Honeycutts Painting & Roofing

It went very well.  The room looks great.  The painters were quick, pleasant and cleaned everything very well.

They replaced several sheets of plywood and also reshingled the entire roof. It was also necessary to replace and repaint the back siding of the building. Jose and his partner did an outstanding job in repairing our shed. We would highly recommend Honeycutts Painting and Roofing to those who request a recommendation for this type of work.

It went good. The Honeycutts Painting & Roofing workers did a great job. They were clean, very friendly and professional. They got the job done really quickly. They told us that they use Sherwin-Williams paint and so we went to the store and we picked out the color, told the workers and then they went and bought it that same day.

It's very difficult these days to find a company that offers a combination of value, quality workmanship and professionalism.  With Cliff Honeycutt and his Honeycutt's Painting, this is what I have come to expect.  After hiring them to paint the house 10 years ago, I didn't hesitate hiring them again when my home needed a fresh coat.

I called Cliff to get an estimate about two weeks ago, and he was able to provide me with one the next day.  His crew started working a couple of days later, and finished the job within a week; delayed only by weather.  The crew was diligent, hard working and professional.  They were quick to address minor issues without hesitation, and clearly took pride in their work.

Great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone.

Amazingly, the workers showed up everyday by 8:15 and worked until after 6:00.  The work was immaculate and they made sure the house was cleaned up before they left everyday. 

I went through and X'ed the pieces of wood that needed to be repaired and I saw one of the painters painting over the wood that had not been repaired. I had to call it to their attention to ensure that everything was done right. Do not remember price.

I went with the high bidder based on representations from Cliff Honeycutt that he wouldn't be the cheapest, but would do the best job. He sold me on the use of car bondo in the dry rot areas as being the best way to prevent a recurrence even though it would require substantially more labor due to the difficulty of sanding it. I caught his workers using regular spackle in these areas. They said they would correct it, and when I got back after going to lunch for one hour, they said it was done. It was already painted. The end result is I don't know if I got spackle or bondo. Also, I specifically cautioned the workers to be careful of two new Japanese maples since they were spraying beach and mildew-cide. One was badly bleached. I've called Cliff 3 times over 2 weeks. He said Edward would be here to see it, but no response. This tree cost me $397 to have planted and it may not live. I'm disappointed that I paid a $600 premium over my low bidder and got a mediocre job with problems.

After removing the wallpaper, they did not prime the walls. They ended up painting over some smaller pieces of wallpaper, that were not removed, and the surface of the wall was not even because they did not prime the walls. They caulked a few areas in the kitchen and did a very sloppy job. They did a terrible job cleaning up the work site as well. After filing a complaint with the company, the owner's son, who did the work, and the owner were extremely rude to me. He was verbally abusive, and threatened to put a lean on my house if I didn't pay, and was telling me that I would be locked out of the house (I was pregnant at the time). I ended up paying the company after all of this because it was causing so much stress on my husband and I.

They did a really good job around the trim and everything else. I would hire them again for interior work, but not too sure about exterior. I had them do a deck and had to keep telling them to put more on. I did have a little trouble communicating with his crew due to a language barrier, but we got it resolved and they did wonderful work.

CLIFF AND HIS CREW HELPED MAKE AN AWFUL PAINT JOB LOOK FABULOUS. THE PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD DONE A HORRID JOB OF PAINTING THE INTERIOR OF THE HOME. PAINT WAS ON THE STAINED TRIM AROUND THE WINDOWS, AND IN SOME ROOMS NOT EVEN COMPLETED. THEY CLEANED UP ALL OF THE IMPERFECTIONS AND FILLED NAIL HOLES FROM PICTURES. THEY EVEN STAINED SHELVES IN CLOSETS THAT HAD NOT BEEN DONE. I WOULD RECOMMEND CLIFF TO ANYONE, AND WILL DEFINITELY USE HIM FOR ANY PAINTING NEEDS IN THE FUTURE.

