S & G ELECTRIC

Gwen did work for me several years ago, including upgrading the electricity for my sunroom. I am going through renovations now and just found out that the work she did was not up to code. Apparently she stole power from my HVAC unit which should be on a dedicated circuit. I now have to pay another electrician to come and correct her work. I would not recommend you use this company, they look for shortcuts and don't do the job properly.

Generally it went well. Gwen (the G in S&G) and crew mostly showed up when promised and performed the work requested. I do feel like I overpaid by quite a bit. Another contractor lined S&G up for us. The other contractor told me he was paying S&G 1250 for part of the work, and I would have to cover the rest, but in the end he only paid 500, and I feel like I got stuck with too much of the remaining bill. Gwen is investigating this now, so I may have to update this opinion later. They could not determine what several switches operated. Since they left, I found two outlets that don't work (I haven't fed this back to S&G yet).

I mostly dealt with Mike for this project. He is very nice and very courteous. Everything is fine with my electrical work and I have no issues. When installing everything, it all worked out fine. The pricing was all with the building so I am sorry I cannot give you information on that.

We were not that happy with the job this company did for us. We could just tell that there was some frustration in the one guys tone when he was having problems with the job. We were not too happy that there was a delay with them either. We don't feel that everyone we dealt with from this company was the most polite in dealing with us. I ended up having to change out the 220 box myself. I would have to say that they are not the best company that I have ever dealt with but they are not the worst either. I would say they are about average.

They gave us a quote but did not deliver what they were supposed to have done. They did not give us enough voltage and we trip our breakers all the time. I have to flip the breakers back on every time this happens and the power goes out. I don't want them working on my home again. It is going to cost me more money to have another company do their job correctly.

It took the crew three weeks to build our sunroom. The sunroom itself is really nice, and I have not found anything wrong with it. I am satisfied, as none of the windows leak. I feel they have overall great craftsmanship.

This electrical company worked for us, because our contractor had hired them. They also paid them. We were pleased with all of their services. We have been having no electrical difficulties at all. We feel quite pleased about the work this company did for us.

One employee was a problem with this company; he was a bad egg. The company fired him for that reason. After that, I had a smooth sailing situation with them. I give them credit. They were working for me in the summer in an attic that was about 150 degrees for my ceiling fan installation. That is not easy to do in heat that intense. The inspector said the electric work this company did was impressive and done to code. I paid only between five and seven thousand dollars for all of the work they did. That was a good deal compared to other estimates I had received.

We only had one or two other price quotes. This company came highly recommended to us. We were very happy that they were able to start the job so quickly. We were treated very good. The man who did the work was very funny. He joked around and was very pleasant. When it came down to getting the job done, he was all business. We felt very comfortable with this company doing the project. There have been no problems with the new upgrade.

They were comprehensive and precise. They knew all the safety codes for the inspectors and everything passed with flying colors. I do not remember the price of the service, but I know it was very reasonable for the job they did. They did great work and I would highly recommend them.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. It took the inspector four times to come back to make sure that the work was done correctly. The company obviously did not know too much of what was going on. I think that the professional service was ridiculous and the prices were not very great either.

Oh, I could not have been more pleased with this great company from top to bottom. There was a woman who monitored the progress of the crew that was doing the work and she was wonderful. She would stop in each day and check up on them and really had a great grasp of how things were going. The thing that I was most impressed with, personally, was how quickly, yet thoroughly the work was done. It amazed me! Furthermore, the prices were just the best I had found after talking to many people and receiving various estimates. I would be the first person in line to hire this company again. They have earned my trust, respect, and loyalty.

Went great! Called Gwen on Monday; she personally took my call. Came and gave me an estimate on Tuesday, and we scheduled the work to be performed on Thursday. Everything is fixed and what I wanted.

The three employees that reported for the work were polite, it took a little longer than expected to install the two gadgets to the fan and light kit. I felt the price was high. The first time they came they charged $50, he told my husband it would be $50 when they return, but it ended up being $250--BIG difference. Mike said it was because of the high ceiling, which to a certain degree I do understand, we have a 20ft high ceiling. During the first trip they did not have a ladder tall enough to reach the ceiling to install one of the gadgets, therefore they had to come back with a longer ladder. It concerned me because they had to tie the ladder to our upstairs banister for support.

They are extremely nice. It is wonderful having a woman to do the electrical work. They do the work nicely. The came the next day or the same day.

THE WOMAN THAT OWNS THE COMPANY CAME OUT AND SERVICED THE BOXES TO MEET INSPECTION. THEY GAVE US A 10% DISCOUNT FOR BEING AN ANGIE'S LIST MEMBER.

THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO COME AT 10 AM THE WEEK BEFORE 8/24/05, AND THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP OR CALL. THEY CALLED LATER IN THE WEEK, AND SAID THEY WOULD COME 8/24/05 AT 10 AM. THEY SHOWED UP AT 10:50 AM. THE 2 YOUNG MEN TOOK MORE THAN AN HOUR TO PUT THE FIXTURES UNDER THE CABINET. THE LARGEST PROBLEM WAS THE FAN, AND THEY HAD TO DO THE JOB OVER. IT TOOK THEM ALL DAY FROM 11 AM TO 5 PM. IT WAS DISASTROUS AND I JUST WANTED THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE.

UNBELIEVABLE, GREAT JOB. SHE COMPLETELY REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. SHE CAME OUT QUICKLY AND TOOK CARE OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HER HIGHLY.

VERY POSITIVE. GWEN WAS PROMPT, FRIENDLY, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I WILL USE HER AGAIN IF NEED BE.

THEY WERE EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND NICE. I WILL MOST CERTAINLY CALL THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. I DIDN'T HAVE THE CORRECT LIGHT BULBS, SO I HAD TO GO BACK AND BUY THE CORRECT ONES. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM COMING RIGHT BACK OUT TO PUT THOSE IN, AND DID NOT CHARGE ME ANYTHING EXTRA. THEY WERE ALSO VERY CLEAN.

GWYN DID AN EXHAUSTIVE TROUBLESHOOTING EXERCISE TO FIND THE PROBLEM IN A 50 YEAR OLD HOUSE, AND GOT THE OUTLETS WORKING AGAIN. IT TOOK A FEW DAYS FOR HER TO GET TO THE HOUSE, BUT SHE WAS ALWAYS FRIENDLY, APPEARS PROFICIENT IN HER WORK, AND REASONABLY PRICED.

ON TIME. GOOD WORK ETHIC. PROFESSIONAL. PLEASANT.

THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL, PROMPT, AND PROFESSIONAL.

GWEN RETURNED MY CALL VERY QUICKLY. SHE ARRIVED ON TIME AND PERFORMED THE ELECTRICAL WORK IN THE TIME FRAME SHE ESTIMATED. GWEN WAS VERY EFFICIENT, PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD CALL HER AGAIN FOR ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL WORK I MAY NEED.
