It was good! They took about 3 days before I got the machine back. The price was good.

Highly recommend this store. I did not know where to take my old Singer machine so after I joined Angie's List and saw the great reviews for Fairfax Sewing Machine Service Center I decided I would try them. I called in advance to let them know I was bringing my machine in. As soon as I walked in the door I just knew I was in good hands. They were wonderful, friendly, and I could tell they understood their business. I'm also glad I took the machine in when I did because of the rust and smoke residue would have done damage to my machine if left there. I also have an old Singer Treadle machine which I'm taking in to have cleaned up and fixed. My grandmother gave this to me and I want to use it. They work on them too!

Great experience all around. Not only was my machine fixed but I also learned what to do to keep it from breaking down. He also advised me that the machine I own, which is 20 years old, is just fine for the sewing I do. He never tried to sell me a new machine that I really didn't need. Very honest people.

It was very nice doing business with them. The last time I was there, they only accepted cash or check. The sewing machine was ready when promised.

Price was a bit high. However, they fixed the machine quickly and were very knowledgeable.

Great experience. I was relatively new to the area and used Angie's list to locate a sewing machine repair shop in my area. I called the shop and explained my needs. The gentleman was very helpful and upbeat. When I dropped off the machine, he happened to be outside and saw me struggling to carry the heavy metal machine. He came to my aid and carried the machine in for me. The repairs were done on time at a reasonable price. I was very pleased with the service and will take it back there for any future needs.

I was in the middle of making a present for my children for Christmas when my Singer Futura started acting up. The fabric started to p*****, so I checked the tension and tried to rethread the machine. I could not get the thread through the tension disks. After troubleshooting with no success I called Fairfax Sewing Center and inquired about their services. I really wanted to finish the Christmas gift for my children so was willing to pay for next day service. I took the machine to the store....and he was able to thread it without difficulty. I tried and was also able to thread it without difficulty. When I hesitated to just leave the store as there was clearly a problem earlier, he disassembled part of the machine and searched for any caught threads. He could not find anything and was consistently able to thread the machine. He reassembled the machine and did not charge me anything for his time. I will definitely take my machine back to him if I encounter any more problems as well as for regular service.

I was impressed how they opened the door for me when I brought my machine into the store and carried it into the store for me and then carried it out to my car when the service was completed. I used this company once before in 2003 and was happy enough then to bring it back in 2012.

The company was excellent to deal with - very pleasant, work done well and promptly. I would definitely use them again.

I dropped my machine off for cleaning and repair and received it back within 5 days. The work was done well and at a reasonable cost.

The shop had a sign with the repair charge for different types of machines and that was what I was charged. I dropped off at the shop on a Friday and was told the machine would be ready on Tuesday, which it was. They also explained what I had done to jam the needle and how to avoid repeating the problem. Very professional.

WE called them, we went in with the machine, they serviced it within 2 days and called us to say it was ready for pick up.

I am a repeat customer at Fairfax Sewing Center. I used them in the past to service a sewing machine that was not working properly after the needle got jammed while attempting to hem a pair of jeans. I was certain the machine was not repairable and ready to junk it for a new machine. The competent repair person at FSC pointed out the value of the machine and completed the repair . Fast Forward to July 2012 - for some reason the bobbin thread kept jamming. Believing the machine needed a tune up, I again took the machine into FSC. Turns out I was using plastic bobbins when I should have used metal, and I was threading the bobbin case incorrectly. The technician at FSC checked the machine out while I waited, and even gave me a lesson in what I was doing wrong. All of this for $0 cost. Total time from start to finish - 10 minutes. You can't beat this "old fashioned" service. Hopefully my machine won't need repairs any time soon, but if it does, will definitely take it back to Fairfax Sewing Center!

They said most repairs have a fixed price, $68.50, and they phone you first if it will be more. Most are fixed in a week or less time. It took less time.

The location off of I-66 was very convenient for me. BTW, the address is 11194 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030. The shop is tucked away in the strip mall, but the shop owner had told me it was next to the jewelry store in the same strip mall, which was easy to find. The owner is very courteous and professional. My sewing machine is now working very well. The cost was about $20 less then I paid the previous year for an unsatisfactory job. (I wasn't on Angie's list on the time. Mistake!)

I had a machine that broke down at a time that I really needed it to get back in business with. I took the machine to them. They were very clear about how quickly they could get the work done and how much it would cost. He told me that he would call me if the machine needed more than a general tune-up. The service was exactly what I needed and what I expected. I would use them again if required.

He was very helpful and informative. The problem I had with my machine was an easy fix. He walked me through it, gave me a short lesson about my machine and didn't charge me for a thing. I would definitely go back if I ever needed service in the future. My only issue had to do with his location. He moved some time ago and it wasn't reflected on google or in this listing. His new address is 11194 which is just across the street and down a little further. He kept the same phone number, so I was able to find him shortly after arriving at the original address.

They sell the brand of sewing machine I have and that's the only kind I like and they are the only ones that can fix it. They are family owned and the employees are family. I will keep going there.

I brought in my Janome sewing machine for a tune up and to fix some minor quirks and they did. Professional, very knowledgeable and friendly.

They were very friendly. I brought the machine in on a Thursday and was told it would be ready by the following Tuesday, and that they'd call if repairs were needed other than regular maintenance. On Friday I got a call that it was complete and just needed servicing. I haven't had a chance to try the machine out yet, but they showed me the stitching sample from the machine after it was fixed. I'd definitely use them again.

I have been going to Fairfax Sewing Center for over 10 years. They started by repairing my old Singer. Then I upgraded and purchased a Janome from them. The sales experience was fantastic because it wasn't a sale, just a simple question/answer/demo without being pushy. I've since had my Janome tuned up and a minor repair and the service was fast, efficient, and friendly. I highly recommend.
