Oh Boy! This was a nightmare within a nightmare! From the beginning my husband and I could sense a problem, but had hoped it would go away. Oh how we were so wrong. The work begins the second week in August. They decided to do the siding 1st. The workers put up the vinyl using the wrong inch nails. The nails were TOO LONG and because of this poor choice, this created holes within our walls. Meaning the nails from the outside where showing inside. The 1st two floors of my house had to be repainted because the nails protruded through. Now after that is done, we wait about a week for our roof to began being worked on because the contracted insisted on going with a darker tile. We asked him to keep the same color tile as before so that we wouldn't have any problems with our HOA. Around this time, Hurricane Irene was brewing, so ofcourse my husband and I were a little worried that the roof would't be completed in time. The contractor reassured us that it would be done in less than 3 days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,....yes you get my point THEY ARE STILL ON MY ROOF!! Thankfully Hurricane Irene didn't hit this area too bad. The roofers were terrible in cleaning up. They left nails on the roof, nails near my 2 car garage, leaving my tires vulnerable to get puctured. They also left box-cutters behind after a days work. My daughter just so happend to step outside and their razor sharp materials where left in our yard. This is very dangerous, especially since I have a 6 year old grandchild who plays with her friends in this very yard. We collected the items and let the contractor know that his men left these items behind. Right off the back he says'" My men told me they cleaned up!" When we showed him what we found, instead of him apologizing, he says, "I'll talk to my men about it." They finally finish the that following week. Next they were to change ALL the gutters. The new gutters were not picked up yet they took off the the old ones and left us "gutterless". (making no sense) Once they returned, they didn't even change all of the gutters. We still have gutters up that were damaged by a previous hail storm in March. You know there is a problem when your "new" roof looks worst than yiur old roof! ITS HORRIBLE! One of our roof inspectors came and the moment he stepped out his car, he said "O NO, this is all wrong." Our other inspector even said that you don't have to be a professional roofer to realize that his roof is messed up. Please we aware of who you get to do anything in or outside of your home. I never want anyone to have to go through this. A headache that was not needed! Please read and BEWARE!
