I would not hire this engineer again. He was referred by Ram Jack in 2009 for a structural foundation assessment and signed off on them installing a pier at a 5 foot depth in soil on top of a rock that was not load bearing. 10 years later Ram Jack refuses to fix the situation per another certified engineers assessment under their lifetime warranty, and his personal liability expires after 6 years. Either he is incompetent, or he is doing people favors.

Structural engineer spent time digging at corner of foundation to determine best way to approach the solution to the problem. Report write up was very thorough and communication from initial appointment to expectation of final report was fantastic.

Mr Yates inspected and photographed the area. He accepted payment and told me he had a medial issue to handle, but he would try to get me the report to me by the end of the week. to date, Due a communication issue the report was delayed. It was excellent

"Dear {Member's name} I visited your home the afternoon of October 26, 2015. I took 75 pictures and recorded 44 WAV files describing damage to the floor framing beneath your kitchen. I collated the data retrieved and prepared a formal AutoCAD drawing of the floor framing beneath your kitchen. I mounted 47 of the pictures I took to clarify the extent of the damage in the preparation of a "photo essay" report. I then prepared a written narrative describing the structural deficiencies observed, the I determined the cause of the deficiencies and described the possible implications were structural repairs not implemented. Most importantly, I specified the exact structural repairs required. I sent the reports to you on Friday morning at 6:53 AM. I included the names of two reputable structural repair contractors. Regrettably I did not send the report to your exact email address. You called me the next week and let me know you had not received the report. I sent the report to the correct address at 12:11 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015. I'm sick to learn that you still haven't received the report. I will hand deliver hard copies to you this morning, Friday, December 4, 2015. I would hope you would accept my apology and so inform Angie's List, that this issue is nothing more than a technical glitch. Thanks."

Wynn literally saved us over $50,000!! He found major structural defects in the home we were buying during inspection. Because of his inspection, we were able to negotiate with the sellers to have the items fixed so we could bring our family into a safe and sound home. We can't thank Wynn enough for what he's done for us!

Mr. Yates arrived on time in the afternoon. He performed a thorough inspection of the house including spending quite a bit of time in the very tight crawlspace and in the very hot attic (outdoor temperature was in the 90'so the attic was very hot). Mr. Yates did a very thorough job and spent over 3 hours at the house. He was very friendly as well. Several days later I received a very thorough and well done report detailing problem areas and repair recommendations. Mr. Yates made recommendations on what needed to be repaired, how to repair it, and noted areas that were not a problem. Overall I was very impressed and pleased with the service that Mr. Yates performed and I would highly recommend him.

Wynn was absolutely amazing. He is a Rock Star of structural engineers, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a true expert. He did not just use mathematical formulas to make a decision. He was up on ladders, taking pictures, measuring actual deflection of the trusses and so forth. The recorded everything he saw with pictures and audio to remind himself of exactly what he took the picture of & provided a detailed report that left the other engineer with no room to argue. It was fantastic to witness.
He completely proved the builders engineer wrong; and showed exactly why & what was out of compliance with building code. The builder's engineer tried to get out of it the cheaper way, and not do as much work as Wynn recommended, and ended up having to redo it all the way Wynn stated in the report. This was due to the way Wynn examined the ACTUAL construction, and not just what was in the computer.
It ended up that the trusses that were called for in the blueprints were actually manufactured incorrectly. So without physically inspecting the trusses themselves, there was no way to understand the TRUTH behind why the floor was sloping under zero load.
To add icing to the cake, he inspected more than what he was hired for, and also found another problem with my house that was completely missed by the builder and the county inspector!

They came to the house and did an in depth review of the interior, exterior, and crawl space. They provided detailed information as to why things were as they were in the house and why I needn't worry about structural problems. Since there were no issues to be found, I was not charged for this service. I will definitely call upon this firm again for my future needs!

The man who came out was really nice, flexible and pretty fast especially since it is hard to get structural engineers to come out nowadays. He was absolutely professional and he was out here in a timely manner.

Absolutely wonderful. Everything went well, I called on a sunday and the next day I got a phone call to come and take a look at our situation. Very polite, timely, consistent, and wore shoe covers inside our house ( he didn't even have too). Just wonderful all around.

Wynn was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. I crawled under the house with him and we had a great chat while he photographed each issue and talked to me about what the problem and solution was. He followed up several of the issues with level measurements on the first floor, confirming the problems by finding dipping/sinking where he expected to find it. His report contained certified repairs that would be necessary for each issue (no menu to choose from, just THE solution which cuts out any communication problems or half-fixes) and he oversaw those repairs before closing.
I highly recommend Wynn for structural engineering services of the kind that I required and would use him again.

Mr. Yates was referenced by a contractor to ensure the structural integrity if more load is added to a balcony. (The plan was to add a concrete layer to the balcony floor.) He came up with an analysis/report and we were charged $850. We were shocked with that price. But we were told that his hourly rate was $85 and he had to spend quite a few hours with the report. Then we started the work as per her his instructions. The plan is that Mr. Yates would periodically visit the work site to make sure the contractor is doing the right thing OR follow his report. re wouldn't be any structural issues

Wynn did an outstanding job determining the specific problems and assisted me with getting an estimate from a licensed structural contractor. I was then able to use that information to negotiate an offsetting reduction on the price of the home from the seller, as he provided a detailed report of the issues with the information necessary to prove my case. Throughout the process, Wynn was timely and responsive. He understood that time was of the essence due to the timeline of our negotiations & closing...and even worked through a weekend to deliver his findings promptly. After we closed, I hired Wynn to design the appropriate repairs and inspect the work done by our contractor to resolve the issues. He was an outstanding advocate for us and we are now certain that the problems with our new home are resolved permanently. Although it may seem at first glance that we paid a lot for his services...it was worth every penny. It was a complex set of problems and required several visits to the home to diagnose, design a solution and inspect the work. I believe his pricing is competitive for the value received and therefore rated it an "A". I highly recommend Wynn's services to any homeowner who has a significant structural issue.
