Appliance Repair
This is a company contracted out by another company to do warranty/repair work. The first time I contacted this company, I heard the grunt of a hello and I seemed to be bothering the other person on the other side of the phone. I had to ask if I contacted the right company, and she finally confirmed that part of the conversation. I tried to schedule a simple lamp replacement for my television that became anything but simple. The receptionist told me that she would contact me later to schedule a time for a technician to come out. That was on a Thursday. I tried to call back on Friday but nothing happened. Apparently, this company takes Fridays off. When I called again on Monday, greeted with gum smacking and an attitude, I was finally able to schedule a tech to come out. To make a long story short...the technician finally came out days later, had the wrong part, and I was told I would have to either do it myself or wait for a part. A week later, after hearing nothing, I called again. They had to order the part again and schedule a technician to come out the following week. Three weeks later, a simple lamp replacement covered under warranty was finally completed.

Company seemed to lack desire to actually find out what was wrong. They claimed they never saw the color problem. We even sent pictures of the problem. We were a bit surprised that the shop never asked us to come in and try to demo the problem for them. After the set was last returned to us, we found that the problem was showing up in 10-15 minutes, where it was originally taking 4-6 hours to show up. Furthermore, the TV has self-testing indicator and it was indicating problem with White Balance according to the service manual (downloaded off the Internet). Our set weighs close to 150 lbs, so it was impossible for my wife and I to take the set to the shop. The shop had a pickup and delivery service. After the third time, we gave up trying to deal with them, since each time the set went to the shop, we were without TV for several weeks and it did not appear that the shop was ever going to find and repair the problem.

It was a great experience. As we suspected, the power supply was the problem. Usually, a lot of companies want to replace an entire board and charge you for that. In this case, the repairman repaired the power supply module on the board and we got just the fix we needed.

They were on time and professional in picking up the TV, the repairs were made in a timely fashion, upon return, all the connections were made and the TV was working well. My only complaint was the time it took to schedule a pick-up and delivery. It was about two weeks before they could pick it up and about a week after the repairs were made before they could deliver.

Scott, the in-home service technician, went absolutely above and beyond the call of duty to fix the television. I cannot say enough good things about his professionalism, courtesy, dedication and thoroughness. After performing the repair, he even took the time to adjust the colors properly. Plus, the cost of the service was much less than I had anticipated. I don't think I have ever before been this impressed with a service provider. Incredible!!

THE REPAIRMAN WAS VERY EXPERIENCED AND KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND HOW PIONEER RECOMMENDED THE ISSUE BE FIXED. HE HAD THE PARTS OUT IN HIS VAN AND WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE 2 CHIPS IN NO TIME.

IT HAS TAKEN OVER THREE MONTHS TO FIX MY CD PLAYER AND IT IS NOT FIXED YET. THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY BROKEN PROMISES TO FOLLOW UP, FIND OUT THE STATUS OF THE REPAIR AND RETURN MY CALL. REPAIR TECHNICIAN SUPPOSEDLY WORKS ONLY THREE DAYS A WEEK -- NEVER SEEMS TO BE WORKING ON DAY THAT I CALL. NO ONE ELSE IN STORE CAN PROVIDE STATUS OF REPAIR OR ESTIMATE OF WHEN REPAIR WILL BE COMPLETE.

THEY TOLD US THAT WITH ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD GO WRONG AND THE AGE OF THE CAMCORDER WE MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER PURCHASING A NEW ONE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO DO THE WORK THOUGH. THEY DIDNT CHARGE FOR THE ADVICE. WE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT THEY ADVISED US OF THEIR OPINION ON FIXING IT INSTEAD OF CHARGING $50 FOR DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO TELL US THE SAME THING.
