Pet Paradise Resort and Day Spa

We left our senior fur baby, Romeo, in the care of Pet Paradise for one week. After 5 days we received a call that he was lethargic and they wanted to take him to a local emergency vet. We approved and headed home waiting on the call from the vet. The vet said Romeo was severely dehydrated, using the words “shriveled like a raisin”, to describe him. When we picked him up from the vet, he was on a stretcher and suffering from kidney and liver failure, completely unable to life his head, let alone walk. We took him to our personal vet who was in contact with the emergency vet and that day we had to make the decision to put Romeo down and say our final goodbyes. The manager at Pet Paradise told me they were looking into this and they weren’t sure what happened, but promised a follow up by the house vet and District Manager. I have given them 3 weeks and not a call or email. I called and talked to the manager again last week and found out they STILL hadn’t mailed our Romeo’s collar and leash back (which was promised to be done the day he died). I was told they just had a meeting regarding this and I would hear something right away- still nothing. If this is the care and regard they have for taking care of your family member, please beware. It’s heartbreaking enough to say goodbye. It’s devastating to have to beg them to mail your animals collar and leash home and ask for answers a month later.

NOT SAFE!!! Extremely disappointed with this facility. I boarded my German Shepherd here for 3 nights and paid for extra play for him. Upon picking him up and bringing him home, I noticed a spot on his neck that was extremely matted and full of green gunk. His skin was oozing puss and bleeding. I then reached out to the after hours chat online to advise them of what was going on and they assured me that a Manager would call me back first thing in the morning. I arranged a vet visit to have him looked at that following morning. They clipped and cleaned the area and advised me he had a really nasty bacterial infection/hotspot which would have been caused by the facility not drying him after the pool before putting him back in the kennel. His visit cost approximately $300 with meds and treatment. I never received a call from the facility at all that day. They did call the following day and the lady I spoke to on the phone advised that this issue is common at their facility with Golden Retrievers and they do not have enough dryers in their facility to be able to dry all of the long hair dogs before putting them back in their kennels. She then followed by saying that they can offer me 1 free nights stay for the inconvenience. So now I am stuck with a big vet bill to fix the wound on my German Shepherds neck while he is in a lot of pain and agony over the next couple weeks while it heals because they are NEGLECTFUL and board more dogs than they can properly care for being that their excuse is they "Do not have enough dryers" to dry all the dogs in the facility. I will be updating this post with pictures so you can see how bad his wound is. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!!! They did not offer to pay for the vet bill which they should be fully responsible for since it was caused by pure NEGLECT of the facility!

Absolutely the best place to bring your dog for daycare and boarding. It's extremely clean! They take such excellent care of my dog and I won't be taking him anywhere else. They treat him like their own! Love this place!

Just picked up Bailey, our 10 year old greyhound, he is very skinny, markable Weightloss and has two very ugly pressure point sores on both knees. This is caused from being on concrete and not treating. Not once did this establishment contact us to advise of this over the 10 days he was with them and we called almost everyday to be told he was ok. This is totally unacceptable, arrangements could have been made to make him more comfortable and to treat; up to taking him to our local vet. Note the inspection report shows hair loss in this area; not open wounds but we were told the open wounds were indicated as hair loss the chart.....??? Not acceptable. This is animal cruelty and we are taking steps to notify authorities that regulate their license, CMPD and the City of Charlotte. We will also send the vet bill for treatment of improperly cared for sores for their payment. Please do not take your beloved animals to them. We have been going since they opened and will NEVER step into this or any Pet Paradise facility again. This adds the the previous 12/25/18 complaint below: Won’t call you to let up know your furbabies doesn’t have food until A holiday when all stores were closed. They knew about it for 48 hrs prior. Had to get food brought in by our pet sitter who happened to be at home. They comped stay but this is the 2nd time this has occurred. Our trust is no longer with this company. Do not recommend.

I believe it went good because Max enjoys being there. I love that all I have to do is fix his food and drop him off and Max comes home smelling good as ever. I recommend everyone that is a pet owner go to Pet Paradise!

Pet Paradise has the most professional staff and cleanest location of the eleven boarding/daycare facilities we've used in my dog's eight years of life. Additionally, you won't find the owners' and employees' dogs crowding the lobby area, as they often do at other facilities. The airport location and extended hours are very convenient for travelers. My favorite feature is that the kennels are indoor/outdoor -- not a giant room stuffed with crates. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the pricing and services ahead of time -- boarding rates do not include daycamp, prices are higher during the holidays, and daycamp is not all-day play. Overall, I recommend Pet Paradise and will continue to trust them with my dog.

