Exterior Painting, Pressure Washing
We are very pleased with his estimate. It's kind of cold right now but we will have the work done in the spring time. We found him on Angie's list and then we called him. He responded right away and actually his estimate was very nice. We chose him because he's nearby. It's hard to find people who call you back and he happened to be the one who called us back. He then came over and my husband was pleased. He was very punctual and very professional. He was here within twenty four hours from the time we called him. We will consider using him again.

Kitchen and Bath Remodeling
Our experience with Mr. Dillon was unsatisfactory because he informed us the afternoon before he was scheduled to install our kitchen tile backsplash that he was no longer interested in our job. Our job had been scheduled 3 weeks earlier. He cited several reasons for failing to honor his commitment, but none of them made much sense to us. The main reason he gave was that we wanted to have caulk instead of grout around the perimeter of the tile (between the tile, and the countertops and cabinets), but that using grout was the way he always did it . We had already mentioned the caulk when he came to give us an estimate. We have a lot of seasonal movement on our kitchen wall, and had read many respected resources ( This Old House , tile books, and many online sources) that said to use caulk for extra flexibility. He had replied that he always just grouted, but it did not seem to be a major issue with him at the time, and we had a very cordial visit. 3 weeks later, as he had requested, we called him the day before the job was to begin to tell him which grout and adhesive we had chosen, and we mentioned that we had already bought the caulk (a sanded, color-coordinated type sold by the manufacturer of the grout). He said that he would see us the next morning. Then he called back two hours later and said he wouldn t do the job after all. Besides having the problem with caulking, he literally added insult to injury by telling us that he had a funny feeling about our job and thought that we wouldn t be satisfied with how he did the job. We were completely baffled by this comment. Nothing that we had said or done justified it. In summary, we have the following complaints: Mr. Dillon s last-minute failure to honor his commitment, and his comments while telling us that he was no longer interested in our job, were very unprofessional. Any good tile installer should know that many sources say to use caulk around the edges of a backsplash. Even if he hadn t ever heard of doing this, he could have researched it, or at least discussed it with us instead of just canceling the job. It is hard to believe that a handyman could have such concern over running a few beads of caulk.