NO COMPLAINTS, DID GREAT WORK, PLEASED WITH RESULTS.

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AND I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN; ANYTIME I NEEDED PAINTING DONE.

OVERALL, THE PRICE AND RELIABILITY OF THE SERVICE WAS FINE. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS ALSO GOOD. HOWEVER, THE PAINTERS LEFT MY HOUSE A COMPLETE MESS. THERE WAS DIRT AND PAINT ON MY WOOD FLOORS. IN ADDITION, MY SINKS AND BATHTUB HAD PAINT IN THEM. I CALLED THE COMPANY FOR THEM TO CLEAN IT UP AND THEY CAME THE NEXT DAY, 2 HOURS LATE, TO CLEAN THE HOUSE. AFTER THE CLEAN UP, I STILL HAD TO CLEAN MY FLOORS AND BATHROOM. TWO MONTHS LATER, I AM STILL GETTING PAINT OFF MY BATHTUB.

CLIFF III DID A WONDERFUL JOB - HE WAS ON TIME AND VERY THOROUGH. MY INITIAL PHONE CALL TO THE COMPANY WAS RETURNED PROMPTLY - I NEEDED THE PAINTING TO BE DONE THE NEXT WEEK, AND HE WORKED WITH ME TO MAKE SURE THE JOB WAS DONE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

CLIFF PERSONALLY MET WITH US FOR THE ESTIMATE AND ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS. THE WORK CREW SHOWED UP ON TIME EACH DAY, HOWEVER, SINCE THE FOREMAN OF THE CREW WAS THE ONLY PERSON TO SPEAK ENGLISH, WE OCCASIONALLY HAD PROBLEMS COMMUNICATING ON MISSED ITEMS ON THE JOB. THESE 5 TO 7 GENTLEMEN WERE VERY NEAT AND CLEAN AND WERE CAREFUL WITH OUR HOUSE. I NEVER HEARD FROM CLIFF OR ANOTHER REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE COMPANY AS THE JOB WAS PROGRESSING. I HAVE WORKED WITH A NUMBER OF MEXICAN (SPANISH SPEAKING) PEOPLE BEFORE, BUT THE COMMUNICATIONS WAS SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO SHOW THE FOREMAN SOME OF THE MISSED ITEMS, EVEN AFTER 3 TRIES. I BELIEVE WE WOULD HAVE THIS COMPANY DO THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, HOWEVER, I WOULD WANT TO HAVE A BETTER COMMUNICATIONS METHOD FOR MISSED ITEMS.

MR. HONEYCUTT ARRIVED AS AGREED FOR THE ESTIMATE, WHICH WAS VERY THOROUGH. HIS CREW WAS NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING, WHICH WAS INCONVENIENT. THEY REQUESTED PAYMENT BEFORE THE JOB WAS COMPLETED, WHICH I DECLINED. I NEVER SAW MR. HONEYCUTT AFTER OUR INITIAL MEETING. HE NEVER CAME TO CHECK THE JOB, AND I HAD TO PAY THE CREW FOREMAN WHICH ALSO MADE ME UNCOMFORTABLE. THEY MADE A FEW MESSES THAT REQUIRED CORRECTING, AND LEFT EMPTY CUPS IN THE YARD WHEN A TRASH CAN WAS READILY AVAILABLE. THE CREW WAS POLITE, HOWEVER, AS WAS MR. HONEYCUTT. I WAS JUST DISAPPOINTED THAT HE TOOK SUCH A ''HANDS OFF'' APPROACH.

