To pre-summarize my experience, it was great.  I ended up with well-done cushions that have revitalized the sofa (I was considering getting rid of it, as it was so hard to get out of).  Mr. Parker is quite professional, he seems to take his business seriously, and was not just punctual, but ahead of schedule. He did such a great job that I absorbed the scolding several times to rotate my cushions weekly (which may be appropriate, but will never happen.  I will however try to keep up with it monthly, instead of the few times a year I had done before.)  Excellent experience.
I called Mr. Parker, and several other upholsterers, on a Monday to get estimates for rejuvenating my sofa's cushions, and I had a Friday deadline for completion.  Wanting to give me an accurate estimate, and wanting to meet my deadline, Mr. Parker asked if I could sent pictures of the cushions by email or text, count the number of each kind (seat, back, and any special shaped end pieces),  and measure their thickness.  I obliged, and also put a 12" ruler in the pictures to give him an idea of scale.
Within the hour he returned my text/pictures with a call asking about the filling of the seats and the backs.  My answer was confusing to him a bit because I referred to the stuffing as "foam", but the backs should have fibers and batting.  I found no fibers, but did find batting.  He gave me a verbal estimate that was good enough for me to give him the work. He came by that evening to pick up the cushions.  He was surprised to find no structural pieces in the backs -- it was just a lump of batting. (This explains why the backs were always kind of mushy.)  Mr. Parker looked over the pieces in person, took some measurements, and updated his estimate to cover some worn through spots, etc., (which was reasonable and correct).
He took away the cushions Monday night, promised them by Friday, and called me Wednesday, ready to return them to me ahead of schedule.  The backs now have the proper filling and structural support, and the seats were tautly filled and correctly shaped. The fit on the sofa is great, and I am very pleased with the results.
Based on the actual work and materials, his final bill was in fact a bit lower than the written estimate.
The cushions came out well, so Mr. Parker knows upholstery, and I really appreciate getting service from a skilled person.  I'd recommend him on that.  Better yet, he delivered ahead of schedule, he asked for information to make a reliable first estimate while trying to be quick to meet my deadline, and he honestly lowered the price to match the value he put on his time and the materials.  Not only does he know is business, he must be taking the time to attend to the tasks to keep his business running well.  And he must have a set value for his time,and he must keep track of it.  THAT, I really appreciate! 

Mr. Parker reupholstered a sofa that was in poor condition.  He provided an estimate over the phone and gave suggestions for fabrics to use.  He worked with my schedule to pick up the sofa and drop off the sofa after it was completed, arriving within the agreed times on both ends.  The pricing was fair and the customer service and attention to detail was excellent.  I highly recommend Mr. Parker because doing business with him was honest and fair.  The sofa looks better than it has ever looked.  Thank you!

Outstanding experience with Earl Parker. My wife contacted Parker Upholstery for an estimate on having a number of pieces reupholstered. Earl showed up right when he said he would and provided an estimate. No pressure whatsoever, no sales gimmicks, "commit-now" discounts or anything like that. We decided to have one of the pieces done and sell the rest. Earl stopped by a week later with fabric samples. After hearing more detail of what my wife wanted, he guided us to a large fabric store in Raleigh where she found exactly what she had in mind. Earl then picked up the wing-back chair and the fabric. He had the chair back to us in a week's time and it came out fantastic! It looks better than new and my wife could not be happier. The quality of the work & attention to detail is second to none. Earl is so nice to deal with; friendly, no pressure, honest and reliable. Communications are a breeze, as he gets right back via text, phone or email in a very timely manner. We were so happy with this first job, Earl is picking up another chair this week and we have faith that this one will also exceed our expectations.

Parker upholstery did a fantastic job from beginning to end. They were able to quote a price based on a picture of the furniture I sent over in an email. They promptly scheduled a time to pick up the furniture, and allowed me to provide my own fabric. The chair and ottoman were finished and delivered to me in about a week and a half, and look fantastic. The entire process couldn't have been any easier, and we will definitely use them again!
I also shopped around, and the price for services by Parker Upholstery is in-line or slightly less than other upholstery companies in the area. Definitely a great value for the cost!

Parker Upholstery was such a pleasure to work with!
Mr. Parker requested pictures of the furniture and based his quotes on that. He was extremely helpful in suggesting design ideas. His staff is professional and friendly. They pick up and deliver without added cost. They were careful while moving my furniture and paid attention not to scratch the floor or walls. The work was done impeccably and quickly! Mr. Parker's estimate was perfectly on track with the price charged--no surprises! He repaired several minor things with some older chairs without jacking up his price a penny.
I cannot imagine a better experience! I would recommend Parker Upholstery without one bit of hesitation. I will certainly use them again.

Parker Upholstery did a great job on the chair and we get many compliments on his work. Also,my husband had the chair re-upholstered about 10 years ago and supposedly the chair fabric was removed with new cushions put in place. Well Parker Upholstery realized the previous upholsterer didn't replace the cushion or remove the old chair fabric so he fixed all of this at the price originally estimated. Very professional, highly recommend Parker Upholstery and plan to use them for additional work in the future!

We had a chair re-done (fabric and cushion) that belonged to my husband’s grandmother in the 1960’s.
The chair had places where the fabric wastorn and stuffing was exposed.
I got in touch with Mr. Parker via email in which he had me email him pictures of the chair
and he gave me an estimate (price and amount of fabric) and directed me as to where
I could buy the fabric cheaper than he could. The Cloth Barn inGoldsboro is the place to find fabric!
I found fabric that would complement the date of the chair. Mr. Parker picked up
the chair and fabric explained how the repeat of the pattern would look on the
chair. He finished the chair and delivered back to us on time. He did a fabulous job.
We almost didn’t recognize the new chair. It looks wonderful. We also had Mr. Parker
replace our couch cushions with new foam and re-wrap them. We have a new couch without
the price. We would definitely recommend him and his work.

Mr. Parker picked up the furniture in early Dec and targeted pre-Christmas delivery. Mr. Parker ran a little late with the delivery and called to let us know and offered a discount to compensate. The quality is excellent and the value is as well. I highly recommend this business based on work done for us on 2 different occasions.
