Strick Tree Services is a top-notch company. Owner Charles Smith was very responsive, and his bid was thorough and competitive. We needed a lot of work done to remove several dead, dying and in-the-way trees, and his crew did a wonderful job. They arrived on time each day, stayed in close contact with us on status, and did everything to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend them for tree work to anyone.

This is the fifth time in 6 years that we had Strick Tree Services to remove trees on our 1 acre property. We have a lot of tall oak trees in natural areas surrounding our lawin and home. Each time, Charles gave us a full estimate of work to be done along with his strategy to remove the tree with the least impact to the surrounding landscape. When he arrived to do the work everything went as planned. Clearly, safety is his greatest concern. In today's work, he had a tricky operation to drop a major oak tree that had been struck by lightning last summer. He had to drop it between the corner of our house and several other landscaping areas. Perfect and skilled execution I could not be more pleased.

Charlie came out to give me an estimate for the work we needed done. I had it in my head to get rid of several trees -- the ones that needed it along with some others I wanted removed for and quot;cosmeticand quot; reasons. He loves trees and knows so much about them that you can't help but learn from him and come to appreciate your trees more. (I ended-up keeping the trees that didn't need to be removed.) Withing a couple of weeks Charlie and one of his crew came out to do the work. They always make the effort to clean up everything, and after they had finished, Charlie gave me some (money-saving) tips to keep my trees healthy.

The work was performed in a safe and professional manner and the debris was
cleaned up so well that the yard surrounding the tree looked better after the pruning
session than it did beforehand.

I would highly recommend the services of STS for both routine and serious tree
work that anyone might need. I will certainly use them again in the future.

Charles was very professional and punctual through the entire process. The work performed was done in accordance with our agreement.

We had quite a few fallen trees to play with this year. A 70/80 feet pine fell in Aug on the shed in the backyard. Charles was responsive and polite and his estimate came in lowest. We used them and were pleased with result, the tree was removed without causing additional damage to the shed, we were also impressed with the entire crew's punctuality, politeness and efficiency. Great experience overall. A week later, a larger oak fell on another property. Charles gave estimate for removing that fallen tree and another oak right next to it, due to the fact that both trees had rotten roots. At $1800, it again was the lowest. We used them again. Charles was attentive to our need to take advantage of the low water level and accomodating in scheduling. Trees removed and crater filled up by ground roots. And we again were impressed with their perfomance. Their attention to details and efficiency were amazing, even the neighbors were impressed how well they cleaned up every thing. Thanks to Charles and his crew for a job well done, twice!

Charles was professional and prompt - took down two very tall pine trees with VERY little room - dropped them as promised. We will call upon them in the future for any tree work we need. -Joe

They were very punctual, friendly and professional. We were impressed with the cleanup after they removed everything. They went beyond the call of duty and cleaned leaves that were cluttering the lawn for us and made it look better than when they arrived! We will definitely recommend this service to others and call on them in the future.

I contacted Charles Smith and he came out to give me an estimate of what he would charge for the job. When he first arrived, he asked me what I was hoping to accomplish by cutting down these trees, which was very helpful. I told him that several lawn care companies had stated that I would not be able to grow grass without cutting and thinning out the trees to allow more sunshine to get to the grass. He listened to what I had to say, then went around the front and back yard with us pointing out the trees that he thought should be cut down and those that he thought would need limbs cut off. He also said one of our trees could be saved by treating it, which he said he would do also. My wife and I talked about it and said that was a lot of money to spend, so I emailed Charles and asked him what the bare minimum would be. He emailed me back the same day with a revised list of what he thought would be the least amount of trees we should take out in order to accomplish our goal. This was very nice of him because it gave us severa; options in case we wanted to wait on some of the trees. As it turned out, we decided to let him do all but 1 or 2 of the trees on the original list. He scheduled us for Wed, Sept 15th and told us it would take about 2 days to finish the job. He showed up at 8 AM just as promised and went right to work with his crew. They did a fantastic job of cutting and hauling away the trees. On Thurs, Charles told me that the job was a little bigger than he had thought and asked if it was OK if he came back on Fri to finish the job, which of course I said was fine. On Fri, Charles and his crew showed up at 8 AM as usual and finished up the rest of the trees and then raked the entire back and front yard so that all of the debris from the fallen trees was totally cleaned up. Then Charles walked the front and back yard with myself and my wife and went over everything that he had done to make sure nothing was missed. We then sat down and he and I went over again what he had quoted, and he made sure that I was completely satisfied before I wrote him the check. My experience with Charles Smith was outstanding, I don't know anything else he could have done better, and I would not hesitate to hire him again in the future.

