A couple of bits of feedback for those looking into using this business: 1. They will appear like they're all for finishing your job until it's time to get the last bit done. Then they'll have all of the money and not complete the work. It will go fine for the first 3/4 and then your job will not matter to them to have finished. 2. The team at Sandusky Construction were often late, told me they expected to finish the work in a week and it has been months and they're now refusing to ever finish it. There were even several days where they didn't show up at all, and weren't going to tell me had I not hounded the owner and his assistant to figure out why. 3. The owner had an assistant helping, and she left. No one was informed so we spent a while reaching out to the assistant as instructed but after a week she finally said she didn't work for them anymore. 4. The actual work that was done was adequate, but it was NOT good. There's several thousands of dollars worth of work that has to be done to fix what they did, and they will not even come back out to do it themselves. I'm having to work around that. 5. Small claims court will be working to get my money back from them. The owner of this company is a good person, lulls you into a sense of security, but then they bite off more than they can chew (so to speak) and take your money with no intent to give any back despite work not being finished. Find another company for your work, trust me.

In May 2014, I noticed some flashing issues and contacted Scott Sandusky, the owner, to have this repaired.  He promised a return call which never happened.  I called twice more, no response.  I do understand companies are busy and allowed appropriate amount of time and opportunities to connect but he never replied.

Sales calls went terrific- we heard everything we wanted to hear, contractor was responsive and communication was excellent.
When the job started it all fell apart.  Sent unsupervised, unskilled, non-English speaking labor.  During removal of materials they damaged several windows (scratched them by throwing down of removed shingles) and put tar/asphalt marks all over brick on all sides of house (they had to come back and clean off).  Got tar marks all over concrete driveway (they had to come back and clean).  Did an absolutely horrible job on new flashing (they tried to fix twice and then had to bring in a third party to try to fix).  They damaged gutters with ladders all around house (they had to replace).  Found problems with sheeting/support on roof on garage section and did not fix, just shingled over (was told they were going to report and fix any problems they found).  Did not shingle around vent fans correctly. Many newly installed shingles got damaged during project.  Overall workmanship is poor with peaks and valleys looking rough and poorly finished.
A piece of flashing is visible around a chimney in a flat area that is supposed to be completely shingled.  Called contractor about fixing the exposed flashing (we thought a shingle blew off).  He would never answer the phone and never returned calls over a period of several weeks.  Finally showed up unannounced weeks later (he didn't expect me to be home) and said he had been "very busy."  Told me he would take care of exposed flashing.  I made the mistake of trusting him to take care of it properly and didn't watch.  All they did was put caulking around it so we still have a section of exposed light color flashing on a dark brown roof (can be seen from half a mile away).  I tried to stop him when I realized they didn't fix it and he had already took off.  Called him on the cell before he could even leave the neighborhood and he didn't pick up.  Refuses to answer the phone or return calls.
I am seriously considering legal action for breach of contract.  We are beyond disappointed with the work that was done on our home.  This roof was sold to us to last our lifetimes - we paid top dollar for the best materials and workmanship.  We have ZERO confidence in this roof.
These guys are not competent roofers and you need to STAY AWAY.

We had a hail storm a while back and my neighbor was getting his roof replaced.  So I called Sandusky Construction to come out and get an estimate to replace mine.  Scott came out and climbed on the roof and took measurements and explained to me what the hail damage looked like.  He also said I had some wind damage and advised that I get the shingles replaced and that in most cases homeowners insurance would cover it.  So he asked for my policy so he could call and speak with my agent while at my house.  He took care of everything.  The insurance company sent out an adjuster to come look at it and Scott came back over to look at it with the adjuster and show him the damage.  The insurance company approved the estimate about 4 days later, the supplies were ordered and date set.  The supplies were delivered and the next morning Sandusky's team came out early in the morning and started work.  I thought for sure it would be a longer process but they were finished by the time the sun went down.  The men on the team picked up all the debris that had fallen and left my yard spotless. Needless to say, I was very impressed with their work and professionalism.  I have already recommended this company to a few neighbors.
