Mr Glass

Approximately one year after installation, one wall of glass in our guest bathroom became extremely unstable. Being for guests, that shower had been used just a few times. We feared the glass would fall and shatter. Obviously this rendered the shower and to some degree, this bathroom, unusable. The glass in one other bathroom was becoming loose. Rick VanNote (Mr. Glass) was called 3 times for consultation regarding our options. Each time we waited at 1-2 weeks for his return call before calling again. His voice mail was reached each time. His message included his name so we were reaching the correct person. Each of the three times a detailed message was left explaining the problem including the urgency of stabilizing the glass. Contact numbers were carefully provided for his use. None of the three calls was returned. At this point, we asked another vendor who had referred us to Mr. Glass to contact him. He did not return this call either. We consulted a local, reputable business who had originally given us a higher bid for the shower glass as well as another local vendor for an additional opinion. Both technicians independently agreed that the glass had been installed incorrectly. They gave us some options but stated there was little that could be done to fix it permanently. The shower is now usable but we will always have to treat it with kid gloves despite paying premium prices for materials and labor. Problems can arise with every job. Other vendors have worked on our home and when there were problems, which were very rare, they demonstrated good faith. We were willing to work with this vendor similarly. In the end, the undisputable facts are that we trusted this vendor with our home and when problems arose, we were on our own. We would submit that the economy is not the only factor hurting the housing industry. Vendors such as this make people very wary about undertaking such projects.

This was an excellent experience. Mr. Glass is professional, courteous and a perfectionist. He arrived when he said he would and did the installation neatly and even saved us a touch up paint job. We would recomment him and would not hesitate to call him back for future work.

They are a really good glass company. It?s been a while since I got the work done by them and I don?t even know if they are still in business. They do all kinds of automotive glass work. They replaced one of the windows in my home which had cracked. The work done was good. They got the work done pretty quickly and I didn?t have any problems with them. I will definitely use them again in the future.

1) Prompt response to inspect and estimate. 2) Repairs completed, correctly, on date and time given for appointment. 3) Cost was as estimated. 4) Company personnel were prompt, courteous, efficient and very well mannered. 5) Did not try to "up sell."
