Coats Cabinets is a small custom cabinet shop started 8 years ago out of a need for quality custom cabinets at a reasonable price. Our company has three employees Owner Tom Coats, Builder Tommy Young and Finisher Hargrove Davis. Tommy has 25 years experience building cabinets and furniture. Hargrove has 26 years finishing cabinets in a wide Varity of finishes. The owner was a North Carolina School teacher and ex Nortel employee that started building as a hobby 20 years ago and following the closing of Nortel needed a job. We usually do medium to high end custom homes..kitchens..bath vanities..mantels..entertainment centers..kitchen tables..about anything made of wood. We use Sherwood-Williams finish products and can match any stain you like. We also paint and glaze. We have a rub-thru treatment that a great on kids vanities. We invite customers to visit the shop while their cabinets are being made. This way they are aware of the work and quality that go into Coats cabinets. We like to promote face frame cabinets due to their strength and overall appearance. The faceless cabinets are not same in character. We do a lot of remolding and have found this to be a good market. Remodelers are usually people with more experience and they have found through life experiences that you get what you pay for. Estimates are free, but if you want a copy of the plans that will cost $250, which is refundable on purchase of cabinets. We have a computer program that will basically create a picture of your new kitchen. A set of cabinets for the average home takes about 4 to 5 weeks. Install is usually one day. If you are building a new home we need to start plans before the rough in plumbing. This way we work pipes around vanity drawers to give you the maximum amount of space.
