Work was going very well. The painters were working in the den the day of our move. The den had a chair rail that originally had dark paint underneath and light above. All to be painted light grey. It was dusk when we arrived at the house and the painters were packing up for the day. In the dim light the formerly dark section under the chair rail appeared to be a different shade of gray than the section above the chair rail. My wife, myself, and one of the movers made that comment without being asked. This was a curiosity, not a problem. The next morning the paint crew returned at 8:30 and went directly to work. In the morning light, the paint shades above and below the rail still didn't look exactly the same. So I called Tom Creech, the owner, and asked him if he had plans to visit the job site that day. He replied Yes, and I tried to ask him to stop by and tell me if he thought the paint under the rail needed another coat, or if it was the light. I just wanted his opinion, I did not have a problem with the work and remarked to my wife before she left for work that I didn't mind what the answer was, as long as Tom looked it over on his stop by. Unfortunately Mr Creech became unjustifiably angry over the phone. I was unable to complete my statements because he was talking over me, angrily asking questions like, "What makes you think your wall is two different colors?" When I replied that the first three people to walk in the house (me, my wife, a mover) made the observation, but the light was dim, he interrupted me, talking over me, and said, "Well why didn't you hire those three f***king people to paint your Go**amn house, then?!!!" I tried to explain that I wasn't upset, and just wanted his call on the situation, but he was extremely agitated and would not listen to me. Apparently Mr. Creech immediately hung up and drove to my home, where he burst out of his vehicle, stormed up the driveway, and when I greeted him, snarled, "Show me where the f***king paint is two colors!" He entered my home and upped his rage. "There's no Go**amn light in this f**king room! You can't see anything! Who made you a Go**amn paint expert?" Again, I tried to explain that I wasn't angry, and just wanted his call on the situation. He responded by asking why I made him drive all the way out, on an urgent matter, when all I had to do was ask one of the paint crew, that I was calling his crew Go**amn liars, that I was insulting their professionality, and that I was wasting his time having him come out to the job site for a STUPID reason. I am not a doctor, but Mr. Creech has a MAJOR language and anger control issue. There is no excuse ever to come into a working job in a customer's home and react with such over-the-top and uncalled-for verbal agression, profane belittement, and red-faced shouting insulting intimidation. If you've ever looked at an unbalanced individual in the middle of a red-faced, out-of-control anger fit, that's what I experienced with 6 foot tall, 240 lb Tom Creech, in the sanctity of my home, in the middle of a job, where I WAS NOT UNHAPPY IN THE LEAST. However, such a disproportionate and entirely out of place screaming fit was frankly hard to even comprehend. Mr. Creech kept shouting, "I can never please you!" when *I HAD NO COMPLAINT* about the work. I had no preferred answer to the question I asked him, I just wanted his professional opinion, and as the hiring agent I should be able to freely ask questions about the job in process to the contractor through whom I hired the crew... and who quoted the job. Mr. Creech then stopped all paint work in the house and forced each painter to come answer ridiculous questions as a show trial: Gerardo! Did you paint this man's walls two different colors? (No.) Frank! Did you paint these walls two different colors? (No.) This was ridiculous and insulting. There was ONE 5 gal can of gray paint in the garage. EVERYBODY knew that. I never said two different colors were applied... but when Tom Creech becomes angry (for reasons unknown, even) he speaks to everyone as a 2 year old child, including employees and hiring clients. So he was showing his a**, belligerently making a scene in my home to prove a point no one believed in the first place. Mr. Creech's tantrum continued for nearly 40 minutes, including after I asked him to just drop the matter three times and let the crew go back to work. He continued to rant and rave highly agitated nonsense, then three separate times ordered the crew to cease work, pack up, and leave--part of the threats he will roll out if someone does not cow down to his red faced belittlement, insults, intimidation, and threats. I was flabbergasted at this display. I really needed my house painted, things were going well, and this nut job loses his mind inside my home... BECAUSE I ASKED A QUESTION about the job under way... and wasn't trying to get him to answer a specific way. He took a simple neutral question and turned it into a personal attack against him, his crew, and now he's telling me he's quitting and pulling the crew off the job, unfinished. During this incredibly gross, frightening, and uncalled for episode, I called my wife to let her know that Tom Creech was having some sort of a bipolar manic-depressive tantrum in our home and threatening to leave while he was out in the yard with one of the painters he'd pulled off work. She was still on the line when Tom came back in the house, and again attacked me in a shouting fit for letting the painters in that morning at 8:30 (which the crew had agreed to the prior day!) instead of 7:30. This was the morning after our move. We were up the night before until 3 am unpacking and setting up the bed--we got less than four hours of sleep, and Tom Creech called us "Giant F**king Selfish A*******" for not letting his painters in at 7:30... The wife heard that on the phone. She was at work. She could not understand any reason why Tom Creech could possibly be so upset or angry when WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE JOB. If you hire Creech Brothers Painting, they have a skilled and conscientious crew. The owner/manager, however, is a ticking time bomb of unexplainable rage, profanity, threats, and high-school drama queen fits of pique and bluster over events that happen ONLY IN HIS MIND. If something, anything, related to you, your paint crew, or not, upsets Tom Creech, you could be in for a display of screaming and tantrums you've never seen in a grown business owner. I should have called 911 when he refused to return home and let the paint crew go back to work--instead he stayed, yelled in my face, kept making threats to leave the job, and even said if I did not "shake his hand and say OK" he would call the job off on the spot. I shook his hand. The painters finished the day's work and packed up. The next morning my wife called Tom Creech up and fired him. My house is a half painted mess. WE WERE HAPPY. WE HAD A QUESTION TO ASK THE OWNER. That was enough for the owner to show up up in a red-faced, cursing, threatening, job-interrupting fury. What the hell kind of way to do business is that? If you're reading this wondering, "something's missing. He's not telling it all. People just don't go nuts like that over nothing..." I don't blame you. That's what was going through my head when the man was in my home accusing me of thing after thing that I never said or did. Something is very wrong with Mr. Creech and his ability to control his emotions, and he does not need to be in people's homes acting completely out of control and unable to hold a civil conversation. Though I have recommended Creech Brothers Painting to others for nearly 20 years, I cannot do so any longer. The owner's mental health has deteriorated to the point that if a customer should ask a question, or heaven forbid, have a punch list item for touch-up, there is a very real likelihood that Mr. Creech will treat the inquiry as a hostile personal attack, and respond entirely out of proportion and character for the situation. I am a 6'3" 260 lb man, and I did not feel safe with Tom Creech pitching an out of control tantrum in my home over NOTHING. If you do not want your wife, c
