Mr. Kilpatrick worked on the window for 5 1/2 hours which I felt was too long even though he took out the frame and properly squared the window. On that same day he inspected an area of gutter that was leaking out onto our Stucco chimney. While up on the ladder he dug out 2 areas of the facia board that were rotted. He also found an area of soft wood around a window adjacent to the one he worked on. He told me he could dig the rotted wood out and replace it when he came to repair the facia board. I approved and told him to go ahead. This work was all done on January 9-10. He told me he would be back no later than Wednesday the 14th to finish the work. I called him Tuesday and he told me he would be there Wednesday to complete the work. He did not show up Wednesday as promised. After leaving him a message he called me Wednesday night and apologized explaining that he was behind on another job. He assured me once again that he would complete the job, this time no later than Saturday the 17th. He also asked me if I could pay him for the work he had done on the window. I agreed to pay him for the hours worked with the condition that he guarantee me that the balance of work (repairing the exposed remaining wood) be completed by the 17th. Once again he did not follow through on his promise or call me with a reason for not showing up. My call to him Sunday went unreturned through the end of business today (Monday the 19th). Mr. Kilpatrick is a nice, pleasant man that was recommended to us by our Realtor. He has a reasonable $40/hour labor rate and we had used him before on a small handyman job. I take no pleasure in leaving this negative report because I believe that he is a nice, honest person but appears to be lacking in organization and time management. Not returning my last call was the final straw for me. I am having his unfinished work added in to some exterior stucco repairs that another contractor will be starting soon.