My puppy had a great time, he loves to go to Pet Paradise and we are so happy with this daycare!

The staff is caring and responsive and the facilities are clean. My two small dogs had a wonderful day at day camp and we are looking forward to getting away this weekend and taking them to spend two nights there as well as our cat. Lots of activity for the animals and some down time too. We are new to the area so it's comforting to know we have a place to put the fur babies so we can explore our new surroundings! From the first day I walked in there just to get information, Pet Paradise felt right to me. I walked in just to get information about the place & was greeted very nicely by staff. They offered to take me on a tour of the facility and spent a good amount of time one on one with me answering my questions. We were able to take our silver lab dog Sylvee the next day for a free “get to know you day.” She did really well there and we were given a Lil’ Camper Report about her day and what she had done! The next time we took her for her first overnight stay. When we arrived she was so excited to go back and play and again we were given a report when we picked her up about her stay and how she did. They also spent time talking to us and giving recommendations on what to try with her. We decided to schedule our vacation time with them and the manager was very informative about giving us ideas on how to save money there. Then I mistakenly forgot her collar there and didn’t realize it until the next day. They sent me an email telling me I had left it there and would either hold it or mail it to me. When I went to pick it up, they were very apologetic to me as though it was their mistake & gave me a free night of boarding! We have constantly been pleased by this facility & its staff! I feel very comfortable leaving my dog there and that she is in good hands!

Pet paradise lets your doggie stay for the day to try it out. This was key for gus and our peace of mind when we had to leave him for a week. We watched him have fun then saw pictures and got a report card. Nice touch!

Love this place for my puppy

Pet Paradise is awesome! Our dogs love going there and playing with their friends, swimming in the pool, etc. The staff are super friendly and truly care about our dogs.

Gus absolutely loves his vacation at Pet Paradise. All of the staff is extremely nice and seems to love him as much as he loves the bone shaped pool. When I first rescued Gus from Lucky Labs, we was a LOT of dog. Pet Paradise worked with him slowly to where he could final play with the pack of dogs instead of private time. I feel so at easy when I leave my dog in the care of the great Staff at Pet Paradise...

They have a fantastic facility near the airport and my dogs love it!

We love Pet Paradise! It is so convenient for traveling. Our dog Reagan loves staying there and really enjoys swimming in the pools, playing with doggie friends and she loves the doggie ice cream! We as her parents love the pictures they post showing what a great time she is having and we love that she can get a go home bath so she is fresh and clean. We wouldn't want her to stay anywhere else! The staff is always so friendly and informative. 100% recommend Pet Paradise!

Pet Paradise Charlotte is the ONLY pet boarding and daycare facility we would use for our dog. We've tried numerous others in the Charlotte area (5 to be exact) and none of them can measure up to the level of care, cleanliness (always super clean!) and customer service at Pet Paradise (their Matthews location is excellent as well). There is no high turnover of staff, so our dog is familiar and comfortable when he arrives and that is huge peace of mind. Excellent facility.

The facility and staff are second to none. Our 2 dogs have always been nervous boarders until we found Pet Paradise Charlotte Airport. The staff treats our 2 pups like family. We highly recommend this business.

We were very pleased. Even though the activity on site was very busy, an associate took her time to thoughly show us all around and request any questions. We felt very assured Ike and Rawley would be well cared for. I loved reviewing pictures on line to see their vacation. The site was clean and a positive vibe...recommend.

We love taking our dogs to Pet Paradise. Its conveniently located to the airport, which is typically where we are heading after we drop them off. Our dogs Sadie & Stella love the people there. They are always exhausted when we pick them up from playing all day with the other dogs. I would recommend Pet Paradise to anyone in the Charlotte area.

Both dogs looked great and the staff was really nice. I would definitely use them again. They were also very reasonably priced compared to our last groomer.

We could not have been happier with the treatment Wilson received at Pet Paradise. The facilities are very clean, the suites are nice and comfortable, and play time is absolutely the best. Wilson loves to socialize, so going to a kennel where he wouldn't just be stuck on his own was important to us. We even saw pictures while we were gone showing what a ball he was having! When I came to pick him up, it was clear that the person bringing him out to me had spent a lot of time with him, really knew him, and had a great way with dogs. I know that we will use them again the next time we have to go on a trip. And if I didn't know better, I'd think Wilson was scheming to get us out of town again so he can go have a visit with his new friends. Thank you, Pet Paradise!
