Searching Angie's List for a contractor to remodel our 15-year-old Toll Brothers master bath, I happened onto Paul Kowalski Builders. When he told me he once worked for John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, he had me, because as a real estate buyer's agent specializing in new construction, the Wieland brand was legendary (until Pulte bought them). Paul came to see the project, and once hired, PK Builders assigned Mike Barnett as the project manager. Paul was always available to me, but allowed Mike to run the remodel and he did a great job. I wanted someone who had experience with a heated floor, as well as a steam shower, and Paul's company had both. Mike seems to the specialist in the Schluter Kerdi system among the team, and also know the Schluter Ditra Heat flooring system well. As I knew construction often does, it took longer and cost more (with several change orders), but all went well and we are thrilled.

We spent time with Paul Kowalski for ideas and vision for our porch. Where no opening or structure was before, and 6 feet off the ground, they built the foundation, opened the living room wall with double sliding glass doors, and finished a beautiful 14 x 14 porch with an Eze-breeze screen/vinyl system. They estimated 5 weeks and taking into account weather delays, (they started in January) they were on it. Everyone who came to work was considerate and professional. Our Project Manager, Chris Sarif was on location almost every day and promptly responsive to any concerns or problems, of which there were few.

Paul Kowalski Builders is a first class operation. We had hired them for first a Kitchen, and then later (as the Kitchen renovation neared completion) Basement renovation. From the date of our first contact with Paul, through the contract initiation phase, through design choices and - ultimately, perhaps most importantly, through the work effort- Paul's crew exuded and illustrated first rate professionalism. Our specific project manager/foreman for both renovations was Gennady Sen. He is world class, and represents Paul Kowalski Builders in the highest possible regard (keeping timelines on point, budgets on point, and 'worker bees' on point). Highest possible recommendation, and we won't hesitate to to use Paul Kowalski Builders again in the future.

My remodel was a great experience! Paul and his team made the process seamless. I had a fabulous project manager (thank you Chris) who completed the job in the estimated time frame. There was always someone available to answer any questions I had. Would definitely hire Paul Kowalski Builders again!

Things did not go as expected. Paul is a nice guy and talks a good story, but the work that was done was below average at best. Plans were not followed (drawings spent the entire project in the dirt under the porch). Lots of mistakes and do overs, wrong materials and many delays. No sense of pride in workmanship, close enough is good enough and no eye for detail. The crews only worked a couple of days a week and you had no idea when they would be there. They had to be watched constantly to make sure mistakes were caught right away and fixed. The only time you will hear from Paul after you sign the contract is when your next payment is due.

Paul Kowalski Builders recently completed our master bathroom renovation as well as an extensive paint job throughout our home, and we could not be more pleased! Our Project Manager, Eric, was fabulous; he was extremely helpful, easy to work with, kept to the promised timeline, and was always available when we had a crazy question. We lived in the home throughout the majority of the work and the crew kept our house incredibly clean throughout the process. We plan to complete additional projects and look forward to using PKB again!

PK Builders were true to their time table and cost proposals. They were wonderful and I would highly recommend them.

It was excellent. He was competitively priced. They are the best remodel contractor I’ve ever worked with. The project manager has a great communication and he was on top of things.
