaned up thoroughly in a highly professional manner. The new walls look absolutely beautiful.We couldn't be more satisfied.

The crew arrived at my house as scheduled and performed the full work scope in a professional manner in approximately five hours. Quality materials (seed, fertilizer, top soil and river rock) were used for all aspects of the job. Post-job clean-up was excellent: Driveway, road surface and walkway was cleaned off with a blower and driveway was washed down with a garden house prior to leaving the job site. No materials, or debris was left behind. The owner (PJ Faust) arrived at the job site at the start of the job and reported back to the job site at its completion to inspect the work and to reset the irrigation system zone run times to support the Fall seed application.

We contacted several companies in order to get estimates on this work. Terra Green was the only one which responded. There was an initial delay in installation which had nothing to do with Terra Green, but involved getting municipal approvals for the system. Once approvals were received, Terra Green came out promptly and performed the work. All of our calls to P.J. Faust were promptly returned. Everything was thoroughly checked before the system was turned on and its operation was clearly explained to us. A first-rate job all around.

Installation quality, system design and lay-out was excellent. The owner PJ Faust provided on site oversite during all critical phases of the install, which included the lay-out, the piping and valve installation, the set-up and the testing of the system. PJ also provided several follow-up service visits to both monitor the system performance, to monitor the response of the turf in each irrigation zone and to make final adjustments in the program times for each zone as required. The outstanding follow-up service that PJ provided to tune in the system was the selling point for me in awarding this work to Terra Green. I was informed by another highly rated irrigation service provider that the system would be fully adjusted during the initial installation and that no follow-up visit was required. It is very difficult to make this statement until one observes the response of the turf to the irrigation provided to each zone. The set it once and forget it approach is completely unrealistic and needs to be considered when making your decision to award a contract to a given irrigation service provider.

Terra Green was hired for monthly lawn and yard maintenance from Oct 2009 to Feb 2010. When hiring this company, we agreed both verbally and in repeated e-mails between myself and our account manager, Todd, that no trees should be pruned or cut. Our yard has numerous old oak trees and natural boundaries between neighbors and it was important to us that all trees and natural areas remain very "natural". Through January, the service was acceptable (only acceptable because fall leaves were never completely removed from around the foundation and under the shrubbery). However, things got worse, and on a visit in February, I came home from work to find that all low-lying branches from our old oak trees had been cut off, small saplings from the natural border had been cut and removed, and a 4 inch diameter hardwood tree (which was alive and healthy) was cut down and removed from the front yard leaving a 2-3 inch stump sticking up. Initially our account manager (Todd) was apologetic and he admitted that they made a "mistake". We appreciated Todd's apology and admission of fault. We understand that everyone makes mistakes. However, the primary reason that I am giving this company an "F" is that the owner, PJ Faust, never once communicated anything to us about this; not even a simple apology. Even after canceling our account with Terra Green, he never called to discuss this incident or asked how/if he could make it right. I have since had a nursery replace the cut down tree with a much smaller and younger tree ($258) and I forwarded a copy of the receipt and a letter to PJ Faust asking for reimbursement - that was 3 weeks ago and I still have not heard anything back from PJ Faust or his company. A simple acknowledgement and reimbursement for their mistake would have prevented me from writing this negative review. That's really all it would have taken. I do not recommend using Terra Green for your monthly landscaping needs, especially if you have specific requirements about your yard. Otherwise, you'd better be home each time they come to perform service to supervise the workers, because you may be the only one doing so.

"Terra Green Landscapes values all of its customers and we were sorry to lose the members as one of our maintenance customers. On February 21, 2010 we received a service request from him via email and the next day our account manager Todd responded. A service visit was scheduled for February 23rd as Terra Green always tries to respond to our customer’s requests in a timely manner. During this service visit our crew made a mistake and incorrectly removed a 4 inch tree from his property. The removal was our mistake and we take full responsibility for our crew’s actions. That evening the member emailed Todd, about his concerns and canceled his service with Terra Green. Todd promptly telephoned the member and left a message asking the member to call his cell phone. On the morning of the 24th Todd emailed the member and apologized for the mistake. In his email Todd also offered to work through the issue as Terra Green always tries to respond to its customers. I visited the property with Todd on February 24th to review the matter and speak with the Woods directly. When we arrived at the the member's residence no one was at home. Terra Green did not hear back from him however I decided not to invoice his $280.00 for his February service in light of our crew’s mistake. I reviewed the member's registered letter requesting reimbursement for the four inch tree on April 5th and our accounts payable department scheduled an electronic payment to him in the amount of $258.63. I received notification from Angie’s list regarding the Wood’s matter on Saturday April 17th at 1:00pm and in an effort to expedite the member's reimbursement I will be delivering a handwritten check to his residence today. Terra Green Landscapes has a long tradition of delivering quality services to its customers and has tried to rectify the mistake we made in servicing the members' property."

These guys are great! Pj is a great guy honest and professional, and his workers are the same. I see landscapers all the time, but with this company I don't feel afraid to leave my wife and kids at home while these guys are working. They remove any trash from my yard before they start, as I live on a main road, and they quickly get to work then are gone. No hanging around smoking cigarettes etc. you see other guys doing. They remove small branches and small weeds from my natural areas, and edge and blow off all sidewalks and driveways all in about fifteen minutes! It used to take me three hours! I am so glad that I found these guys, their prices are fantastic, just check them out to competitors, but I promise you will not find the quality of service these guys give EVERY time. I recommend them to everyone who mentions they need anything done in their yard, and I don't think anyone would do their own yard if they knew how reasonable and fast they could have it done by Terra Green! Oh, and I forgot to mention that they did a fertilization package for me that finally gave me a decent yard and green grass, however I just had to move, so now they can start again with my new yard. Thanks Pj and Terra Green! You have given me 3 hours or more a week and then some!

PJ came to the house (arrived on time) and spent quite a while with us walking around the yard and asking questions about what we wanted and suggesting possible options based on the amount we wanted to spend. He said he would have an estimate back to us within a few days. The following week, we received an estimate for all of the work, with several different paver options and the cost for each choice. He also broke down the entire estimate into separate lines so we could see what each item was going to cost. Based upon research I had done, and other estimates I had received last year, the estimate was very reasonable and competitive. I then asked PJ for some references and received glowing reports from prior clients. We agreed on the estimate, and he said he would start the work in approximately 4 weeks. They started right on time, and came every day they said they would be here. They handled all of the utilities (marking and reburying cable) themselves. We have two large dogs that stay in the backyard during the day, and they took good care not to let them out. They left the yard clean and neat each day, with no trash or other messes. They finished right when he said they would, and he even came back out personally to show us how to use the sprinkler system. We couldn't be happier with the beautiful results and the entire experience.
