Town & Country installed a vinyl fence on our property just under 5 years ago. Over the course of the last year, we have encountered slats falling out, gaps between slats, and most disappointing - our gate has cracks along the top which we are told is due to Town & Country not installing a brace on the gate which was necessary due to it's size. We are now facing $1200 in 'fix it' costs - including having to replace the gate. There have been no children playing in the yard - no obvious cause for the problems. When I contacted Town & Country - they shared that they do not do repairs and referred me to call a number for repair services. A call to that number turned out to be anything but optimum- zero professionalism, zero business. Will not be recommending this company - ever.

Town and Country did an excellent job. They also were able to customize with scrolls and knobs to match other fencing in the community. About 200 ft. of quality brand black aluminum 4ft high fence was installed. Excellent job by the installers. Also the sales person was knowledgeable and very responsive to all requests. Price was competitive.

First off, the fence is beautiful, straight and seems to be installed properly. However, there were some issues with Town and Country. Our installation took almost 3 weeks, from the first post being installed to the final piece. I saw them install our neighbor's fence from nothing to complete in 4 business days (maybe even 3, but the neighbor looked to be buddies with the installers). Their communication was not very good. They had to reschedule a few times due to crews not showing up, and few times for weather, at times not informing us. They also sent the final bill of sale before the fence was even completed. The communication to the installers was not very good within their company; they forgot to install the trash can screen when they installed the posts for the fence. The biggest disappointment is that we paid the highest price per linear foot that you're going to find, $25 per linear foot. We only had to fence in half our yard, but we paid about 70% of the price our neighbor paid to fence his whole yard of similar size. I understand that there is a minimum "destination" charge for coming out, but I was disappointed in the final cost with no wiggle room. We're in a large 300 home development, so I highly doubt they couldn't line up a second home fence installation to benefit the customer, which is why it turned into a cash-grab for them. Such is business, though. I hope the quality stands up to the price we paid.
Response from TOWN & COUNTRY FENCE
"Sorry for your bad experience. Your job took us 3 working days, which is noraml for PVC, especially since we customize every job. it was strated on a Thursday and finished the following week. Not 3 weeks. The reason the bill was sent out early and why you might think it took us so long was because we had to come back and move the fence because your HOA said it couldnt go where you had us put it. So that adds to time and cost. We are not responsible for HOA requirements, that is the responsibility of the homeowner."

In August of 2015, Town & Country Fence installed 242 feet of 5-foot tall steel fence, including three gates, around the perimeter of our backyard. At the time, they had decent reviews on Angie's List, and a few of our neighbors had used them, so once they quoted me an affordable price, it was easy to make the decision to hire them. The sales rep who first visited our home was courteous, friendly, and seemed knowledgeable. Due to several reasons, including our dog recently being hit by a car, I was open to the idea of going with steel over aluminum, although I was aware of the fact that rust might be a factor in the future with a steel fence. When the rep mentioned that the cost of a steel fence was at that time comparable to aluminum, I decided to go with steel. Once installed, I was happy with the added strength of the steel, and pleased with the overall installation experience. The crew was prompt, focused, and fast. The final product looked great, exactly as I had expected. Within the first year rust had formed on all three of the gates. Taking advantage of the 7-year warranty on steel fencing offered by T&C, I gave them a call, and they promptly responded by sending out a tech to paint over the rust. Although I was happy with the remedy, it was at this point that I began to question the quality of the company that I had hired. In the summer of 2018, I noticed that one of the gate posts had become loose. Hoping to simply have a tech take a look at it, I called T&C. Keith answered the phone, and when I explained to him the situation, he put me through to Cindy. After being on hold for over a minute, Cindy answered, and I explained in detail what I was calling about. She asked numerous questions and then placed me on hold, this time for several minutes. When she returned to the call, her response was, "I've been told that we didn't install steel fences back in 2015." I promptly read her the description listed on the final invoice that I had paid in 2015: "INSTALL 242' OF 5' TALL MAJESTIC STEEL FENCE WITH 2 - 4' AND 1 - 5' WIDE WALK GATE." I explained that our original sales rep had convinced me to go with steel, and her response was that she would need to look up my paperwork. I gave her the invoice number, and her reply was, "That won't help." For some reason, it seemed like she couldn't look up the details during the call, so she moved on to state that there was no way to schedule a technician to visit our home. She made it clear that someone would be available only "when in [our] area," adding that there was no way of knowing when that would be. When I asked for a ballpark idea, her response was that it could be "a few days or a few weeks." I asked if someone could give me a call when they knew they would be in the area, and she said that they would try. At that point, she ended the call by letting me know that she had several other calls waiting. Unsatisfied with the notion that it could be weeks before anyone even looked at the loose post, I picked up the phone and called the handy-man service that has done a great job for us over the years. They were at the house within 3 days, and quickly determined that the post was loose because of poor installation. He fixed the issue within an hour, and the gate post is now solidly secure. At this point, I called T&C to let them know that I no longer needed anyone from their company to stop by. I took the opportunity to let Cindy know that the professional we hired had concluded the issue was due to poor installation during the original job. Although she was pleasant, I sincerely believe that she could not have cared less. I couldn't help remind her that, despite the fact that during our original call she had implied that the fence was not steel, the fence was in fact steel. Her response to this was simply, "Well, that's what I was told." Not sure what's happened to Town & Country Fence's customer service over the past three years, but hopefully the quality of their product and work has improved. Will not use them again.

The process went very well from start to finish. The estimator who came out to survey listened to what I needed and told me what various options would cost. The installers worked quickly the day of the install and made some good suggestions on specific post locations that made sense to improve the overall look. The two custom gates were then installed within a week. We are very pleased with the entire project.

The boards on our fence were warped after installation. They came out they replaced a few of the boards. They warped again within a month and did not replace them all. We were told that they would come back and replace them again. It's been 8 months and still can't get anyone to respond to us and they avoid our phone calls. This place is a joke. Save your money. Some of the fence is pushing into our siding causing damage to the house and they treat you like crap when you call so unprofessional. They have a horrible attitude when they have to come and fix something. They do not take responsibility for anything that they do wrong. You definitely will not get customer satisfaction that's for sure.

I had a problem with the guys who installed the fence. They had to come back and reinstall part of it. They were very responsive to any problems. I would not recommend them because I had too many problems with the guys who installed the fence. It took about a week because they had to come back and redo part of it. They cleaned up really well.

Initially Town and Country was professional and did wonderful installation. Twice since, however, we have called needing to have portions of the fence replaced due to fallen trees, and they have never once responded. These were not instances in which we were looking for free replacement, but a paid job. We even said, if this is too small of a job, please let us know; no response at all. Their customer service is ATROCIOUS...as in nonexistent.

I appreciated Brian's thoroughness when he came out to provide a quote. He took into account the grade of our yard and how it would impact the gates. Brian also made sure that we located the property pins so that our fence remained within our property line. I received outstanding customer service from Luann throughout the process.

Excellent. Town & Country did a great job of communicating price and timing for project. Their price was cheaper than some of their competitors and they were well aware of fencing requirements in Dilworth. It took about 3 full days to install the fence, and it looks great.
