The price was for labor and parts. I thought that was reasonable. They received the parts after hours on Thursday and did the work on Friday. I had my car for the weekend which was nice.

I called the shop on Monday and was able to drop my vehicle off Tuesday morning. Early Tuesday morning I received a phone call from the shop with their findings and a price and time estimate to repair the problem, a bad wheel bearing. I gave the go ahead and received a second phone call that the repair was done 2 hours ahead of schedule. I picked the vehicle up after work and confirmed that the problem was fixed.
The shop was great to work with and I believe the prices were fair. I highly recommend Nick's Auto Repair.

Their prices are really reasonable. They always call and let me know how much the repair is going to be, other than for a standard maintenance service or like an oil change or rotating the tires. The prices don't change after the repair is done. The car is always ready when they say it is going to be ready. The service is great and the work that they do is good.

The work they did seems to have fixed the immediate problem. Their preliminary quote for a possible future replacement of the catalytic converter was about 60% of the price that I was charged for that same repair at the dealer a couple of years ago. If I need them again before this car is retired I will definitely go back to Nick's.

They said my car needed a new alternator at more than $100. I took the car to another company, which tested the electrical system and determined that I needed a new battery at half the price, and not an alternator.

"I just registered on the Angie's list site and was looking over the reviews which is why I'm responding to this report so long after it was posted. Regretfully this customer did not notify me personally of the complaint so that I may have a chance to do something to help the situation. Also it has been a while but from what I can gather from the report the vehicle was looked at by me and another shop in the same day so I can't be sure if the customer just drove in for a quick look or actually left the vehicle with me for a thorough diagnosis. I would not be at all surprised though if the replaced battery only temporarily solved the problem until the alternator had enough time to wear down the new battery also, which is very common. At any rate I apologize for any misunderstanding and regret that I may not have been informed personally after the customer got another opinion so that I may have done something to clear up the situation."

A local dealer quoted me over $400 to replace my fuel and air filters and to flush and replace the coolant and transmission fluids. I called Nick's Auto Repair to see how reasonable this was and they quoted $250-$275. I asked Jimmy Forniotis (Nick's son) if I could have the work done the next day (Saturday) and he said that would not be a problem. I also asked them to check everything over and let me know if any other work was required. The car was ready on time and they called me to let me know. When I went to pick it up, they charged me the agreed $250 and said they didn't see anything else that needed work. It's nice to work with someone that you don't feel is trying to pull one over on you.

GREAT SERVICE! WENT TO GET MY JEEP INSPECTED AND IT FAILED B/C WOULDN'T PASS EMISSIONS TEST. INSPECTION STATION GAVE ME THE NAME OF AN MUFFLER/EXHAUST PLACE THAT COULD FIX IT. TOOK IT THERE, AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS A CRACKED MANIFOLD AND IT WOULD BE ABOUT $500-$700 TO FIX. I HAD BEEN TOLD ABOUT NICK'S AUTO REPAIR AND I FIGURED, WHAT THE HECK, AND TOOK IT THERE. TOLD NICK THAT THE MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED AND ASKED HIM TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT. TWO HOURS LATER, NICK CALLED AND SAID IT WASN'T CRACKED, JUST NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED AND THE CHARGE WAS ONLY $50. NICK IS AN HONEST GENTLEMAN, WHICH IS HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS. SINCE THEN WE HAVE TAKEN OUR CARS TO HIM WHENEVER THEY HAVE NEEDED WORK AND HAVE BEEN PLEASED EVERY TIME. HIS WORK IS VERY THOROUGH AND NORMALLY WE HAVE OUR CAR BACK THE NEXT DAY.

A TUNE- UP ON A CAR AND ALSO WE HAVE A CAPRICE CHEVROLET. WE HAD TAKEN OUR CAR TO OUR DEALER AND THEY PUT TOO MUCH OIL IN OUR CAR. THIS WAS DURING THE WINTER AND THAT OIL FROZE-UP IN THE CAR. NICKS CLEANED THAT OIL OUT FOR US.
