The overall project went very well. Laura did a total room by room and outside inspection of the problem points. She took a thorough inventory of all the "good" assets that we had for decorating. She scheduled tours of all the competitor homes in our area and required that we visit the homes with her -- even homes of people we knew. She really took seriously showing how we needed to make our home a competitive product in totality versus just decorating a few rooms to look nice. Then, she created a staging plan and schedule for us. We subcontracted out the work where she said we needed help outside her scope. For example, we hired Albert's Painting to fix some masonry work, paint inside, fix some walls, hang light fixtures, and other odd jobs. Phase one was to get each room organized. Laura worked with us to tell us exactly what we needed to do whether cleaning out closets, moving furniture, or changing out fixtures. My wife did much of the organization with Laura's partners, Lindsey. I did the changing of fixtures, getting contractors, and moving furniture where it needed to go. After organization, then Laura did her magic by using much of what we had to make each room tell a unique story to a potential buyer. Laura did have to buy some additional items like chairs, lamps, and artwork. She bought the additional decorating items on a reasonable budget. We spent an additional $1,400 for all of the additional items to stage the house. This was an additional cost beyond the $2,800 fee for Laura. We did not enjoy spending the extra dollars, but Laura treated the cash like her own money and it was amazing what she purchased. Laura literally turned our home into a showcase within 10 days from start to finish. She was on budget, on time, and delivered a superior result. I would be remiss not to mention her partner Bea who helped Laura decorate. Bea did an incredible job and brings a similar level of expertise as Laura. Lindsey is Laura's understudy and gets things done fast and efficiently. Her partners are just as professional and personable as she is. They created a home showcase of our home in a short period of time. They were also reasonably priced (it averaged about $200 per room). I will use Laura again to decorate my new home. She is one of Charlotte's best decorators and home staging professionals from my experience.
