They were willing to work with us. My wife had found the upholstery material than what they were offering it for so they were willing to take the material and reupholster with it. Out interactions with them were very positive. It was quality work, they did a really nice job. They are very reputable, they do quality work, they are easy to work with and they are willing to work with me. They are a little pricey.
I have used Angie's List for many years, and most often, I have been very pleased with the providers I've found there. Justin Davis and Carolina Upholstery Shop and Showroom are certainly no exception, and I cannot rate this business highly enough!! I am relatively new to the Charlotte area, and I didn't know who to commission for the work I wanted done, so I turned to Angie's List, and there were so many great reviews for Justin's business that I felt I couldn't go wrong! Boy, was I right!! The first job he did for me was to make 12 cushions for the chairs on my patio, using Sunbrella rain fabric, which he sourced from the manufacturer of this material. I brought one of the chairs to his showroom in Concord, and he did all the measurements on site. The cushions came out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! They look wonderful on my patio, and in examining them, you can see the fine workmanship that went into making them. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY PLEASED! When my mother saw them, she fell in love with them, and ordered the exact same cushion. This time, Justin came to her home, measured the chairs perfectly, and once again, we had a perfect result! When he came to do the patio chair measurements, my mother showed him a living room chair that she had been planning to upholster. The chair is quite ornate and lovely, but the seat and other portions of the upholstery were in sore need of repair. As you can see from the attached photos, the chair came out looking SPECTACULAR, thanks to the skill and expertise of Justin and his colleagues at Carolina Upholstery Shop and Showroom! The cost for the re-upholstery was $1,062. We are CERTAIN to use this company again, and I am SURE that any prospective customers will be as pleased as we were!!
I was impressed with the entire experience. When he first arrived we reviewed the work I wanted done. I expected very good work, and he did that. Above that, there were two specific things he did that really impressed me: 1. When he found there wasn't an existing opening to insert new padding he took the time to explain how & where he planned to make a cut, and how he'd sew it back together when completed. 2. There was one area that he couldn't quote from the picture--re-attaching fabric on the back of the chair. Although this allowed him an opportunity to generate more income, he found an easy fix that took only a few minutes, without additional cost to me.

A lot of shops will not even do them! My records show that we had the chair in work for a little over 4 weeks. Once finished I immediately attempted to call but was unable to get through or even leave a message for several more days. I wish things could have moved faster!"

It went well. I ordered the fabric through them. They have multiple samples in their showroom. The fabric arrived within three days. I advised Justin, the owner, there was no hurry on the chair, before Thanksgiving would be fine. He had it completed within three weeks. Amazing! He and the staff were friendly and courteous. In fact, his father helped with the fabric selection and he was right.
