I brought my laptop to Slayton's after a friend spilled wine on the keyboard and certain keys wouldn't work. I received a call two days later to let me know that they would have to replace the keyboard but that everything else was fine. It took about 7 to 8 days total for review, and work to be done. Everybody was professional and the turn around time was efficient.
The overall experience was great; my only complaint was a discrepancy in price when I picked my laptop up and the one told to me over the phone. I was told the total would be $40 for the part and $30 for installation so I told them to go ahead with the work. When I went to pick up my laptop the total was $99.95. I did receive the Angie's List discount which brought it down to $81.41.

I brought my PC desktop in to be checked out. Several days later they called and said the Windows operating system was corrupted and needed to be re-installed. When I went over to get my PC back, I asked them to start it up to assure me it was okay. Instead, it was doing crazy things. They said they would check it again. A couple of days later they called me again and said it was the hard drive failing. So it took a few more days to install a new one. When I went back, they started the PC one more time, and this time it worked great. I have had no problems since then.
they copied most of my files in a separate folder ; all that was missing was some programs. Fortunately I saved the installation files for these programs, so it was easy to get them back on.
The price seems fair. My only real complaint is the delay and having to make an extra trip to the shop.
The morale is, when you bring your computer to a shop to get repaired, make sure it's working as it should before you take it home.

The problem was it was overheating due to pet hair clogging it up. The graphic chip had overheated. They cleaned out the fur and repaired the chip, with the warning they didn't know how long it would last. It could be a few weeks or a year. This avoided buying and installing a new motherboard. This worked out well since the pc was stolen a few weeks later.

Slayton did the work, in a reasonable time at a fairly reasonable price.

I also sent a couple emails with estimates on some other items, I received a prompt response on one, but not the other.

I liked the fact that they were very clear about the requirements. I just had to provide for them to do the work. They were professional and experienced. They performed the job faster than they had promised. They under promised and over delivered. I was a bit surprised by that. They were also fairly priced.

I took my dad's computer in for service after it had crashed. They performed a diagnostic service on the computer. Called to tell me that the hard drive was badly infected with various viruses. Provided a course of action, which was to clean / delete everything from the hard drive. They also recommended using Avast Antivirus program as opposed to the big two (McAfee and Norton). Computer has been working beautifully every since.
