I took my car to Woodie's Auto on Aug.15, computer diagnostic analysis done and charged 114.95 but the results were not listed on my receipt. I asked to see the results and was told once repairs are made not able to bring the results back up. I was told the estimate was going to be 1644.37 for all the repairs, The repairs : alternator assembly remove and replace three days, new battery, starter assembly replaced. camshaft position and crankshaft remove and replaced, plus an oil change, I had agree to go forward repairs after discussing with my brother and male friend. Two days later returned my car to shop before it stalled out and luckily one of the owner's Brad Woodie was there on a Sunday, told him what was wrong and left my car at shop and Mr. Woodie gave me a ride home. On Monday I was told I needed a new ignition coil, another 144.00 but I was very upset so the labor of 30.00 was deducted, several days later took my car in after asking for a refund since the problem has not been resolved, and was told to come back and the problem will be resolved at no cost. when I picked up the car ,no explanation as to what the problem was. For now my car seems to be working properly, but not totally convinced.

My car was difficult to start Tuesday morning (1/26/2016) and once I got it started and completed my scheduled time at the Humane Society of Charlotte, I stopped by Woodies on the way home.  Although I had purchased the most recent battery from them 2 years ago, they checked it and found it marginal and recommended a replacement.  They gave me a $50 credit as a prorate against to expected life of the first battery and I was on my way.  I trust Woodies on South Boulevard for all of my auto maintenance.  I drive a 2000 Honda CVR with 153,000 miles on it and they keep it in top shape for me.  I trust those guys and they have never let me down.  I wouldn't have my car serviced anywhere else!

I went to Woodie's on South Blvd. for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was very happy with my experience and have decided to make Woodie's my regular mechanics. They looked the car over and said the issue I had been concerned about was very slight and not an issue that posed problems at this time. They noted another issue that might be of concern in the future but wasn't a problem yet and advised me to keep an eye on it, and made a slight adjustment to my brakes to save wear and tear but otherwise said everything looked good. How often do you go to a mechanic and have them not try to tell you 20 things are wrong with your car that need fixing immediately? And it was so convenient. The free shuttle took me to work downtown (I wasn't even late for work) and picked me up again when the car was ready later that day. How much more convenient does it get?

We own a 2004 Mazda 6 that we purchased new in 2003. It now has 103,000 on it. Other then a new fuel pump, brakes and tires we have never had problem one. Flash forward to 2015 when I notice a small spot of oil on the garage floor. Old car has oil leaks? So I do what every savvy person does - I try to self diagnostics via Google. Anyway, I get paranoid because I see nasty words like "new head gasket" pass before my eyes.
As we are transplants from California we truly had no idea of mechanics reps in the area. I definitely didn't want to take it to the Mazda dealer as I knew that would cost my son's college fund.
So I jumped on trusty Angie's List and came across Woody's. I call them and they acted as if crazy 40 year old women call crying hysterically all of the time! They said they were sure it was fine to drive (I was coming from Rock Hill.) But the thought of breaking down on the 77 with an 8 year old quickly nixed that! So I called AAA and had it towed on over to Woody's.
Now comes the fun part. They receive the car and I call to give Woody's heads up that crazy chicks car is the Mazda on the flatbed. They tell me they will call once they have a diagnosis. So now I wait on pins and needles waiting for the update of doom. I figure I am in for a LONG wait. I mean, I did just have my car towed with little heads up and just ASSUMED that they would fit me in!
Less then an hour later I get the call. IT IS NOT THE HEAD GASKET!!!! Break out the wine and the happy dance!!!!! A valve gasket cover, oil pan gasket, new battery and a few other odds and ends. He said they checked it from stem to stern and it is in great shape!!!! Not only that - but they had it finished by THE END OF THE DAY!!!!!
To say these guys are rock stars is an understatement. They could have told me the cars prostate was bad and I wouldn't have questioned them because I have no clue about cars. And they knew it. Instead, they treated me like I assume they would like their spouses treated by a professional.
On another note, my husband is furious because this was his car and he has been wanting a new one for the past year or two. Now we know we should get another 50 - 60,000 miles out of it!!!! Whoo hoo! So I traded my van for a CPO Lexus and he can drive his Mazda - fair, right?

They gave me a discount on Angie's List. I went with them because no one else could resolve my problem thoroughly like they could. They did a great job!

Woodie's recommended online aftermarket parts purchase in lieu of Cadillac original struts. GM list price was $938 for each shock absorber ($1,876 for two + tax). Online price for less sophisticated parts recommended by Woodie's was $100 total. Thanks for the savings Woodie's!

They performed a limited inspection and made a few suggestions of services needed in the near future. They did not pressure me to do anything additional (and haven't in the past). I have been a long time customer of this business.

I needed an oil change and it was already afternoon on Saturday, and I didn't have an appointment. I checked on Angie's List, found Woodie's, and was relieved to find that they were close by and not busy. When I got there, they took my information and got right to work. There was only one other person waiting while having repairs done, and they didn't seem to have a lot of cars around that they were working on. Sometimes that is a bad sign, but it seemed to work to my advantage here.
They are located in an old car dealership and I think they moved there recently from another location, because their office, waiting area, and bathroom are super clean and everything in them looks brand new. Their spacious waiting area had plenty of different magazines, that day's newspaper, a big TV with remote, lots of chairs, and I think I remember some toys on one side. There was free coffee, soda, and snacks--a great idea since there aren't any restaurants or stores within walking distance. With all these amenities, I was happy to wait. It only took about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes, longer than some places advertise, but totally reasonable.
The oil change cost about twice as much as the discount chains charge, but they were very professional and thorough, checking various other things along with the oil change. They seemed very straightforward in explaining that I need new power steering and transmission fluid soon, but my car wasn't in mortal danger if I didn't do it that day. I appreciated that they gave me enough information to decide how much work to do right then.
Overall everything went smoothly and my experience was excellent.

The power steering problem could have required a new pump, but they first tried flushing the system and that cleared the problem.  It makes sense that a 20 year old pump might be just clogged, but most shops would have just replaced the pump.  It was good to see some good ol' common sense, especially when it saved me a few hundred dollars.

They do a great job. They?ve done a lot of work for us and we?ve always been happy. This last time everything was acceptable and went fine. We just leave our car there in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day.

They are very nice, professional and punctual. They provide very good quality of service. They suggested not installing new tires; instead they installed used tires that were in good condition. That was a very economical option and its working fine.
