Drywall Service
I called Mr. Rimmer on Wednesday and explained I needed a 3' x 3' section of drywall replaced. I explained that I was under time constraints and needed the repairs completed by Friday evening to give me a couple of days to paint and complete prior to home inspection scheduled for Monday morning. Mr. Rimmer said he would call me the next day (Thursday) to let me know what time he could make the repairs on Friday. Mr. Rimmer failed to call me on Thursday and called me at 11:00 Friday morning. By then, I had unpacked my tools and was prepared to make the repairs myself. I explained I had cut the sheetrock out into a perfect square (centered on the joist) and all that was needed was to cut, screw up a replacement piece, tape and mud. I added that I would finish sand and paint. He said to give him until 1:00 pm and he may be able to get someone out there that afternoon. Mr. Rimmer failed to call my until 3:30 PM and said he could make the repairs on Monday. I reminded him of the time constraints due to inspection on Monday and told him he failed to call on two occasions before the agreed time and I had no more time for him. He apologized and stated that he had messed up. At 5:30 pm he called back again to apologize and said that he had a small piece of drywall in his garage that he could bring to me if I was planning to make the repairs myself. I told him I had already made the repairs.

Drywall Service
Overall, the job was a fair experience. We had seen their work in another house and liked the result. This service started out well. They did a nice job of blocking off the rest of the house with plastic sheets and tried to clean up each day. The end result was disappointing. After the job was completed, we had to spend nearly a full day spackling some open joints and scraping / sanding to smooth spots before priming & painting. The owner did not inspect the job when it was done, just trusted that his workers did a good job. He told me that I should have called him if dissatisfied, and maybe we should have, but it was easier then to finish the job ourselves. When the workers bought a new vacuum to replace a broken one, they completely filled our recycle bin with the cardboard boxes and packing material. They also put all the debris from the ceiling in a second trash bin and didn't tell us (we found it 2 weeks later). Punctuality - it might just have been bad luck, but the workers arrived late most days - excuses included a flat tire and the broken vacuum.

Awful. Put up damaged drywall that they found at my house to skimp on buying materials themselves. Used nails to fasten drywall up, instead of drywall screws, which creates "nail pops" when the nails loosen (the heads of the nails pop up through the surface of the drywall after a couple of weeks). Couldn't tape the seams right, and put the corner tape up against dry wallboard and then spread joint compound on top instead of bedding the tape in joint compound and then mudding over the top, so the tape didn't stick and is now falling off of my ceiling. Most incompetent drywalling I've ever seen out of a professional company.
