Rainbow International Restoration

Our insurance company used Rainbow for restoration services after water damage from the refrigerator. Since they were already there and the insurance company used them, we decided to use them to completely remodel the kitchen. Seemed great at first, nice people, fair price but after we signed and paid half - then the delays began. We went through at least 3 different Project Managers and the project took months longer than expected. Weeks would go by without any work at all. I would call the office routinely and the receptionist would only refer me to someone else. I spoke to the Owner, met with them at the office, met subcontractors at the house and still no progress. They stopped returning calls. Sad thing - once you sign with a contractor you are pretty much stuck until the job is finished - whenever they decide to finish it. I would not recommend and would not use again.

Our remodeling contractor recommended we contact Rainbow International. We did, and we also called USAA, our insurance company. The case manager at USAA told us that we should not take any chances with our health, but should hire a company that would do a thorough, correct job of remediation. She also told us that USAA had experience with Rainbow International here in Charlotte and had found them to be excellent. We got Rainbow's estimate, and USAA approved it with no questions asked. Mold remediation is not a fun thing, but the crew from Rainbow International made it as painless as possible. They were both professional and personable, taking care with our schedule and with our belongings. While they were here, they did a thorough check of the rest of our house, including the air ducts, to be sure they were finding everything that might need to be addressed. Fortunately, the black mold was confined to one fairly small area, and eventually was thoroughly eradicated. I would not hesitate to use Rainbow International again -- but I hope we don't have to!

He went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out.  Instead of charging me lots of money to do small things my handyman can do...he was so honest and advised me on the most cost effective way of fixing my problems.  I will absolutely call him back to bid a bathroom renovation job.  Thanx Jake.

I was standing in the yard watching the fire department clean up their gear and looking for hot spots in what was left of my house when Jake's crew showed up to start sucking out water, pack out what valuables that could be saved and boarding up the house for safety. I was at a complete loss as I had no idea what had to be done. Then Jake walked up and talked me through all that was about to happen and what I needed to do immediately. And then he said the magic words, "we will take care of this and will stay with you until you are back in your house". I felt in good hands from that moment on. Rainbow took care of finding clothes cleaners, furniture restorers, a construction company that did fabulous work. They took care of working with the insurance company to cover things not originally estimated and went above and beyond every step of the way. The staff at Rainbow were wonderful, professional, attentive to detail and personable. In every interaction, every one of them was helpful and a pleasure to work with. When things have fallen apart and you need a restoration service you will not find one better than Jake, Darrel, Abraham, Maria and Beth and the rest of the crew at Rainbow International in Charlotte.

Of all the people I called for help, Jake was the first to get out to the job site.  He was there the same day I called.  And, of the three vendors I received assessments/quotes from Jake was far and away the most knowledgeable, the most thorough, and the most patient in answering all my questions.  While Jake was not the lowest on price, it was a no-brainer to go with the guy who understood the entire scope of the job and could clearly communicate what needed to be done, why, and how he was going to do it.  Jake continued to be easily accessible and highly responsive over the course of a 10 day engagement.  He and his team were able to oversee almost every aspect of the job except the plumbing.  That is a really big deal given that coordinating schedules with multiple vendors can be difficult.  I have referred friends to Jake and would endorse him whole-heartedly.

Cleaned up all the damage and dried out 2 interior rooms and my garage. Insurance paid for everything.

It turned out awesome! They were very professional and friendly. They went above and beyond. They packed up the whole downstairs and storied it in our storage facility in our driveway. They packed and wrapped up everything. Once everything was completed and dry they came back and put everything back out. They took care of everything!

They were able to come in and know exactly what it was. They gave us advice on how to avoid the situation in the future. They did a very good job. They were professional, cleaned up well and did the work fast.

Considering the circumstances of the event, Jake made it actually a pleasure to deal with.  It could have been a complete disaster trying to figure out what to do with all our stuff (we have four kids and there was a TON of kid stuff in the garage...) but again, Jake was amazing helping us deal with it all.  Our insurance is with Liberty Mutual and Jake worked directly with them to handle all the payments and saved me a ton of time.  When the work was finished, we told Jake we hoped to never see him again (who wants to deal with fire and smoke damage ever again?) but truly we would do business with him again if only under different circumstances!  Rainbow International was the best.

This meant to be constructive. This was a restoration after a flood requiring removing hardwood floors and extensive drying with fans for several days before any work could be started. The beginning was a nightmare for us finding our home flooded. Rainbow Restoration was on site within a very short time and worked around the clock to get our house to the point where their sub contractors could put it back together. I found on the finishing end that as the homeowner I was more responsible for the quality of workmanship than the project manager and sub contractors. The hardwood floors needed 4 return trips to refinish areas that were missed or poorly done, the painter/trim carpenter made many(too many phone calls to count) return trips to repaint (wrong colors) add missed trims. Carpet contractor shorted the pad by 2" where when walking on it you could feel the spacing. I don't think a through walk through checklist was followed at completion it was more if we found something they would fix it. We have floor tiles after the fact in an adjoining bath coming loose the rooms surrounding had hardwood floors replaced.

Everything went fine. No issues at all. It took them about a week.

The work was good. I was happy with the work that they did.

They were recommended by my insurance company. It did turn out all right.