I contacted Strick Tree Services after reading several positive reviews on Angie's List. The owner responded very quickly to my request for him to come out and he offered to come at a time that worked best for my schedule which ended up being at the end of his work day. He spent 30-45 minutes with me inspecting all our trees and being very honest about what needed to be done for the heath of the trees and what can wait. He did not try to sell me anything we did not need and gave a very fair price for what he did. He is extremely knowledgeable about trees and took the time to teach me a few things that we can do on our own to make a few of our trees stronger.

We contacted Strict Tree Services based on the many happy reviews we read on Angie’s List. We were interested in having 4 trees and about 4 large out of control shrubs removed and their stumps ground. The estimate was the best we received. We were especially happy with their a la carte pricing which allowed us to make a better informed decision. The day the work was done we would not have known they were their. The crew cut down and removed all the debris and left our yard in perfect condition. My only disappointment was that I was not able to be there the day the came to give the estimate or make it home before they finished. I had marked a couple of shrub stumps I was hoping to have them remove, but they were missed probably due to miscommunication. They did offer a solution but we choose to hold off until later in the year when we may engage them again to remove some additional trees. Overall, we were very happy with the service and professionalism of the company and highly recommend them.

The estimator was always on time however I requested a ornamental tree to be trimmed and he removed two branches where it was getting in the way of garbage truck etc. I wasn't at home to inspect what we discussed when he was finished but my husband was and he wasn't clear what was to be done. He did a great job on cutting down and removing a dead tree and also a very large pin oak was trimmed and also did a great job overall I was pleased with this company

The crew arrived promptly, went immediately to work and finished in about 2 1/2 hours. They had the right tools for the job and appeared to be experienced in the work. Also, in addition to the work contracted, they cut down another old stump in my back yard at no charge. They cleaned up after the job and went to pains to save as much of the existing landscaping (primarily azaleas) around the large stump they ground. I would absolutely use them again.

I sent an inquiry via email to Charles on Sunday night requesting he stop by and give me a quote. I was amazed when he called Monday and said he could be over in the afternoon. He was incredibly prompt. Charles listened to what I wanted to have done and then walked with me throughout my front and back yard and explained what he saw. He was very professional in his assessment and clearly was more conservative in his approach (he wasn't just looking for trees/limbs to cut down and make more money). Each tree was assessed to include it's health, limbs, roots, etc. That night I received a quote via email and it was essentially a la carte, which was nice. Each potential work item we discussed was clearly laid our in the quote with its individual price. His quote was below what I expected and I agreed to the whole plan. Charles came out within 2 days and completed all the tree trimming work. Due to cold weather and rain, he came back the next week to do the fertilization. My wife said it took approximately 2 hours to fully fertilize the 2 trees. Charles also asked us to call him in the spring when the leaves just start to come out as he wants to take a sample of our Red Oak and have it sent for testing to identify specifically why it is looking a bit sickly. This was a fantastic experience, I highly recommend Strick Tree.

I was very pleased with the work they did and its result. It was edifying and entertaining to watch the way the team used ropes to lower limbs safely to the ground and guide the fall of the tree. The stump grinding was also well done. I have a lot of cutting (and splitting) to do in the weeks ahead, but I received exactly the services that I wanted from Charles and his team.

This was a substantial job. They were here most of the day: 9-3. Very professional crew worked hard all day. Kept me informed of when it was safe to be in the yard. Safely took down limb and removed from property. I am very satisfied. The results of the injections will not be apparant until next spring.

I had called Charles in early spring to look at stressed trees in my yard and he had made suggestions of things I could do. During August one tree became completely brown and lost all leaves. I called again and he promptly came to see what needed to be done and removal of the dead tree was scheduled within one week. His crew of two were very professional and thorough in completing the task. All debris was cleaned up and area looked as before except the tree was gone! I have spoken with several different arborist over the years but Charles stood out as being very knowledgeable and professional in his field.

Charles came out bright and early one morning to do an estimate for tree work. The time he spent with me walking around the yard and talking about the trees was informative and interesting -- the man knows his trees! I like this company's 'gentle' approach to tree work (no tree spikes, no tree-topping). They won't remove trees just for the sake of adding to their bottom line. If the tree *can* be saved, they'll let it be. They came out, did their job and cleaned-up their mess. They're good guys and they work hard! Also worth mentioning: Strick's estimate was less than half of what another companies were going to charge me for *less* work!

We called several arborist companies, and Strick was the clear winner for the work with the best combination of great service, knowledge, professionalism and affordability during the quote process. The work was then scheduled for the following week, and they arrived promptly on time, were courteous and professional, and got right to work. Believe it or not, inside of 4 hours, the tree was down precisely where it needed to fall, was cut into 18 inch sections as required, and all stumps had been ground. We really couldn't be happier.

Things ran quite smoothly. I will have to wait to see if the nutrients they used help to save the trees on our property.
