Kathy & Mac did a great job on our remodeling project. They turned our 25 year old kitchen and baths into updated and new rooms. They were professional, stayed on budget and most importantly honest. They worked the projects from start to finish and made sure we were 100% satisfied with everything they did. We couldn’t be happier with the work they did for us. When considering a contractor, I would strongly suggest using Mac & Kathy Edwards.

After the hurricane hit NC I had some damage to my townhouse. I had the insurance adjuster come out and estimated minor damages. I had a hard time finding someone to fix my place due to all of the damage in the area. I called Mac and Kathy Edwards and they agreed to take on the project. Kathy was very helpful over the phone and on email and They did a phenomenal job on my townhouse! At one point Mac called me and told me there was much more damage to the roof than what the adjuster reported. Mac did all the leg work with my bank, USAA, and the insurance. He got the damage estimate adjusted to cover all of the damage to my house. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely hire them again!

Mac and Kathy were very responsive to all communication. They worked with the tenant to coordinate the repairs. I had work done by another contractor which was done poorly. First job was fixing leaks in the bathroom and replacing the floor covering. The previous contractor had installed tile flooring without an underlay and it was uneven and loose. The commode leaked at the base as well as the drain on the tub. Once the work was underway Mac notified me that the sub-floor needed repairs. This encompassed removing the tub and surround and replacing the sub-floor. He then installed the underlay and tile floor covering. This was all accomplished. Total Price $3800.00 Next project was a sliding glass door that needed finish trim and modification to keep the water out from the porch level vs door level. Complete $750 Last project was window and facade work on the front of the house. The specific area was a previously closed in garage. The previous contractor installed sub grade windows and never finished the trim work. Mac sent me some options. We chose to go with completely new windows, finish work inside and out and some vinyl siding to finish off the outside of the windows. Complete at $4000 Its hard to find quality work in Jacksonville, NC. I have used 2 or 3 contractors in the past and either the quality was horrid or they were slow to respond to questions, quotes or progress reports. if they even replied at all. Mac and Kathy were always in contact with me and worked around our time differences (I'm in Afghanistan). They were punctual and started and completed the work in a timely manner. I will keep them on speed dial for any future work!!!

We interviewed a number of contractors in our area over a couple of weeks and Kathy and Mac were an easy first choice to make. From the initial phone call to Kathy to the end of renovation, the process was handled smoothly and professionally. As the job moved along there were changes that had to be made and additions to our contract we elected to make. Mac and Kathy were flexible, easy to work with, offered excellent suggestions and made the entire process easier. Mac is an experienced finish carpenter and did much of the work himself and his subcontractors are excellent. There are so many positive aspects but the most important are that they are knowledgeable, competent, honest, amiable, adaptable, and completely reliable. The renovation was truly a team effort. We love our “new” home and highly recommend Mac and Kathy Edwards and will call them again if needed.

The experience and result was excellent. The "A" grades given are sincere. We have remodeled two houses prior to this one and knew what we wanted and had very high expectations. Mac and Kathy's professionalism and process and finished product met/exceeded our expectations. They listened, asked critical questions, made recommendations reflective of decades of experience, scheduled well to make it easy on us and quick to complete, provided an appropriate level of communication, quickly and expertly adjusted to unforeseen complications uncovered during our project, had great attention to detail and kept the house very neat and clean through the entire effort. Weeks later we still marvel at the fine detail, beauty and function of our new kitchen.

Our experience with Mac was overwhelming positive. He came when he said he would, did what he said he would do, and the cost was what he said it would be. He worked well with changing and evolving plans, was flexible, and communicated clearly. He and his wife Kathy took careful notes when we discussed things, and we never had any misunderstandings about what they were expected to do, or how much it would cost. His experience was evident in the excellent advice he offered (when asked), and he was invaluable overseeing the job, as we don't live in the area. His work was consistently excellent. He is sort of a perfectionist, but understood our budget restraints and was willing to help us prioritize what work to do and what to leave alone in order to make the house the most attractive to the most buyers. They always cleaned up after themselves; Kathy brought a vacuum and ran it through the house when they were completely done. I highly recommend them.

Mac and Kathy were easy to work with. Very honest, experienced and detail oriented. This was particularly important to us since we were not going to be present for the renovation to oversee the work ourselves and we were relying on them to take care of our home while the subcontractors were coming and going. I especially appreciated their recommendations regarding materials that would be best for our beach home and some key design input from Kathy that made the kitchen really stand out. The subcontractors they worked with were equally professional and thorough. We had the opportunity to meet with the flooring and tile installers before installation and felt very comfortable having them do the work. The tiles we chose were hand made glass that came paper faced which had to be installed in a very specific and meticulous manner. They turned out beautifully! The project went exactly as Mac had quoted, with no unexpected costs and was finished right on schedule. We were very pleased with the experience and are enjoying our "new" kitchen!

Mr. And Mrs. Mac are personable, professional and thorough! Upon our initial meeting, they inspected the damaged areas and provided us with several options on how we can fix the issues. A contract with a quote was drawn up after our discussion and selection. The job was done with thought and care, which I truly appreciated. We felt very comfortable with their decisions and work ethics. The job was completed yesterday (10/22/14) and I was sad to see them leave!! Lol I will definitely hire them again if I ever need a job done in my home again.

Highly recommend Mac Edwards, I had them install a very large apron sink from ikea in a regular sink kitchen cabinet and they did a awesome job. Very curdious and professional, they finished the job in one day and that included hooking up all the plumbing to the new faucet and disposal, super clean job!!! Couldn't be any happier A+ work.

From the first time we met Mac and Kathy we knew we found the people we wanted to work with to remodel our kitchen and replace the floor in our beach house. They were outstanding to work with. Responded quickly and kept us informed of any unexpected costs which we all know there always are. They were dedicated to our job and always made me feel like I was their only client, when I knew they were juggling quite a few. They worked hard to keep us on budget and on schedule. I would use Mac and Kathy again in a heartbeat and have also requested an estimate from them for another home remodel. Both were extremely professional and worked around my work schedule. Showed when stated and even entertained my dog while they worked. Would recommend to anyone!!! Best in the business.

Walked us through the whole process. Allowed us to take our time on choices with a few gentle nudges. Remove 2 glass door cabinets in order to install kitchen counter which included a wood bridge from one to the other. They reinstalled all.
Guided us on when to buy various components to save us money.. Made many suggestions including using marble in 2 bathrooms, which we are happy with.
We chose Mac and Kathy because they spent a lot of time with us prior to any work, they answered all questions and we liked them very much. The other reason we chose them was because they are located in Sneads Ferry and my husband and I believe in dealing with local businesses.

I just paid for the labor and I had purchased the materials that we need before hand. I was happy with their work. I thought, they did a good job but they didn't show up on time but we didn't have any problems with the quality of their work. He did a great job. The price was okay.

They were extremely reasonable. Most of all the work was just so meticulous. They were just fantastic. I can't brag enough about the quality of work and the timing. They did the whole job in a week. I just couldn't believe it.
