Jewelry Sales/Design/Repair
I will never frequent this business again and other women should know how the management team handles female customers. This business has a long history in the Charlotte area so I was floored by the treatment I received. LADIES BEWARE !!!
I've previously dealt with others on staff (junior personnel) and had no problem so it?s clearly the owner or older management
that is suffering from antiquated views about what is and is not appropriate. I went in with a question about an item I had appraised by Sumpter?s in 2011. Based on what the gentleman said (with pure arrogance and condescension) their appraisal of my item was completely erroneous. I am not talking about a small difference. It was a $12,000 discrepancy. I do not remember his name but he is an older man in his 50's, heavyset and very intimidating. Besides being the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered in a presumably higher end retail establishment, he was also clearly a misogynist with contempt for women.
At one point I actually felt unsafe in his presence despite it being the middle of the day !!
