HOBBS ALUMINUM

Estimate was requested by my realtor in mid-September. Work was requested at end of September. I was told that the work would be conducted within 3 weeks and that I would be called one day prior to the actual work being done. Work was completed within 2 weeks of the day I requested that the work be done. I spoke with two people at Milton Hobbs Construction, Inc. Both were helpful and responsive to my calls and questions. Everything proceeded just as I had been told. The gutters look fine. One rainfall since shows that the gutters are working. I haven't been on the roof to closely inspect the work yet, but will report on anything I see there. Final bill is expected to be same as estimate (at least according to follow-up phone call 5 days after work was completed).

Only one of the installers spoke English, although Lynette Hobbs assured me that wouldn't be a problem. The installers appeared to listen to what I requested them to do, and then they did it their way, ignoring my requests. Weeks later while cleaning the gutters, I cut my hands in a couple of places and found that the installers had used long sharp screws instead of rivets to hold the guttering together. After many calls to Ms. Hobbs, I finally heard from her and described the problem. She assured me that her installers NEVER use screws, always rivets. Clearly she had no idea what her crew was doing. She reluctantly agreed to send them back and they replaced the screws with rivets. Here we are, two years later, and incurred some gutter damage from a falling limb. After several calls to Ms. Hobbs, we finally heard back and she said they'd do the repair and she'd call me with the price. That was some time ago and we've never heard a word. Beware!