I GOT THREE QUOTES. HONEYCUTT CAME IN THE MOST REASONABLE. HIS CREW ARRIVED THE DAY AFTER I AWARDED THEM THE JOB. THEY WERE A LITTLE MESSY; HOWEVER THEY WERE QUICK TO CORRECT ANY MISTAKES DURING THE ENTIRE PROCESS. CLIFF EVEN SENT A PAINTER OUT SEVERAL TIMES DAYS AFTER WE PAID THEM. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I HAD 5 DAYS BETWEEN CLOSING & MOVING IN TO GET THE HOME PAINTED. THE OWNER SAID IT WOULD TAKE 5 DAYS, THEN FORGOT ABOUT ME, ALTHOUGH I CALLED TO CONFIRM AND FAXED HIM ALL DETAILS. THE PAINTERS GOT STARTED A DAY AND A HALF LATE, BUT DID FINISH JUST ON TIME. THE PAINTERS WERE EXCELLENT, VERY PROFESSIONAL, GOOD WORKERS, AND CLEANED UP EVERYTHING. I HAD ONE DAY OF ABSOLUTE DESPERATION BEFORE THEY GOT STARTED AND THEN AGAIN UNTIL THEY FINISHED.

I GOT THREE ESTIMATES AND HIS WAS THE CHEAPEST. THE WORK WAS EXCELLENT! I COULDN'T HAVE HAD A BETTER GROUP OF PEOPLE, THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND.

THIS COMPANY CLAIMS THEY DO NOT USE SUBCONTRACTORS; HOWEVER, ON ALL THREE JOBS THEY DID. THE QUALITY OF WORK COMPLETED WAS AN "A" ALONG WITH THE PAINTERS PROFESSIONALISM; HOWEVER, THE OWNERS PROFESSIONALISM IS A "D" THE REASONS BEING OWNER STATED THAT PAYMENT WAS DUE AT COMPLETION OF JOB TO CUSTOMER'S SATISFACTION AND THEN HE DEMANDED PAYMENT EARLY. THE OWNER USED SUBCONTRACTORS TO COLLECT PAYMENT INSTEAD OF COLLECTING IT HIMSELF OR MAILING IT, WHICH WAS AN ISSUE BECAUSE OF LANGUAGE BARRIER. IT WAS ALSO DIFFICULT TO GET PAPER INVOICES FROM THE OWNER AND HE CURSED AT ME WHEN I REQUESTED SUCH AN INVOICE.

THE WORK WAS PERFORMED BY A VERY COURTEOUS, PROMPT, AND EFFICIENT 2-MAN CREW PLUS FOREMAN (IN AND OUT A COUPLE TIMES A DAY). THE OWNER CAME OUT AND PROVIDED THE ESTIMATE; I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. I HAD TO REQUEST A DETAILED WRITTEN ESTIMATE (ORIGINAL ESTIMATE CONSISTED OF THE TOTAL COST ON THE BACK OF A BUSINESS CARD). NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED WITH THE OWNER; HE ACTUALLY USED MY RESTROOM WHILE PERFORMING THE ESTIMATE WALK-THROUGH WITHOUT ASKING!!! THE COST WAS DEFINITELY THE DECIDING FACTOR. THE CREW MADE UP FOR THE OWNER'S LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM.

THEY DID A REALLY GREAT JOB ON THE WALLS AND TRIM. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THEY DIDN'T COVER THE FLOOR GOOD ENOUGH. I AM STILL FINDING PAINT IN THE CARPET AND ON THE HARD WOODS. THEY ALSO KILLED MY GRASS WHERE THEY CLEANED THEIR BRUSHES.

THESE GUYS WERE GREAT! THEY RAN INTO SOME PROBLEMS AND TOOK CARE OF THEM AND THEY HAVE A GREAT ATTITUDE!

ALTHOUGH THE QUOTE WE RECEIVED WAS A BIT HIGHER THAN TWO OTHERS, WE HIRED THE COMPANY BASED ON RECOMMENDATIONS WE READ ON ANGIE'S LIST. THE TEAM WHO COMPLETED THE WORK WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY RESPONDED TO ANY REQUESTS WE MADE OF THEM. THEY ARE A VERY HARD WORKING GROUP OF MEN. ALTHOUGH WE ORIGINALLY HAD A QUESTION ABOUT THE COLOR NOT MEETING OUR REQUIREMENT, WE WERE PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO OTHERS.
