Jim was absolutely amazing on all accounts. On the first day he knocked out nearly the entire installation; coming back on the second day for finishing touches. Watching him work is very impressive, he has a clear focus, passion, and mastery for what he does.
There were multiple potential issues in our kitchen including uneven floors, HVAC in the way, and trying to hide/cover patched wooden flooring. For each item Jim was able to think critically on the spot and find creative solutions. Jim kept me informed throughout the process and engaged me in the decisions, giving his professional opinion and letting me decide which solution I preferred.
Jim is warm, friendly, professional, tidy, and absolutely should be a part of the conversation for any wood working project you have.

We asked Jim to come back about a month after the initial installation to change the location of our built-in microwave oven. He was able to do so using unused materials leftover from the original installation. In a few hours, he had quickly designed and modified the existing cabinetry with a built-in shelf and enclosure for the microwave that looks like it was part of the original design.
I have used Jim previously for carpentry work. We looked at so many kitchen cabinets and had so many bids until Jim offered us to look at his line of cabinets. Everything was perfect, quality, soft close drawers, full extensions and he put soft close on all the upper cabinets also. Jim did a fantastic job on the entire job. When we needed anything he was there for us. Entire kitchen remodels are always difficult without a kitchen sink but he was always on time, informed us when cabinets were going to be delivered and was very good about the timing of the demo and then installation so we would not be too inconvenienced. He provided a beautiful kitchen for us at a very competitive price and excellent craftsmanship. I would refer you to Jim for any carpentry work or kitchen that you might need. Great all around one stop shopping professional for your remodels. Jim was very trustworthy and so professional in all ways that we let him have our house key for the entire project. I recommend Fine Line Construction for any kitchen or woodworking project in your near future as you will get an excellent outcome.
All the work was done on time as promised. It was an excellent job and looked great when completed.
Each days work was cleaned up, materials taken away.
We always call Jim first when needing any type of home remodeling done.
Jim was and is a delight to work with. Professional and outstanding craftsman. It has taken us months to decide on a new kitchen cabinet and Jim is the only contractor we want to install our new kitchen. More reviews later when we have our new kitchen completed by Jim.
When Shane did show up we were able to quickly agree on what needed to be done and he sent me a written estimate which I accepted. The carpenters who did the work showed up on time, reviewed with us exactly what needed to be done, and were careful to keep everything neat and clean. The carpenters and I needed to make a couple of decisions on the fly when we found that the shelves were not constructed exactly as we had expected. This took a bit of extra time but the guys stayed with it until after 6:00pm when everyone was satisfied with the result.
There was some extra lumber needed but Shane did not charge us for that and he returned with an extra piece that we could use for testing stain to match the existing shelves (we chose to stain the new wood ourselves).
We were very pleased with the result and would have no hesitancy in using Fine Line Construction again.
We will not hesitate to hire Jim again, and recommend him highly. I just hope he doesn't get too busy!
Jim built the built-ins off site, and then delivered and installed them onsite. The results EXCEEDED our expectations, especially mine. They are well built, solid and very very detail oriented.
We were extremely happy with at the work Jim did, and would recommend him to anyone! Use him if you can!
Jim is responsive, responsbille, honest, hardworking, perfectionist, professional, efficient and punctual. It has been my pleasure to work with. I left him alone while running errands and not once was ever concerned about leaving my home in his hands. I was fortunate to meet his son Brock who was helping him out at this time for a bit, and so enjoyed having them here.
I am thrilled with the way my kitchen looks, I will say it is absolutely beautiful. Jim is known for his crown molding as well as installing and the crown is gorgeous. "The icing to the cake"
I recommend using Jim and I know you will be very satisfied with his excellent customer service.
We're hoping to having him start on another project for us in the next few months!
We wanted to make a few changes to my kitchen, and the realtor put me in touch with Jim. He is a true pleasure to work with. He listened to what I wanted to do and made very helpful suggestions about how I could do it and make it even better. He worked with me on the timing of the project (I needed to be finished before Thanksgiving) and did a fantastic job! He built a custom kitchen island mounted on wheels (cleverly concealed so they don't show at all), matched the cabinet style to my existing kitchen cabinets and matched the marble surface to my existing counter tops. It looks exactly like the cabinets that were already there - like it came with the house! The shelves in the cabinets have pull-out drawers for very easy access, and he carried this feature over to the pantry as well. Now I have tons of storage and it's all easy to get to. Jim was always on time, was very considerate, always left his work area cleaner than it was when he arrived. I will absolutely contact him for my next interior project since I know I'll get an excellent result.
The building supply company delivered my cabinets very late on a Friday evening, asked for a signature confirming that I received the cabinets, and confirmed that the installer would be at my home on Monday morning. I don't remember being told that the work that I had paid them to do was being sub-contracted out. The installer arrived early and unboxed all of the cabinets, set up all of the saws, tables, etc. I was skeptical that one person could install a kitchen full of cabinets in one day , but he assured me that he could and that he would. The installer was Jim Ferrell.
He was very focused and fast. He laid out all of the cabinets, based on the schematic, and he went to work. My skepticism and stress vanished by the time that he had put up a couple of cabinets and I realized how lucky I was that Jim Ferrell was the subcontractor that they sent to do my kitchen. He cleaned up every box and swept up every bit of saw dust on my floor and in my cabinets.
He finished all of the installation in the time frame that he said he would. There was not a scratch or nick on any of my gorgeous cabinets and they looked great! Recently I found out that Jim has a company, Fine Line Construction. I was happy to be able to write a review for his new company and to tell all of the homeowners out there looking for a professional, that they have found one in him. I am looking forward to Jim putting in closet organizers in my bedrooms, and cabinetry and vanities in my bath during Phase II of our remodel. And I am still enjoying my new kitchen.
Jim is a very hard working, sincere and GOOD carpenter and woodworker. He was always here when he said he would be and left
work area neat as possible for that day.
He often had suggestions and ideas that worked well and were very helpful during the job.
All his work is excellent and we consider him to be a true craftsman at what he does. He is a great guy and we would recommend him to anyone looking for a job well done.
We call him first for any work that we have to do and will in the future.
